Watched the vid on fishing with peas. Already bagging with sweetcorn, so paid 60p for tin of sweetcorn and peas and fished the peas . Result over 60 lbs of Rudd to approching 3lb. Many thanks. Love the channel and vids.
Hi Graeme, found your video re fishing with peas yesterday and thought i'd give it a go today. What a surprise, they actually work. Caught 11 carp with them today and will now take some with me on every fishing trip. Many tahnks.
You're only the second person I have ever seen, that caught on garden peas. All the old books said you could, but I never had a sniff. One day in the very late 70's a stranger came down to our water, took out a jam jar full of garden peas and had an amazing session. The water was 3/4 of an acre and the guy had a net full but many of the fish were hybrids, a species very seldom caught on our pond. We never saw him again and despite many people's best efforts no fish ever succumbed to garden peas again, and I never did catch a hybrid from there in 15 years of angling. That's fishing!
Another great vid fella, sorry if I disturbed you yesterday but had too say hi and thank you both for getting me out the house for the first time In three years. Massive thanks and keep the brilliant vids coming....
i love your vids graham absolutely fantastic back to basics really work, it so easy to forget what you use to catch on years ago thanks for reminding me, gonna always have a tin of peas.. beans in my tackle bag from now on well done m8 cant get enough of your vids tight lines
I think after seeing these results, I think the bags of mixed peas and sweet corn would work brilliantly, the added attraction of the yellow sweetcorn would make for an amazing session! Keep up the good work
excellent video. I've been telling my mates for years to keep it simple. they spend silly amounts of money on tackle and bait. The only thing I would say is get your landing net in earlier, that way you won't spook the fish as it comes up and closer to the net.
Graeme i absolutely love your methods of madness ! ive used a few of these on a few of my local ponds and safe to say they worked a treat. Love the videos, keep em comin !!!
I swear carp are the the dopiest goofiest fish ever😂😂😂 they always do things you never expect, I’ve caught them on worms, I’ve even seen some catch one on the guts of a bullhead catfish. They truly are a remarkable species of fish, so inquisitive and intelligent.
I've brought a cordless drill to the docks i fish from and drill holes to fit pole holders in the dock. The holes are small enough you won't notice them but it makes it real convenient to fish. You could use a threaded rod to hold your bite alarm and stick it in holes drilled in the edge of the dock. Just make sure to drill through the wood so water won't collect and rot the wood.
That is a top idea. Corn is easier to hook and stays on better I would think. But would it defeat peas? Especially if the fish were pre-baited with a mix of both baits for a few days before.
hI, GP, just found another of your great vids involving garden peas, I'll be straight into the chest freezer tomorrow after wifey has left for work, regarding the question of that duck identity, my British wildlife book tells me that it is a Mandarin Duck with beautiful colourations, please keeep the vids coming and thanks to yourself and Mike for taking the time to film, edit and to put on you tube......you are a diamond.
I love fishing I caught my first carp when I was 3 I tried making oil and it worked like a charm I caught my record amount of fish in one day 64. 28 Rudd and 5 bream and I caught 31 crucian
@alanrtment porter who knows. Unless you have some special, all knowing power. Besides, he said A carp, not 31 at 3yo, it would go without saying an adult helped him. Why'd it matter to you anyway?
I realise this is a very old video, but after watching it earlier this week I decided to take a few frozen peas with me on a pole fishing session to a small lake holding most species, including small carp, to 4lb. It’s a hard water to fish, not a commercial “fishing in a bucket” lake. After very little success on paste, pellets nor corn I decided to try a pea as hook bait. 32 Carp (plus 2 Tench and a Rudd) later I can safely say that peas may be my new favourite bait. The two other anglers on the lake thought I was joking when they asked what bait I was using. Thanks for the great tip!
Wow,that's some catch..I think I found tipping the pea with either a maggot or tiny worm also works well .And its just another Supermarket bait that works...
@@TAFishing thank you for the advice. I may try that on a venue with larger specimens. I just watched your “potato” video. Well, in for a penny in for pound …. Looks like par boiled potato cubes will be on the menu for tomorrow’s trip 😁
I even stopped the video for the Canadian geese- 4 of us went down to Arizona golfing in the winter ( from Canada) - we were at a golf course and the managreress found out we were Canadain and demanded we take the geese back to Canada as the geese prefer to do their “Bizzness” on the greens at the golf course- we thought it was hilarious but they are actually very nasty birds, but being friendly Canadians - we share them with every body!! LOL!!
LOVE your videos! Packed with helpful information, especially for folks like me that can't afford to spend big $ on bait and tackle. I love the offbeat bait options you offer. Your joy in fishing is infectious! I love float-fishing for carp on light tackle. It is effective and very fun. Thanks again and keep 'em coming! Useful, beautiful, always fun and entertaining!
That is utterly the best fishing video i have ever seen. I could not believe you could top the catching of carp on the roast dinner video. The challenge is on GP, what other obscure baits do you think you can catch on. I bet you could catch one with a jelly baby, or a piece of pasta. The Budget Bait Challenge !! I would love to see it done. Thumbs up Guys!!
