Asahikawa is a basin and the cold winter is severe. Other than that, I think it's a comfortable city to live in.

I know I'm late to comment, but when was the video taken? Honestly I'd love to live in a city where there's snow until May.
This video was shot in March. No town in Hokkaido has snow remaining until May; most of it melts by April.
