I was expected to lay out all the money and take a photo so they can count that I didn't steal any money haha 🤣 the team were very entitled and didn't want to listen to me about anything. They thought calling clients "babe" was acceptable. Customers were crazy as well... had a guy on drugs come in claiming he knew the owner and we needed to give him new shoes. The security guard we had on at the time was some tiny Indian girl who was scared so I had to call the police. Just madness...a whole different world there. Oh also no one is happy at work and complained about everything. It's a no from me and also the quality is actually pretty shit. We would have special orders for customers and they would arrive scuffed and they wanted us to sell this... so embarrassing! We would try to argue with head office that these custom shoes aren't sellable but they told us to figure it out. 🙄

It seems like these companies put so much effect into the calendar itself and then say, 'Yeah, just throw in any samples that fit the boxes. And put in anything else that didn't sell!'
If you do this again next year, you should consider the Ritual calendar. They always have a design that turns into a gorgeous holiday decoration, plus a really nice variety of their products. (I don't recall you mentioning them but their products seem up your alley.) It's not as expensive as this but it fills that similar decor use.
I bought the premium one this year and it is absolutely amazing. It has a little DIY vibe, I put it together with my sister and we abslutely loved it and also love the opening of each day.
Yeeeeah ill keep my $20 Trader Joes advent calendar 😂 ive loved every single day so far and am planning on buying a few full sized versions of what was in the calendar. Ive had so much fun opening it
Imagine opening this and the last calendar together on day 2, and learning the butt candle is the better item Jokes aside, I did really enjoy seeing these calendar opening videos. It's like vicarious Christmas shopping
19 minutes in when you said “that jingle gangle sound so help me” I actually laughed out loud. This wasn’t the finale I was expecting, but it was definitely entertaining!
I am so disappointed. I don’t want little samples. I got one from a store from different brands and all it had was samples and what hurt me more was that my mom purchased them. She was told there was full size products, luxury products. In one little tube of foundation couldn’t even cover half my face. 😢
They should have put all of the samples vials in one day, all of the charms in one day & given the full size mascara, that way they could have put some other decent items in the days that the samples/charms took up
That sucks that they took a 7 perfume sample set that they sell for $60 and split it among 7 days. That's less than $10 per day. Also, how many days were wasted on that one lipstick component? I would only buy a branded advent calendar if I knew they made a bunch of different products. The Sephora calendars suck but at least there's a chance at different products. Same with Elf and Ulta.
This is my first time seeing one of your videos. I’ve been wanting a luxury advent calendar… I just want to thank you for taking one for the team. I will continue to live vicariously through you rather than waste hundreds of dollars on samples!
When I sold perfume, many years ago, I discovered that I had "the gift" too! Big deal! That, plus $5, might buy me a small coffee. It's fun to impress your friends though. LOL!
Biiiitchh nooooo 😭 Criminal! Lol. Honestly for me, your reactions made it all worth it... keeping in mind that I an not the one who spent the $600 on this. Whyyyyy. Not all heros wear capes 👏🏻
I didn't realise they had so many perfumes... the minis are cute, the vials on the other hand. I don't think they want to give you value like other calendars (SpaceNK, Cult Beauty etc.). I even saw a video on the Dior one that cost like 5400 dollars and she calculated that you pay over 2000 dollars more compared to buying the individual items.
what Ive learned from all these advent calendars is that stores are either filling them with their misprints and seconds to grab cash or straight up filling it with samples far less than the value, thinking itll be a gift and no one can complain about gifts and arent going to return it. I appreciate youtubers doing these, you are saving others from getting ripped off.
Oh Lauren lol - what a BS calendar. I feel your disappointment. Ugh I feel sorry for anyone that actually bought this and expected nice items. This does not scream luxury at all.
"The bar is set in hell" had me rolling. 😂😂 I'm sorry this was such a dud. I've really enjoyed the whole advent calendar series but what a crock for $600. 😑😑
Does the light up packaging make up for the butt candle?😂 I've been Leery of this brand because I bought a nail polish. It's better as a bougie weapon, than an actual nail polish. It chips !
