Definitely. I feel like during this golden age the music was made with much more "room to breath" and it lets the bass and the dj screw origins & influence shine in the earlier stuff. Like early Dj yung vamp when those tapes were new (like Night Off Trill 1 for ex). The phonk at that time had a quality of being like part beat tape+part trap (edm) subgenre+part Dj screw/dirty south hip hop that you could tell the artists were experimenting with and it seemed so novel to me. I remember finding phonk and loving how it was like listening to beat tapes but with higher energy. These days phonk is so diverse and larger and thats cool but its lost that spirit from the early days where everyone was kinda experimenting with similar stuff and cobbling the entire genre together on soundcloud and youtube. Thats been my experience anyways.

Im still here since the beginning of trappin in heaven series occured and it was atime I was 17 an started to smoke weed heavily. this and the dreamy phonky anime vibe connected to screw and smokey made up a golden but short era of high quality rabbit hole cippher beats. Longing for that time but my assumption is Emotional Tokyo trapped into pharma pills as I experience it myself now. Its destroying our drive and I just can pray to get such diamonds back on the list. He didnt have that huge popularity without reasons
