Violence Intervention and Interruption

This webinar helps youth justice practitioners, community service providers, local government partners and law enforcement workers to better understand their role in gun vio­lence reduc­tion strate­gies.
The session features an abbre­vi­at­ed ver­sion of the Nation­al Insti­tute for Crim­i­nal Jus­tice Reform (NICJR) train­ing on build­ing a sus­tain­able strat­e­gy for gun vio­lence reduc­tion. NICJR was joined by YouthALIVE!, a non­prof­it direct ser­vice provider in Oak­land, Califor­nia, that works with youth and young adults who are involved in gun violence. In addi­tion to dis­cussing how to iden­ti­fy indi­vid­u­als at high risk for imme­di­ate involve­ment in gun vio­lence, pre­sen­ters shared near-term inter­ven­tions for reduc­ing gun vio­lence.
The Annie E. Casey Foundation hosted the webinar. The ses­sion is a com­pan­ion to a 2023 webi­nar on gun vio­lence prevention, also hosted by the Foundation.
