  • Curious what fits in the small or large cup holders? Here’s a crash course! Hope this helps and let me know if you want any other videos of specifics. I have all accessories except the TV and at least one sample of each wood to showcase color differences
    Additional jars tested after video was published:
    12 oz mason jar fits in large but not small
    24 oz mason jars do not fit in either

    You literally saved me $900. I cancelled my card shelves and cup holders after watching your videos. Card shelves I agreed I shouldn't get, but as someone with a planer and tablesaw I can make these cup holders myself. Whew!

    Awesome video for the cup holders. My Backer Kit just opened so I'm trying to make final choices on accessories. Very helpful!

      Happy to help! Let me know if you want to see videos of anything else in particular. I have all of them except the screen insert (which is now discontinued) and the card holder (which I returned because I disliked it that much). I also have examples of each of the woods on component organizers which I can show closer up

    Your videos are so amazingly helpful. I just keep watching and sending links to my wife. We have a 6 month old who will be a little over a year by the time we should expect our table (assuming there aren’t insane delays) so the comment on the Capri-sun drinks is appreciated lol

    Thanls for this vid. I had assumed the large would be the most versatile, but didn’t realize how shallow the inserts are. We mostly use standard glasses when gaming. May have to switch to the smaller cup holders.

    Thanka for the video, very helpful. How hard is it to knock the cup holder off if you were to accident swipe your hand or elbow into the side?

    • @ThePercOfGaming
      @ThePercOfGaming  2 роки тому +1

      Hard enough I wouldn’t worry about it too much but it is a possibility if you hit it just right. For that reason we normally put our cup holders on the inside of the table or my groups favorite on the shield apron as shown in this video. We do that with our group of four which gets them out of our space but still keeps them accessible. Wine glasses that’s a little less practical for so they often go on the outside of the long apron.

    How well do the magnets hold with a full pint glass? I'm worried a full glass would be too heavy.

    • @ThePercOfGaming
      @ThePercOfGaming  2 роки тому +2

      The weight isn’t an issue! I’ve put a 30oz steel tumbler filled with water and had no issues. (pint = 16oz so almost double the liquid weight)

    schott is pronounced like shot.
    zwiesel like weasle with a leading ts and more of an emphasis on the "e" in weasle.

    Seems the large cup holder inserts would benefit from sourcing a metal insert that was deeper by almost 2x. I wonder if one can find one - then the bigger stuff will sit lower and it angle sideways as much.

    • @ThePercOfGaming
      @ThePercOfGaming  Рік тому +2

      I personally like the depth since they don’t really wobble or knock that much in practical use. Only in extreme cases of getting knocked has it been an issue and it has never resulting in anything falling out of a holder. Although I have had cup holders get knocked off the rail twice from sideways blows (1 chair and 1 hand)

      @@ThePercOfGaming good to know.
      From my planning I need to handle taller big glasses , eg ice tea , and short ones , eg rocks glasses. So my concern , and that I’ll have to work out , is with the taller ice tea glasses , and their base diameter , how will it work.
      The sideways knocking is defiantly a risk , completely foolproof isn’t possible. I wonder if as I’m doing my table replacement if I don’t also just jank my old carpet floors and put in wood plank.

    i have some cup holders that might wiggle a little too much when inserted into the rail, and i see yours doesnt wiggle as much. not sure if the wiggle room is intentional?

    • @ThePercOfGaming
      @ThePercOfGaming  5 днів тому

      If by wiggle you mean up and down yes they kind of sag a bit intentionally to hold them on the rail better. If it is wiggle left and right I’d be concerned.

    are the cupholder magnets strong enough to hold one of those large Yeti-like tumblers if it's full?

    • @ThePercOfGaming
      @ThePercOfGaming  2 роки тому +1

      Yes they are! I’ve never put anything in the cup holders that resulted in it failing because of the way it wedges the cup holder onto the surrounding wood when bearing weight. In other words if a cup holder ‘fell off’ simply from the weight it is bearing it would be a result of wood snapping somewhere which you’d have to really be intentionally trying to do. Example: Person trying to sit on a cup holder. (Future video idea?…)

    Is condensation on the glass, running down onto the holder without using an insert, an issue?

    • @ThePercOfGaming
      @ThePercOfGaming  2 роки тому +1

      Good question! Only things our group puts in holders without the insert regularly are wine glasses which don’t sweat since they are not ice cold. If there was a glass that was of concern I would be careful letting condensation gather too much too often as it could over time damage the wood. In summary, Win and doubt I’d play it safe and avoid wood to condensation.

    Which size would you recommend for pint glasses

    • @ThePercOfGaming
      @ThePercOfGaming  Рік тому +1

      For pint the small is best. The large allows for some wobble inside that’s not ideal. Although it works with both if you need to save money and buy just large. For what it’s worth we tend to use large more than small in our group.

      @@CrunchyMamathis is the standard black walnut. Their rustic walnut is more of a “butcher block” style made by smaller scrap pieces of black walnut glued together.

    It was a bummer to see that the mug doesn't fit anywhere. My gaming group loves to drink coffee. I suppose I can have them switch to thermal containers but they tend to use mugs at the moment.

    • @ThePercOfGaming
