You'd have an easier time getting the Eggmech play function to work if you just used the cemical plant zone ramp build that comes with it. I'm surprised you didn't mention it, since the play feature is demonstrated using the ramp on the box. You also don't need to smash down so hard on the laucher to get it to work either.
Oh yeah! This one is a Christmas pick up for sure. Its unfortunate to see the speed sphere can easily damage the mech, by literal scratching (and maybe cracking?) and it being able to damage Sonic's printing is criminal. Now as a collector and a young adult this shouldn't matter, but I'll be darned if I don't spend a few weeks playing with the very toy I wanted as a kid for years. Thank you for the review and sacrifice, RIP the gloss on part 88930
Funny that the spikes and rings weren't even mentioned in the review, but at the same time, I didn't miss them either while watching. Only thought about it at the end.
The claw not turning or even extending is a gripe I had with this set: of all LEGO mechs of the past, licensed and original, this is a play feature that could have easily been implemented, even if they reduced articulation in that arm or fixed the elbow joint into place. Not to mention how the box art suggested that it *could* move, which is just misleading graphic design.
I watched a stream of someone else building this set, and noticed something strange with my copy. In my instructions, Bag 3 said it starts with the 2 animals. When in reality, they were packaged with Bag 5. I've never seen a mistake like that before.

I forget why I didn’t include them, but I guess they also don’t really add much to the final build anyway lol

@@RadiantBuildsEveryone needs to type PINGAS in The chat after this
@@RadiantBuildsHis PINGAS is Not so indestructible
Use the ramp that comes with the set
I have the Lego death egg robot and it's AMAZING.
Um you know your supposed to use the ramp right?
While I forgot to include it in those shots 🤦♂️, I found that the ramp doesn’t make that much of a difference
@@RadiantBuilds it does tho
maybe you should upgrade the mech
