This piece is a perfect example of something my mom and I were talking about...ok, so this, simple loose ink work (and by simple I don't at all mean easy, you're clearly crazy talented and I can't get perspective right for the life of me unlike you!!) with simple watercolor is my favorite type of art...though I love just graphite drawing, especially shading, also acrylic painting mostly for the texture...but this is my joy! But, as in love as I am with this look, when I do it, ALL I see are the non-perfect lines or whatever, so I over think it and do way too much detail which is also fine, but not what I wanted. But as much as I love it from other artists, I feel like people will see my work and just think it's a mess or unfinished....so I rip myself apart for it. But then I also rip myself apart when I get myself into too many details and lose my joy. We can critique ourselves to death :/ Because this is absolutely gorgeous!! An it definitely makes me want to try drawing with a different type of pen and ink. I use a micron, which is great for loads of stuff, but, I LOVE how you're getting these random (maybe it's totally planned, obviously I've not used a pen like this, but it seems random) blobs of fat lines trailing into thin...it makes this amazing!! Would you mind saying what pen/ink, like what nib you use? Just as someone just wanting to try this type, I see so many and am not sure which is best but also not crazy expensive as thats not an option :) Anyway....I just had to say how beautiful this is and appreciate you sharing it!!💕
Thank you so much for your comment! 😊, This loose style of sketching is indeed very casual and free, and it is also very attractive for me to constantly try to discover the fun and feel the surprises it brings. Every time it is created randomly, if the same content is drawn again, it will be different. This is its unique charm. Wish you enjoy the fun! The pen I use is Duke D2 fude nib fountain pen, and the ink is DEMCO waterproof India ink. Regarding the experience and tips on the use of this pen, paper and ink, there are some special videos in my previous video for reference, which may be useful.😄
@old654man i use de atramentis artist black, it works perfect for sketching, dry fast and waterproof. De atramentis document also waterproof but slightly abit wetter than artist series.
Your drawings are really beautiful and I love your loose style. I aspire to be able to draw like you. However, having watched several of your videos now, I sometimes wonder if you over-work the watercolour. Often your pen drawings seem more alive with your first few splashes of colour and I find myself shouting at the video “stop there, leave it alone, you’ve done enough!”. I’m guilty of the same thing myself, not knowing when to stop (I’m just a beginner so have no right to comment really). This is not intended as a criticism, just a personal opinion.
Thank you so much for your comment! Indeed, loose style sketches also need to be matched with loose style watercolor sketches. I have also been working hard to explore and pursue this higher coordination. This is what attracts us to enjoy it all the time.😊
