Only had this thing for 1 day now and I’m AMAZED at the difference it made in the throttle response on my 14 Silverado 4.3. Don’t really care about the fuel mileage I’m just sick and tired of the crappie factory throttle response. Especially when going uphill. I know that the 4l60 and 4l80 have torque managment, if the 6l80 is like the 4l60 and 4l80, you likely still have a lot of performance left on the table. Edit: The 4l60 and 4l80 have torque managment even with a manual throttle body.

Is eco mode 1 more fuel efficient and gentle to the throttle response than eco 9 or the opposite? Because to my understanding the “racing” P3.9 would be the most aggressive and P3.1 would be less aggressive but for Eco mode Eco.1 is less aggressive (hence more fuel efficient) than eco.9?
That’s a good question tho I’ll admit I’ve never bothered to change the eco mode from EC.7😅 I’ll give it a try and get back to you after testing it out
i too use ecomode 2 on my windbooster all the time since it eliminates the abrupt acceleration on the normal mode.eco mode brings smooth acceleration and regulated rpm's.
I want one for fuel economy. Ill elaborate. When driving normal, my Corolla will match E.P.A at 38mpg. A very large range of throttle can accomplish this.(From little to great) But if you are careful with very, very, little throttle, it seems to go into lean burn mode, getting more like 52mpg highway with long stretches of 60-70mpg on flats. This throttle position has no penalty because the vehicle maintains speed. This particular throttle position is very tireing and causes cramps on long trips. Do you beleive this controller will allow me to easier access this throttle position???
Hmmm in answering your question, it’s quite hard to tell, frankly speaking. In my experience using the throttle controller, I’ve never actually monitored my car’s throttle position😅. Further, the situation you’ve been experiencing with your Corolla is quite unique in terms of throttle position and fuel consumption so I believe it’s only something you can determine yourself only after using said throttle controller unfortunately

Hi there and thank you for the feedback! I’ve yet to experience any failure of the throttle controller device nor any wire being cut (thankfully) but I believe the gas pedal won’t suffer a complete failure but rather, inconsistencies in throttle output so it’s best to utilise the brake pedal and slow down the car safely to remove the throttle controller to let the ECU 'reset' itself

Yeah when you compare the different modes side by side the difference is pretty marginal. I will say though, pickup performance is improved at higher speed such as from 80-100km/h where the throttle controller remains in lower gear to achieve improved acceleration, rather than 0-100km/h (for example).
Honestly - this test isn't really informative - the device doesn't change the power at full throttle - it's for when you just press it half way for example, the throttlebody would open more or less in different modes. So when not going flat out, you'll notice it feels more or less powerful because it's activating at different amounts based on mode. At full throttle the throttlebody will always be at 100 percent open regardless of the mode used, so the only difference at full throttle is the delay at the very start in opening the throttlebody will change. A proper test is how it feels when pressing the throttle 25-50 percent... not 100. Additionally - you're driving an automatic, which will likely have heavy involvement from the ECU in determining the throttlebody position - eitherway, it's open to 100 percent regardless of the mode... so a 0-100 flat out test is not the right test.
Personally, I think the best mode to use would be the comfort setting, especially if you need to get somewhere quickly. But for fuel saving purposes I find myself often using the eco setting. Unfortunately however, I don’t have a printout results per setting😅

That must be a software issue I believe. The throttle controller has its own system which overrides the car’s ECU to make the car respond according to the different modes. That same system must be interfering with your car’s cruise control software I think

All I know is I installed it worked good for one day. Then the next day check engine light came on and goes dead when put into reverse. Now it's in the shop
I did a lift, larger tires and roof rack on my Grand Cherokee and lost fuel efficiency for sure. It also likes to downshift at high speeds on even the slightest hill. I just ordered one of these to test and see how it changes things. Thanks!

I don’t think it will as a manual transmission should, in theory, give the driver more control over power output unlike an automatic transmission’s limited driver control
I believe it has a stronger influence on automatic transmission compared to manual. Reason for that would be that for a manual transmission, you’d have direct control over when you want to get gears changed, unlike an auto transmission. The process to set it up on a manual shouldn’t be far off from what’s shown here in this video since the only connecting point involved would be the one on the throttle pedal
It does not make your car faster. It simply takes out the delay from when you punch the pedal to when it goes. You will get a slightly better 0-60 if you time it from when you punch the pedal. If you time it from when the car actually goes, it’s the same

Hello there, after installing the throttle controller, pedal lag is greatly reduced when I use the max performance setting. The throttle controller is 1 pack for 1 car because the plug which connects to the pedal is different for every car

used it on a Ford Ranger Wiltrak 2015 model. had it going for about a month then suddenly messed up my ecu. idle rpm increased at about 2000, esc light on and powertrain light on. now its sitting inside my dash unused..