My theory: Brand boxes suck more because they aren't trying to gain new customers. The obvious ploy for the beauty store and the department store ones is marketing - the brand featured in there have received some kind of business proposal from the company putting the box together to participate, have received information on what kind of ROI / conversion they can expect from participating and how that likely increases by x percentage points for every dollar of value they contribute. It also explains the cheapo, dinky shit you got in the Sephora / Ipsy / Whatever boxes - they probably couldn't sell all the spots and so had to cover those days (and avoid too much loss on the box) themselves and that's why you got office party leftovers. Conversely, as you've said, unless you are already a customer of these brands, the likelihood that you are gonna get one of these brand-specific calendars is EXTREMELY low, so they don't need to sell you on anything. Are they doing you dirty at that price point with that junk? 1000% yes, but the philosophy makes gross sense. I'd stick with the beauty store / department store ones!
OMG, LAUREN!!! I was not prepared for this advent calendar! What a rip off! As much as you’re hoping to get a good value for the items in an advent calendar, you’re also hoping to get some special things and not multiple days of sample items or cheap charms. Like maybe if that had only been a few days to pad things out, but wow. I hate to say it but I laughed so hard a few times as samplegate continued. Well, now we know for next year. Go British and stick to something like Selfridges or Liberty. Loved the series, and thank you so much for taking us along on the ride!
@@ChristChickAutistic they do! Shipping is pricey but there is an option to pay some flat rate amount annually to get shipping for the year. My friend has done it before and said it was convenient. So I might take a look and see if that ends up being a good option for me this year.
We’re selling out these Luxury Brand Advent Calendars making these companies rich and we’re getting poor, but hey, at least we have their sample size crap.
Sometimes the ONLY good thing about the calendars are the packaging!! Loved the lantern, definitely one you can use over and over, even for romantic centrepiece lighting for an anniversary dinner❤ and this will be a nice Christmas decoration.. but some are very disappointing (like who does the lipstick case and not the lipstick?...PLUS the refill in one of the other days!😢😮)

Lol this calendar is just... wow...😅 I would love to see you do a video rating all the advent calendars from best to worst and maybe next year doing an advent calendar recommendation video on the ones that are worth it from your experiences.
When did retailers flip the switch from these advent calendars being a bargain & a means to try everything inexpensively, to them way overcharging & defrauding all of us?
The only way I could see this as worth it is if you could trade in your favourite sample for a large size of the fragrance. It would be a nice tester library, but otherwise, this one was just gross.
You bought a 600$ calendar which contains 600$ worth items, roughly. The issue is simply the ridiculous cost of this brand, not the calendar itself, in my opinion. Again, they sell those charms for 20$, people buy them, this is the problem.
This was completely pathetic!! What the heck? I feel like the charms would be more excusable if those 7 samples had been real mini perfumes, and they should have had a real full size mascara.
It seems a lot of brands really flopped. The Swarovski advent calender has been one of the worst reviewed I’ve seen from videos of people opening them because everyone ended up with these tiny really generic looking ornaments that did not justify the price and this seems to be on par with several other High End cosmetic and skincare calendars as well.
I received the LoubiRouge sample as a free gift with purchase of the Allure Beauty Box. It was the same exact one you received, except mine came in a cute box.
This is disgusting! I'd be so pissed if I received any of that crap for 600 bucks!! A calendar full of perfume, overpriced, undersized, and sample perfume. Really?? Glad I don't buy from places like that! They'd hate my ass! Refund would be coming to me no matter what.
Hey Lauren, advent calendars are to count down to Christmas, so you start with number 24. You opened it back to front. That's why you opened the bigger items first. They were supposed to be last. Just so you know for next time x
My daughter is 12 and she was given a watch for her birthday by my sister. The watch was on a chain link bracelet that came with about 10 of those cheap little charms that could be attached (hers actually came with clasps lol.) As soon as I saw those lipstick charms, I thought, "Hey!! They coppied off of Forever 21!!" lol. That cheap shit should NEVER be classified as *_LUXURY_* and you were right to be angry and insulted. It was not worth the price point by any means.
I’d be pissed!! That was so so disappointing!! They should be ashamed!! The money that company has and they took yours for a trainload of sh!+!!😢 so sorry!! I did love this series!! I wouldn’t keep the train set either!!😊

It seems like these companies put so much effect into the calendar itself and then say, 'Yeah, just throw in any samples that fit the boxes. And put in anything else that didn't sell!'
The $5400 Dior one is so much worse
If you do this again next year, you should consider the Ritual calendar. They always have a design that turns into a gorgeous holiday decoration, plus a really nice variety of their products. (I don't recall you mentioning them but their products seem up your alley.) It's not as expensive as this but it fills that similar decor use.
