Actually, sometimes they don't have a choice. I don't think they enjoy it all that much, no singer likes to lip sync, because it can be very obvious to the audience and it can ruin their reputations and all. But what can they do if they were told there was no band, or no stereo system in the studio for them to sing live with? Or the stage is such a crappy place the quality of sound sucks on live TV? Well, just part of being in show business I guess, so it's understandable.
