I lived in Umalas for 3 years. Loved it. Never experienced any crime .. very peaceful and central to everything. I never used short cuts in Bali as I drove a car not bike.
Thank you guys for your video about safety 😊 It’s very important to know
Great tip about keeping valuables in the motorbike. Thanks guys!
Our pleasure!
Thank you guys for this advice, we stay many times in Umalas 2 pre pandemic 3 visits, no problems however times have changed and I heed your advice for sure
Youre welcome!
Thank you for show your video. We had remember at Bali in germany😜 We miss it!
Thank u so much Jay and Alina,,,u were so right...itz my 2nd at Seminyak...and 2 bikers tried to snatch my chain from the neck while driving in evening in the middle of a road full of people and traffic..I was lucky though to saved myself but now taking your advises seriously...tks again!!
Thanks for info!!!!!
No problem!
Good video , thanks for sharing , I also take landscape videos in UK and sometimes abroad .It's very helpful. I subscribed to the channel, so I'm looking forward to it. Thank you for the good video
I can't thank you enough for opening up and giving us the truth about certain areas, its information you probably would not get from relator, property developers and destination managers. Appreciate it.
I've been living in Umalas II for years guys, I have not seen or experience this ....
I stay in Umalas every time I visit bali and have not seen or experienced this
Just came back a month ago from Kuta first time in Bali stayed in poppies lane 2 ,no issues, planning to go back and stay in a villa in Seminyak or legion in a few months.
no ...the worst area for living in bali is " Lapas kerobokan " a.k.a kerobokan prison .... lol
Amazing content great video!
Appreciate it!
Correct our rental vehicle got hit in the street near Semniyak and people just shrugged like its normal.
Thank you, Jay and Alina, for keeping it real in Bali. Thank you so much for sharing that info with us. Sending you so much love💖💖💖 Jim, Harriet and Yuki. Richmond. Va.
Thank you so much guys! Say hi to Yuki :)
Hi Jay,,do u suggest Ubud z a safe area to take villa for long term??
How about Sanur
thanks for sharing i rode solo day and all times of night and got lost many times hahaha who knows if i went through Umalas or not but if i did maybe got lucky
How safe is Ubud and surrounding areas? Especially in regards to break ins?
Safe, generally, its much safer now since people are not forced to commit crime like they were during the pandemic. Tourism is now booming, theres a business for everyone.
Thank you Jay & Alina for sharing and giving us tips - much appreciated, especially for the ladies. 🦋🙏🌈 Not much a fan of Canggu, more like Ubud, but the beach is tempting for sure 💕
Our pleasure!
There are many tourist destinations along Java Island, you can try :)
You must be joking =) Do you think anybody who comes for holidays wants to be woken up at 3:00am by the nearest mosque?
@@pavlozdorenko3722 The call for prayer is actually at 4.45. I think it's a perfect time to get prepared for hiking up the mountain and see the sun rise ☺️ waterfalls, etc.
Thanks!
Thank You! 🙏🏼
I do not want to be mean, but in the 1990s many indonesians arrived in malaysia to work in construction and plantation. Some are legal, some are not. There were many house break-in and robberies. I remembered that well. Many robbery gangs from indonesia were gunned down as they dare to challenge the police with guns and machetes. They killed locals of course with weapons. It was a very sad decade of crimes. We thought they just came over for work earning an honest living. Nowadays more bangledeshis are recruited instead of indonesians. They are more law abiding.
Went to see some healers there at back of Semniyak and don't bother - crooks so I agree with you re crime etc.
Oh no😬 me and my partner have just come to Bali so we will make sure to stay clear from that particular area! Thank you for sharing!!! 🙏🏼X
Hope it helps! Have fun in Bali!
I was kidnapped Twice in two days in kuta Legian st 12 pm broad daylight police did nothing I fought I got away I went found a policeman wasn’t interested I had a Hashan bag put over my head both times when I fought I got bag off my head found 4 women trying to hold me while 3 men ran off but what was scary was it was in the Main Street people everywhere no one helped me
Sorry to hear that😞
how do you keep your cash in bali?
We dont. Withdrawing every time we need some.