I bought the premium one this year and it is absolutely amazing. It has a little DIY vibe, I put it together with my sister and we abslutely loved it and also love the opening of each day.
Omg that was SO disappointing but I loved watching you open it all 😂
My Mom is a CL buyer, has been for years. It’s her favorite brand. She got this for herself and was so disappointed, I felt so bad 😭
Yeeeeah ill keep my $20 Trader Joes advent calendar 😂 ive loved every single day so far and am planning on buying a few full sized versions of what was in the calendar. Ive had so much fun opening it
Imagine opening this and the last calendar together on day 2, and learning the butt candle is the better item
Jokes aside, I did really enjoy seeing these calendar opening videos. It's like vicarious Christmas shopping
Clicked so fast. This will be total crap, I already know it😂
Bahahha, my thoughts exactly. Last minute cash grab😂
Ding ding ding!!
The expensive ones always are it seems😢
Haha tell me why I thought it might actually be good… 🤣🙃
@@LaurenMaeBeauty there is always hope 😂 the charms and free samples killed me.
19 minutes in when you said “that jingle gangle sound so help me” I actually laughed out loud. This wasn’t the finale I was expecting, but it was definitely entertaining!
I think I'd rather buy a pair of their shoes for $600 than this 😆 Great video!! LOVED advent calendar week!
"The bar is set in hell"...Im dead 😂😂 i feel for you but the fails are my favorite videos simply cuz I love your reactions
I am so disappointed. I don’t want little samples. I got one from a store from different brands and all it had was samples and what hurt me more was that my mom purchased them. She was told there was full size products, luxury products. In one little tube of foundation couldn’t even cover half my face. 😢
They should have put all of the samples vials in one day, all of the charms in one day & given the full size mascara, that way they could have put some other decent items in the days that the samples/charms took up
The viles should have been one day together.
Anyway, this was a good laugh. Thank you. ♥ 🎄
You’re so good at detecting the scent notes! It’s fun and inspiring to watch you! 💖✨
I was going to comment this. It is absolutely impressive to me how she can pick them
When I sold perfume, many years ago, I discovered that I had "the gift" too! Big deal! That, plus $5, might buy me a small coffee. It's fun to impress your friends though. LOL!
The designer version of the Sephora advent. 😒
Not even as useful as scrunchies.
At least there's more variety in the Sephora calendar.
@@WendyandBradPitt just an unscented butt candle
@@tracyfrederick5606 a whaattttt lol
Biiiitchh nooooo 😭 Criminal! Lol. Honestly for me, your reactions made it all worth it... keeping in mind that I an not the one who spent the $600 on this. Whyyyyy. Not all heros wear capes 👏🏻
Can you return it? Or write to them? Is there a way for you to get your money back? This is just too outrageous
There's no way to get your money back on an advent calendar.
I really enjoy a failed advent calendar because you’re so funny! 😂
“This is a little bit insulting”
Louboutin: waaaait for it, you’ve seen nothing yet
Jingle Bells, Batman smells, Boutin laid an egg! 😮😂
Does the light up packaging make up for the butt candle?😂
I've been Leery of this brand because I bought a nail polish.
I'm starting to think it would be better to find/make an empty calendar and fill it yourself.
These luxury advents are like they spat in your face and expect payment for it 😂.
I wonder if Selfridge's ships to the US.
@@ChristChickAutistic they do! Shipping is pricey but there is an option to pay some flat rate amount annually to get shipping for the year. My friend has done it before and said it was convenient. So I might take a look and see if that ends up being a good option for me this year.
@@lavieenlavande thanks! 😁
The lipstick case inflated to $55 really foretold the pain... And then it just got worse over time
I looooved this series! Thank you for doing it, even if this is how it ended 🤣😬
We’re selling out these Luxury Brand Advent Calendars making these companies rich and we’re getting poor, but hey, at least we have their sample size crap.
You are killing me!!!!!! So appreciate your honesty...and humor. Thank You.
I was crying laughing watching you go awwwwwfff about their cheap boxes 😂😂😂😂 SUBSCRIBED ❤️❤️
I legit laughed watching this video, in the throes of postpartum, so thank you! You’re too funny! Only standup comedian videos have been able to make me laugh lately. This calendar was so awful. Who puts charms on their lipstick?? So many charms, yet an unusable lipstick.
