When preparing source code for a new model, it's very common to put placeholder values in, until the official specs are released. Don't jump to conclusions based on this. Regarding the 125 mph top speed of the Long Range model - this has nothing to do with sound insultation! When approaching top speed, air resistance or drag is 99% of the limiting factor compared to weight. Weight has impact on acceleration, but the Higland LR model actually weighs 4 lbs LESS than before. With EV's the max RPM's of the motor often is the limiting factor to top speed. In case of the new LR, Tesla might simply have put a software limit on the top speed. Regarding the 145 vs 162 mph top speed of the Performance model, this is the same as before - you had to have the spoiler attached by Tesla for them to unlock the 162 mph top speed.
That’s bc you have to buy the aboost in order to get 0-60 in 2.7 seconds. The range is less bc of the staggered set up 275/30/20 rear and 235/35/20 front you lose about 10% in range with staggered set up. However, it looks so much better with the wider tires and handles a lot better or the roads (IMO). Rumor also has it being priced at 57,990 which I hope that’s not true. We would definitely not see a tax credit 😏
Thanks for the summary but you missed something very important which is the Legacy M3 performance comes with nice 20” wheel that can deliver 315 range while the new one does not.
That’s true, I did leave that out. Although the new M3L does have those aero inserts now that may increase range. They might just be underestimating the numbers this time around?
The old Performance has its Peak Power at 78kph, the new one at 110 kph, so this numbers could be true....The 0-200 kph of the new P is for sure much faster...
This may be a stretch but it would be nice if Tesla offered the standard performance with specs similar to current model 3 performance so that they could keep that price under $55k for tax credit purposes and then similar to acceleration boost on DM you add Ludicrous package for another $5k or so after purchase.
It’s coming. Same motor as the previous LR, they’re probably holding off until the perf is released so it doesn’t clash with the numbers. The LR with acel boost is too good

The long range is 341 with 18inch wheels and 305 with 19inch wheels the performance is will definitely be 270-280 miles of range with the 275/35/20 rear tires 2.5-3.2 0-60 and 10.5-11 sec quarter mile time
You’re probably right with those numbers. Although with EPA’s recent stricter requirements, maybe the 310 shown is pretty accurate and the ludicrous model is more efficient with the aero caps now compared to previous Uber turbines
You are terrible at getting to the point :) and yes 3.2 sounds strange, that would just be a marketing stunt and not actually living up to the name. And would not be reason to delay it. I have been calling for a plaid 3 because there is no physics reason that heavy S should be performance king and I'm guessing Elon is delivering. My guess would be like 2.5 or 2.6. I have the 3P and would like to upgrade but it would be nice if Tesla would offer insurance in Europe as well, they are getting a little testy on the performance model.
@@heyJohnEe Facts, not to mention plenty of bargains on Model S P100D’s with Ludicrous and Performance Model S with Ludicrous all under $50k. Might be a good alternative except it’s just bigger
You take too damn long to get to the point and there’s no need to shout into the mic. Just my unsolicited two cents. New Ludacris numbers suck if this is true. Total trash over the performance.
UPDATE: Tesla has begun setting up the event to announce the car this week, here's where everything's at ua-cam.com/video/axsuyHrFRxY/v-deo.html

Hey John, I'm counting on you to alert me the second that this Ludicrous 3 goes on sale!
I'm also counting on these specs to be wrong...😮
I gotchu on the first part, you can count on me for that 💯 the other half im holding my breath hoping it’s not true too
When you ask Elon how's the highland and ludicrous? What are those? We don't have any products named that lol
He didn’t even acknowledge the word “highland” even though their parts catalog and website references to highland everywhere 😂

I’m thinking they’re nuking the performance and allowing a boost purchase

You’re confusing LR + acceleration boost w new ludicrous variant, brother
LR with acceleration boost will not reach 3.2sec

Definitely a great idea!
What about Acceleration boost for the highland Long range ?

@@heyJohnEe sure it’s coming ? Same numbers as previous LR or maybe a bit faster when the ludicrous is even faster ?
@Xeniix I was able to confirm this, that it’s coming. Same numbers as previous boost
@@heyJohnEe great news! I am hopeing some much it’s coming for me highland LR :D

Good points
Run what ya Brung will tell the true story, especially against the germans and the other high performance EVs. Very Exciting! Thanks John Ee.
Definitely! Tesla has something special for the M3L to compete against the Germans no doubt, they probably have a few on hand for testing I’m sure

If those downgrades numbers are true, Model 3 ludicrous sales would tank. Who would be buying those?
I mean it can’t tank if there’s no sales and deliveries yet
Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen das der neue trotz 100 PS mehr langsamer ist und auch nur 3,2 auf 100 :-( das wäre echt shit.
Aber echt
I don’t know if there are any surprises in the high-performance version of the new model 3
I’m sure they have some additional surprises, or I hope so 🤞

Trust me I can get to the point much quicker, but the entire video would be 20 seconds long. Might as well publish it ok TikTok :)
Initial specs are disappointing for sure! If this is true I would probably just buy a used 2022-23 M3P for $20k less
The legacy Model 3s are a bargain right now, crazy deals out there for the perf too!
