This is when I realise how lucky I am to live in the uk. I grew up watching the Harry Potter films (being only 2 when philosophers stone was released) so from that age my parents would drive me to Alnwick castle (which is only an hour drive away from where I live), where I'd run around the field they used as a set for the flying lesson on my toy broomstick trying to fly and I have to say that gave me such a magical childhood. I've also been to Edinburgh a few times and visited the Elephant house as well as traveling down to London for the studio tour and stopping at kings cross on the way there. As much as I'd love to visit wizarding world Orlando (it does look breathtakingly amazing), I don't think you can beat the original places such as Alnwick castle because they are probably the closest we will ever have to magic.
I'm literally on my way to Orlando flordia for Harry Potter and this comes in my notifications Edit: It was great, Gringotts was fun but forbidden journey is always my favorite! And riding the express was a dream come true!
Jack Kiyoto yay! Beware of the ride through the castle...that one made me queasy! But the Gringotts one was awesome, I went in the singles line, riding it 3 times:)
I've been to a few of these, and I have to say Edinburgh and Universal Studios are my tie for #1. It is mind numbing and chilling to think that this brilliant woman created this magical world and shared it with us.
Alnwick Castle is honestly one of the best tourist attractions I have ever been to. They had HP Role plays, the poison garden, animal storytelling, dungeon tours, castle and museum tours plus they had attractions for a Wonderland Maze and mystery themed waterfall (Not HP themed). Have not been back in a few years but still one of the best attractions I have visited.
I want to go to all these places, and more. I know Japan had one HP Theme Park open a couple of years ago too, and I'm so hoping that similar them parks open in other countries as well.
I already went to the studio in london, the exhibition and i touched the Glenfinnan Bridge! If you get out at the train station right at the bridge you can take a hike of about an hour from the station, under the bridge and back over the mountain. The trail even takes you back to one of the train platforms. It gives a great view and a opportunity to take photos.
The Escape from the Gringotts Bank really was awesome and all, but I'm shocked that they actually didn't mention the ride in the castle! That was much cooler than the Bank one too!
Universal Orlando has the train, diagon alley, and the gringotts ride. It is a lot bigger too, there is even two Harry Potter areas at the separate parks in Orlando.
been to all of these apart from the canadian one - proud. Also i live in edinburgh and there are so many harry potter references everywhere and its great
the city of York also inspired loads of locations in Harry Potter, the street The Shambles is the inspiration for Diagon Alley and many of the train station scenes were filmed in York Station
You have forgotten about Durham Cathedral, which also featured in Harry Potter. They actually used it for the great hall, and the library located in the cathedral were used as their sleeping chambers. I've been there a couple of times and it's absolutely worth the trip✌🏼 I was 12 the first time I was there, and when I came home I want to see the second Harry Potter film with my dad. During the movie, my dad leaned over and asked me if I reckognised it, while a girl younger than me, probably around 8, over heard. She also leaned over and asked; have you been there?! I said yes, then she turned to her dad and told him; dad, that girl have been to Hogwarts!! Good times😊
I recently visited the warner bros studio in watford as like many other people we love Harry potter my wife and 5 year old son loved it also its something we would happily do again
I have a problem with the oder 3 or 2 should have been number 1 for no other reason than Harry Potter is British so if you really want to experience his world you need to be in his country
In Edinburgh go to Victoria Street too - it was the inspiration for Diagon Alley and there is now a shop there called Diagon House which sells some Harry Potter stuff not available at the Studios - I know, I have been lucky enough to visit both in the last two weeks.
And the pronunciation of loch. Also from someone who lives there, where the hell is downtown? We have the old town, new town and just use "town" to mean the centre but what was that
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is the shit! I went there over the summer and I was in fucking heaven. I would def go back. Btw: Frozen Butter Beer is awesome. And if you want, you can get a butter beer flavored Frappe at Starbucks any where. Ask them. They’ll make it. It’s just not on the menu.
I went to Orlando, Florida and visited The park where the Harry Potter park is and I WASN'T EVEN A FAN at the moment and I LOVED IT. Right now I am a Potter head and I want to visit it again so bad TT sadly not gonna happen

I wish we had a Wizarding World in the UK, that looks more an immersive experience .
I have went to Harry Potter studio tour and it was amazing! It was a school reward trip there and it was near my 11th birthday so happy early birthday to me!!!! I had such a meltdown when I saw the entrance to the great hall. I was so happy I started crying! I even got to go inside 4 privet drive, look at the potters cottage at godrics hollow, go in gringotts (and ruined gringotts where there was a really cool Dragon display thong)
Thing. And we saw bellatrixs vault! We even got to see a HUGE model of Hogwarts! And we went on the Hogwarts bridge, walked through diagon alley, went to platform 9 and 3/4, we went on the Hogwarts express, got to go on a broomstick, and so much more!
