    Been a doctor for 10 years and had always learnt:
    "If the leads I & II point towards each other, its RIGHT"
    "If the leads I & II point away from each other , its LEFT ; 'They're LEAVing each other"
    "If the leads are pointing the same direction - its normal"
    Pretty crude but a helpful way to remember it. But to be honest, I never had it explained to me with the diagram which makes a lot more sense now regarding the physiology!
