My daughter was born with significant hearing loss in her right ear, and completely lost all hearing in right ear so she stopped benefiting from a regular hearing aid. So glad she was approved for Baha system, she will have the surgery in 2 weeks. I'm going to share this video with her. She struggles to in school- kindergarten, so I'm hopeful that this will help. Thank you for sharing
If this helps, I got my left ear reconstructed at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital when I was like 3. I had a hearing aid for a while then I became deaf in my left ear and I got the Osia2. I am 12 and I have had 12 surgeries. I hope everyone else in this comment session who has something going on has a smoother ride then me. I’ve had about 1-3 surgeries every year.
Question what is that black microphone that you attach on the shirt, do you have to use it a the time anywhere you go or is just for having conversations?
Thank you for your question. The device that the teacher is wearing on her shirt is the Wireless Mini Microphone. To answer your question about whether you have to use it all the time anywhere, the mini microphone is typically used only in settings where a recipient needs a little extra help to hear, for example in noisy restaurants, or when attending religious services or places with a lot of background noise. Well I’m going to have my baha surgery January 24 2020 I’m excited I’ve been deaf through my left ear since I was 7!!!! And hopefully in April I’ll be having surgery done on my right earlobe to remove that tumor
Thank you my surgery went well I’m now at the recovery stage I had no problems after my surgery I’m of course on antibiotics but no pain pills!!! All I took was Tylenol not the other stuff they prescribed me
I’m so happy for you Katelyn!! I got a Osia surgery recently as well. I had a tumor in my left ear known as cholesteotoma and then I had a hearing aid, slowly became deaf in that ear and then got an Osia. It is the best thing ever.

I have the mini mic that the teacher uses that way when there is excessive background noise or just in general, I can’t still hear her clearly.
May I know, where did Bella do the ear reconstruction?
