I've had a chance to use the Si Compact for a couple of shows and sold one to a customer. The update of the firmware make some good changes to how the console deals with saving shows. For a compact mixer it feels very analog to use and is very easy to get a great mix from. With 16 outputs it kicks the LS9 in the ass and with graphic eqs on every output realy sweetens the deal. I will say that the only let down with it is that in an outside gig the coloured buttons are very difficult to see.
you didnt mention anything about the mic pre's or the converters.... does this console have any? i like everything else i hear but i am not buying until i know that info.
it is just those gummy pads, I have had pads like that b4 there not a huge problem...don't hit the pad at an angle and you won't have that issue. if you noticed he had no trouble when he had the tip of his finger over it directly but upon relaxing his hand and sliding his finger down the button is when it stuck.

Does anyone know if the firewire option streams all channels to a Daw and vice versa ? Couldn't find much info on a Web search.
can someone help me with explaining what does the "error code 8" in the event log mean? my console does not load previous saved shows.

Yeah, that EQ button just got stuck, that is a HUUUGE problem.. it looks like an extremely cheap midi controller :((