Unfortunately the 9 drive does not have such feature, probably because it would be too complicated to programme within the computer chip of the 9 drive and maintain that relatively low price point
I have experienced two instances where the ECU glitched out and caused multiple warning lights to light up but it only triggered the lights-the car was able to run fine. All I had to do was disconnect and reconnect the throttle controller

Yes in a way, but power mode (I assume you're referring to the perodua Ativa) only gives more power whereas the throttle controller can also help you conserve fuel as well by controlling the accelerator pedal sensitivity

Well, the overall best mode would be P1.5 (comfort) for quick throttle response when driving and that mode consumes less fuel compared to P3.9 (race) ((obviously)) though I should say, I use the eco mode most of the time

Basically if the throttle response causes the car to move off the line quicker due to the pedal being more sensitive that means it must shave 0.3 of a second 0 to 60

Hey man. I use a Proton Preve and I recently installed a throttle controller. After installing it, my traction controller light activates when I go full throttle. Do you have any way I could solve this? I thought if resetting my Ecu but I'm afraid to do so. Please help.
I recommend that you uninstall the throttle controller for a day or two to let your ecu naturally reset and then try installing it again. Though if I may ask, when you go full throttle, what mode would you use? Because the traction controller light would usually turn on when there’s a wheel spin(which can happen if you go full throttle + maximum throttle controller setting)

Why u test the car with very low fuel in tank? If u do this test with half tank of fuel i think that is better and near real life driving... Who drives a car with so low tank of fuel?
@@WayzerDudefor a car guy normally if we drive a car try to avoid the fuel level at the minimum coz it will shorten the life of the fuel pump....car being half tank its normal....and it doesnt harm the fuel pump... So for me realistically we drive half tank more frequently then having the tank at the lowest level if they knew about the fuel pump thing...

Depends on how you want to drive, but most of the time I use eco mode to save fuel since it reduces the responsiveness of the car when you hit the throttle pedal

I believe you can. Last time I checked, the seller who sold the throttle controller had many different types to accommodate the different plugs from different cars

Hi there! After about a year of using it, the 9-DRIVE throttle controller is still working and serving me well. As a matter of fact, it is still under warranty for about another 11 months so overall, pretty good!

It does actually improve 0-100 time as throttle kicks in faster in ultimate mode giving you faster kick off the line.

used it on a Ford Ranger Wiltrak 2015 model. had it going for about a month then suddenly messed up my ecu. idle rpm increased at about 2000, esc light on and powertrain light on. now its sitting inside my dash unused..

Yes the driver can change the modes while driving, based on my experience

Nope, this device merely adjusts the throttle response. It takes a lot of complex software to mimic cruise control in aftermarket products

Unfortunately the 9 drive does not have such feature, probably because it would be too complicated to programme within the computer chip of the 9 drive and maintain that relatively low price point

I have experienced two instances where the ECU glitched out and caused multiple warning lights to light up but it only triggered the lights-the car was able to run fine. All I had to do was disconnect and reconnect the throttle controller

This will work better only for automatic transmission.

Yes in a way, but power mode (I assume you're referring to the perodua Ativa) only gives more power whereas the throttle controller can also help you conserve fuel as well by controlling the accelerator pedal sensitivity

Well, the overall best mode would be P1.5 (comfort) for quick throttle response when driving and that mode consumes less fuel compared to P3.9 (race) ((obviously)) though I should say, I use the eco mode most of the time

Basically if the throttle response causes the car to move off the line quicker due to the pedal being more sensitive that means it must shave 0.3 of a second 0 to 60

Currently I have removed the connecting wire for about two weeks now and I intend to connect it back once more to see if it has returned to normal. stay tuned for an update video regarding the throttle controller!

Hey man. I use a Proton Preve and I recently installed a throttle controller. After installing it, my traction controller light activates when I go full throttle. Do you have any way I could solve this? I thought if resetting my Ecu but I'm afraid to do so. Please help.
I recommend that you uninstall the throttle controller for a day or two to let your ecu naturally reset and then try installing it again. Though if I may ask, when you go full throttle, what mode would you use? Because the traction controller light would usually turn on when there’s a wheel spin(which can happen if you go full throttle + maximum throttle controller setting)
I use this for my Prius c. it makes a huge difference

Why u test the car with very low fuel in tank? If u do this test with half tank of fuel i think that is better and near real life driving... Who drives a car with so low tank of fuel?

@@WayzerDudefor a car guy normally if we drive a car try to avoid the fuel level at the minimum coz it will shorten the life of the fuel pump....car being half tank its normal....and it doesnt harm the fuel pump... So for me realistically we drive half tank more frequently then having the tank at the lowest level if they knew about the fuel pump thing...

Kereta saya saga flx meter bar minyak kalau full 6 bar. Mostly meter bar minyak saya 3 dan ke bawah. Selalu memang 2 bar je dan drive sampai nyala lampu minyak. Kereta dah 8 tahun. Belum ade lg masalah fuel pump. Saya lagi suka pump minyak banyak kali daripada penuh kan tank dalam masa sama tambah kan beban kereta.

Depends on how you want to drive, but most of the time I use eco mode to save fuel since it reduces the responsiveness of the car when you hit the throttle pedal

Hi there! After about a year of using it, the 9-DRIVE throttle controller is still working and serving me well. As a matter of fact, it is still under warranty for about another 11 months so overall, pretty good!