Hi after I watched this video I caught a really nice carp on peas in clear water I chimed a lot and the carp took the bait my brother said it would not work but I worked really well for me keep your awesome videos up I really enjoy watching them!
I never tried that in the USA but back to Ukraine where I Bulgarian by descent, was born, I would fish carp like this: get about 4 to 5 inch ripe yellow dry peas in the bucket, soak it in water overnight and in the morning go to the lake. would disperse that in a square about 15x10 meters some 30 meters from the shore. Right away start casting, 20 plus years ago that was, the lake was rural, and local officials gave us zero restrictions on the number of rods we could use. I typically would cast 10 of them lined up one by one. In an hour the bite would start, and I would absolutely go nuts trying to reel in everywhere, I would run from line to line like a jet engine was in my butt, so spectacular the bite was at times
Found your video after a search on using peas. I use frozen peas to feed fish in my aquarium. I use frozen because it is easier to peel them. The fish go nuts over them. I have a 2" bluegill that will take them almost whole and once I drop them in he eats most.
I prefer back winding as I feel in more control rather than the slipping clutch method. Works for me having caught many double figure barbel including one of 13lb 13ooz. from the river Colne.
Have you ever tried a dual drag system? You can set one drag to nothing and as soon as you crank you have your fighting drag on. Shammano makes some that are not too pricey. That is all I use for carp the reason being they can be quite big and if you are not watching you could loose your whole rig! With the dual drag, they would have to run with say 200 to 300 yards of line before they can take the rod and reel. And I don't think anyone would not be looking for that long.
I had some good results on pre cooked kidney beans in sugar water quite a few years back, and was out catching all the carpers using boilies. It was not a fluke either as I repeated this a few times. Great vid again and look forward to your next adventure
Excellent Mr Pullen. I'm always interested to try the natural and innovative baits. I actually fish light lure rods a lot which also give a lovely bend in the rod.
alanrtment porter very true not very nice to eat specially wouldn’t be over here some of the lakes are descusting i have pulled so many dog litter bags from the bottom it’s grim and over here if u we’re to take them out u can go to prison and a lot of the time it’s the polish that take them because in Poland carp is tradition but there’s so many fish u can get from the sea that are legal to take and taste nice so why carp it really anoys me because some of the owner spend so much money on these carp
What a day! I'd not believed it without seeing it! WOW! BRAVO!! I'll be trying peas when I get back out in spring here in Pennsylvania, USABTW we don't have those real fancy ducks here but I've seen their pictures in books, and use a similar flank feather (wood duck male) for certain patterns in fly tying. Thanks for the great channel, it's very informative and funny!!
Next video should be with beans :)).... Uncle uses them to catch 30-40 lbs tench and carp...I really like light tackle too.... but sometimes you feel powerless to do anything about where the fish want's to go, especially with tench that act like damn submarines
Ha! Brilliant. Not sure if I'm watching fishing or comedy! Very entertaining, especially winding over your shoulder. I'll be trying the peas very soon!
Wow, I'm super late for this one aye. Going to try this over in Wisconsin on lake Michigan. For the last 6 years the only bait I use for commons is apple sauce cake in a spawn sack for open waters and a white twisty tail on a quarter once white jig head for night fishing bridges. Both work amazing but those peas out did any good day I've ever had. Thanks for the tip
It was only yesterday that I was wondering what it would be like to fish with peas. And today I've seen your video. Awesome! And I love fishing at Old Bury Hill as well. Carp love anise.I take white bread roll it into a dough ball and dip it in pure anise.Hang on because they love it.
I ❤ it when your videos come up on my recommended...they always make a great watch 👍🏻
Why on earth has got dislikes on his videos. It shouldn’t be allowed. Give him the thumb up option. And leave it at that. What a guy!
Thank you so much for the idear me and my dad caught about 18 carp yesterday and i also caught a golden carp with peas 😀😀

Finally a proper use for frozen peas, I may have to liberate some from the freezer. thanks
Lol I have too many peas in the fridge but have no carp here in where I live
I guess I'm kinda randomly asking but does anyone know of a good site to watch new tv shows online ?

Male mandarin duck. They originally escaped from collections but now they breed here! Oh & some great carp too😉 I’ll be getting the peas out next session
I love the idea that home made v block it cools 👍
This is the second video of yours i watched. Quite nice. If I can make a suggestion, for better hit ratio, use hair rigs. It will work better in terms of strike ration in hooking the carp as they suck the whole rig in which insures better hook setting. Just a suggestion.

when you get a fish like that first one you have to just keep the rod tip half an inch above the water and put steady pressure on it
hey guys, that's a mandarin duck. am ornamental species from Asia I believe. happy fishing
It's a mallard
What a class act, proper old skool, I'm off down asda for 10 bags of frozen peas and corn lol