Pretty much all the areas in Bali are the worst for living, very low grade buildings, roosters in yards, untrained dogs in yards barking all night, street dogs. New (very bad) constructions going up on every piece of spare land, dangerously dumb drivers on the tiny roads with no regard for basic common sense traffic rules. Sound systems blaring out of villas or people's gardens. Pollution in the rivers. Trying to get the most basic of tasks completed is like fighting an uphill battle as far as cooperation with a local is needed. The rent is way overpriced compared to better developed places in Thailand or Vietnam for example. Overcrowded beaches. Street sellers hassling foreigners left right and centre. The list goes on. If you can jump in a car and get away then you might get a nice day out but as a place to actually live it's just a nightmare unless you can afford to buy 10 acres of land and build a house to the standards of developed nations away from the constant bullshit of other peoples general disregard for the peace and quiet for other people.
Which is better canggu, ubud, uluwatu or perhaps north of the island far away from those busy towns?
Better for who? Not everyone can live in the city and not everyone can live in the countryside. It depends.
depends on what you want. If you want a party life and be around foreigners, canggu is your best bet. Crazy traffic though, stayed there before the borders fully opened and was fine but recently its now just a mess. Uluwatu is less crazy, not as many bars or clubs but still pretty popular, not as crazy traffic. Ubud is rainy and away from beaches so take that into consideration. You can walk there though and don't really need a scooter, I think its nice for a week or so. North is more islolated and offers a real local experience imo, just less western goods which can be good. Sanur is my favorite though. Chill, no traffic, can walk everywhere and beach nearby.
@@HenryTravelPal thanks for the info. A friend of mine likes ubud and has been there 6 times. I do not really like beach or sea.
I find it a bit worrying. Since you2 left Bali you posted several videos about how unsafe the island is. Less than a year ago Bali was the best place to live in according to one of your videos. What are you trying to do? Keep up the clicks? Does Latvia has the best food, best weather and best people? Is it a country without crime? Never mind a response, I’ve been to Bali several times and visited all Baltic states as well.
Something is wrong here.
Since we left Bali we posted 1 video about 1 area in Canggu to be very careful with, due its recent high crime. The rest of the videos are cuts of the same video. What is wrong here is your ability to understand this.
@@jayandalina so you are posting several videos with the same message. I am sure you will have your reasons.
Mr van bueren, the things discussed in this video are true. If you don't believe it, read the forums... they are full of safety/crime complaints from tourists of various nationalities ... While addressing their home country like this sounds mean, only a really stupid person could write something like this.... "Never mind a response"
What for nationalaty has Jay?
Jay is Slovak nationality born in Ukraine.
draw a map while explaining please!
THANKS 👍🙏👍for INFO2 🙏👍🙏
SUKSEES ÁLS 🙏👌👍👌🙏👏👏👏
You very welcome!
Bali, to be given the recognition as the island of the gods....it must remove the shackles of the worst aspects of government control. To continue to insist that all people both local and tourists abide by questionable medical standards will create the heavy anchor of mediocrity and will slow the economy and frustrate and demean the god of abundance. Trust has taken a severe blow and the turnaround speed is in the hands of futuristic courageous leaders not in the lap of the gods.
Umalas nice to live ..
Haha.
Agree!
Wider roads will lead to a bigger amount of cars. System of public transportation, sidewalks and bicycle roads would be better
What is the best area to live???
At this point probably Pererenan or Babakan.
their not even help us local too 😅 or more to say the criminal not even scared of them
Thanks for sharing information and watching our video Daniel!
ok i will report it to police
oh its useless 🤣😟
Still Bali vlog? I thought you guys done with Bali. Missing Bali? Or less viewer without Bali vlog😉
😉
never seen anything bad in umalas I have a villa here for the last 4 months .... nothing bad here guys this is way off
Haha, you guys missing Bali then????
Haha not quite yet but we have lots of experiences to share!
These robbers are called begal.
They would sometimes wield huge knives, I even heard that they don't think twice about chopping your hands off, if you don't let go of your belongings.
Sorry about the incompetent police force in Indonesia.
They are truly a disgrace and about 100% of them are corrupt.
I wouldn't be surprised, if they get regular "smooth operation fee" from the begal themselves.
Thanks for sharing more info!
Who are these people? if so offended and outraged their home county would be a better fit for them, just continous passive aggressive trashing of a whole area and law inforcement as well, beyond annoying!.
In English? 🤣
🤡
Are you like … an Umalas ambassador or something?
You lived for only 18 months in Canggu and have seen 2/3 % of the island and acting as a experts. You and your members only drive on mean motorbike paths in Umalas as most part freaks doing and are surprised to become a target of criminals and creating the traffic jam yourself. Oh my dear, just go inland and visit the real Bali and meet the local places and people instead of adding ridicules videos.
Us and our members drive loud bikes? Poor Alina didnt ever even ride a bike🙈