I'm also pp, I hope your doing ok!!!
It gets better… when they start sleeping more, you’ll sleep more. Much love, Mamas! And remember, you’ve GOT to laugh or else you’re gonna cry! ❤️🌷
@@aimeewank7859 since posting, she’s now sleeping 12 hours a night! I’m so happy ♥️
4 days pp and struggling with feeding my baby on the breast - third time mom, but it is always such hard work getting the flow with baby. I see you momma. Hang in there, you are doing so well! 💪♥️ Loved this video too. Feeling annoyed at such a horrible box while enjoying the reactions really works wonders taking your mind off things.
You saved me money this year. I really really REALLY wanted to get an advent calendar. I’m not made of money at all but I really wanted to be happy surprised and find cool stuff and just be fancy. You saved me from ones I almost got and I didn’t end up getting a single one. Maybe next year? Depends on what you see and say. So thank you for all these ♥️♥️♥️
Girl I want chocolate in an advent calendar- give me Houston, Sweet Shop truffles for an advent calendar!
Dang, girl, I could have walked around my house finding stuff and made you a better advent calendar than that, and for a lot less!!!
This is my first video of yours but I’m definitely going to subscribe and watch more! I lost it at 19:05 when you’re saying, “So help me. So help me.” So funny!
Lol this calendar is just... wow...😅
I would love to see you do a video rating all the advent calendars from best to worst and maybe next year doing an advent calendar recommendation video on the ones that are worth it from your experiences.
Your reactions and silent screams are killing me 😂
I watched this video with my mouth open and I just realized it... these "luxury" brands are delulu, this is a shame
I just LOVE the shade ur throwing and give zero F's that its a designer brand. Yea they screwed people over FOR SURE!!!
Omg all those vials!! Every time you unboxed one I was on my couch yelling “nooooo!!!”
I bought my sister in law a charm advent calendar that cam with a necklace and bracelet to add the charms too. It was really nice, and only cost 6.99!
Not sure which is worse this advent calendar or the P.Louise that had empty boxes😂.
“Well the bar is set in hell so..” 😆
I love this series! I hope you do it again next year 😊
Ahh Thank you!! So glad you liked it!! I definitely have plans to bring it back next year!! ❤️😊
You bought a 600$ calendar which contains 600$ worth items, roughly. The issue is simply the ridiculous cost of this brand, not the calendar itself, in my opinion. Again, they sell those charms for 20$, people buy them, this is the problem.
Perfect for the "lipstick charm" lover in your life!
This was completely pathetic!! What the heck? I feel like the charms would be more excusable if those 7 samples had been real mini perfumes, and they should have had a real full size mascara.
This is my first video I've seen of yours. You are hilarious!. I'm so glad I found your channel.
You were on the train to Bullshit Town
This confirms it, ppl that buy louey are being played. Lol
Hey Lauren, advent calendars are to count down to Christmas, so you start with number 24. You opened it back to front. That's why you opened the bigger items first. They were supposed to be last. Just so you know for next time x
That's crazy anything they can do to make a buck even take free samples and make it into a set to sell for $60 is insane to me... Great video 💙💛❤💚💜
Big brands trying to get rid of their low selling products again! These advent calendars are always terrible but thank you for the awesome video.
I have REALLY enjoyed this series. Your reactions are my favorite 😂 I hope you do this again next year!
My daughter is 12 and she was given a watch for her birthday by my sister.
The watch was on a chain link bracelet that came with about 10 of those cheap little charms that could be attached (hers actually came with clasps lol.)
As soon as I saw those lipstick charms, I thought, "Hey!! They coppied off of Forever 21!!" lol.
That cheap shit should NEVER be classified as *_LUXURY_* and you were right to be angry and insulted. It was not worth the price point by any means.
Clicked immediately when I saw the title. Spicy Lauren is the best Lauren.
I would do a chargeback due to false advertising with that mess
I’d be pissed!! That was so so disappointing!! They should be ashamed!! The money that company has and they took yours for a trainload of sh!+!!😢 so sorry!! I did love this series!! I wouldn’t keep the train set either!!😊
Lauren... I could watch you open these callendars from hell all year round, not just in December - purely cause of your sassy personality. I hate to see you suffer, but I love to see your attitude haha.
