  • This the first video in a series where I will show how to duplicate a fishing lure for 3D printing. This process can be used to either make your own complete lure designs or just the first steps in making 3D printed stencils for airbrushing store bought lure blanks.
    See my website for other 3D printed lures - www.theneverendingprojectslis...

    The loft between planes...i'm speechless right now. So many hours using stupid sweeps and paths to cut sweeping side profiles. This video has simultaneously filled my life with joy and adjunct terror at my own ignorance. Awesome job, this is why the internet is great.

      ... and here I thought I was doing it the hard way. LOL Well I hope this video helps a lot of people and we start seeing a lot more 3D printed lures available.

      I use the student edition of Solidworks. The series was started in the 2018 version and I upgraded to the 2019 version in the middle of part 3 of this series. Thanks for the heads up about the site... I fixed the link.

      Unfortunately I do not have the time to redo everything in every CAD program out there but all of the design principles I've shown in these videos are done the same way in Fusion 360.

  • @pieternel2039

    Great video. I can do everything in Fusion 360 except the three parts remain and the two side cut out pieces cannot be deleted or removed. Any ideas?

    • @TheNeverendingProjectsList
      @TheNeverendingProjectsList  3 роки тому

      I'm not sure what you mean but the 3 parts but in Fusion everything should be a separate bodies so you can just turn off which ever ones you don't want in the design tree under the bodies branch.

    And if I need to make the shape of a silicone bait concave on a rectangle , then how do I do it ?

    • @TheNeverendingProjectsList
      @TheNeverendingProjectsList  Рік тому

      If I understand what you are trying to say... you should still be able to do in the same way your profile sketches just have to match the design you are going for.

      Sorry I don't share CAD files... last time I did someone claimed my work as their own. The whole point of these tutorials is so people can design their own.

    Hello
    I am a fishing maniac living in Korea. I'm producing a minnow by referring to your video. The quality of your production looks very good. Can you tell me the diameter of the nozzle and the height of the layer?

    • @TheNeverendingProjectsList
      @TheNeverendingProjectsList  3 роки тому +1

      These are the print setting I use on these lures.
      I print this lure in PLA+ with the following settings
      (You'll have to experiment with what works best for you.)
      Layer Height = .10mm
      Top Solid Layers = 4
      Bottom Solid Layers = 3
      Outline/Perimeter Shells = 3
      Supports = I do not use them but you can if you need too.
      Infill = 25%

      Thanks, your reply is very helpful to me.
      The luer I made yesterday didn't float. I think it's because it's 100% infill.
      Thanks to your video, I am getting a lot of help. Thank you.

    Can I use the same technique in order to make a mold for soft plastics?

    • @TheNeverendingProjectsList
      @TheNeverendingProjectsList  3 роки тому

      Yes... even with a soft plastic lure you're going to design the bait first and then you make a box around the bait and cut the bait from the box to make the mold. Check out my other video "Designing a 3D Printed Multi Cavity Mold (Basic Grub)" it shows the mold design process.
