- We have a one make race event for you today on Forza Horizon 5, where we all are racing volvo 242 turbo's. However the choice of upgrades was open to built the vehicles to B Class so still some options for the drivers.

I've hit them, that's the reason I now play with rewind on for most races.
Anybody who’s owned a Volvo 240 _(I had an ‘86 244 Intercooled Turbo, much like these cars in Forza but 4-door)_ knows it’s all about those 5-spoke mags. Alex put the bicycle spoke wheel hubs on his Volvo, and thus couldn’t win. Mags are style, style is confidence, and confidence is winning. ;-D
The double light pole bonk with Longbow on Bola Ocho was hilarious. Great last race.

9:56 It really never ceases to amaze me just how bad Forza's check point system is. He was just inches from the flag, a flag placed way too narrow for such a bumpy section.
And then there is the fact that car directly ahead took almost exactly the same line and didn't appear to get penalized.

That red Volvo was a monster.
The standard engine was NOT the way to go. I had a purist build, with barely upgraded tire widths (offroad race) and I was a good 40-50 horsepower down on similar builds with different engines.

What's the power band on those swapped engines like, compared to yours? It's possible that your power lasts for longer than everyone else's, hence the higher PI - Forza tends to discount engines with very narrow bands.
You did magnificently well regardless of your build choices. Good racing!
@@Derpy-qg9hn Standard engine's turbo kicks in in the middle of the rev range and lasts just about to the end. The straight-6 that makes the most sense to use (and is what Alex used) is a gently curved line from bottom to top. Easier to manage _and_ you can get more power out of it.

As a Finn, I salute our western neighbors for making the best cars in the world! This race reminds me of the time I had a dark blue 240, must have been in 1997. After that I had a 945 and an 850. Loved every one of them!

Alex never ever learns ... stay away from the stones on the inside of the corner of the Emerald Circuit. He makes the same mistake in every race.
Easy to talk trash when you're not in the heat of battle and barely hanging onto the cars ahead. It's frustrating to watch but I've done FAR worse in battle and know how easy it is to slip up.

I remember building a V70 Polestar in H4 to the top of B class and it was wonderful and fun. Not the fastest thing for straight line speed, but it handled great and had good acceleration. One of my go to for B class races.

Why don’t you guys try custom circuits now? There’s tons in eventlab which are now highly developed due to the new editing feature featured in the last update
Mine frequently seem to have trouble loading in the props.
They're not really reliable, and tbh, they don't really make very very good racing. It's really difficult to make something that works well. And no one having raced it, people learn at different speeds. It makes it very spread out

Now we have seen a lot of small cars, but how about racing some trucks like the big unimog? Perhaps getting it to A Class on a mixed surface set of races or straight up cross country
If i remember right the Unimog can only reach top of A Class with some kind of road tire, the offroad wilm be a little short of A Class
Ahh, i miss heavly modded 244. Grp a spoiler. Fully poly bushed. 242gt braces and anti roll bars and original volvo rallycross hard spec shocks from the r-sport race parts catalogue.... B21 a with a seriously skimmed 740 turbo 531 head to bump the compression and hotter k code cam. I've never got a chance to turbo it with mega squirt. Old guy in a pug 406 dove into me when i was stopped in traffic. Wrote it off.
I grew up riding in, then driving a brick wagon. There's a lot of love for these cars.
If only I had a ps5 or PC capable enough of running Horizon 5, then I could join in on one of these
with all wheel drive you can get almost any tire compound to sling you around a track in b class

I'm all for the FH5 content but honestly can't wait for FM and crossing all fingers that FR and Crew bring back the big grid circuit races and things like the touring car championships

Is is an idea that you maybe drop the specifics of the cars you build (the upgrades and the tune) in the description? I always love your cars and builds but I am not that good at building cars myself so having an idea what exactly you do would be very interesting and helpful

Could you do a race in forza horizon where you have to make the car within a certain class and it gets assigned to a random person so you have to make it as bad as possible but there is also a chance your car could get assigned to you.
Do y’all tune your cars at all? Or is it just default swapped part settings?

You should do an S1 Porsche vs Ferrari set of races. RWD only. I guess it doesn't have to be S1 I just want to see Porsches vs Ferraris.
Did a little sanity check for your speed issues. Pretty much the only thing that would get you to go faster in a straight line is losing the stock rear wing. I could get an untuned 182 mph out of this car with an otherwise handling build, a race gearbox, and your engine and driveline swap. The stock engine was worse in every way.

You're missing out if you don't watch the last round at least. Same car but they built them differently, so it's not a perfect mirror as if they are all stock.
