Hobgoblin war/abjuration wizards with medium armor feat are awesome. Beefy medium and shield proficiency while keeping full spell slot and class spell progression. If you cast multiple cantrip effects with prestidigitation on an object(warm, flavor, cool, mark, color, or symbols have a 3 at a time limit and last an hour non concentration) you can expend a dispel magic slot to get 3 more charges after a rest. You can max it out by casting the light spell on the object too, may not be worth having both cantrips though. War wizards importance of the ability to reliably roll high initiative can’t be understated. Wizard spells can change entire conflicts, being able to cast those spells before the enemies can react and set up can be crazy.
I love the information that Will brings to the table. As a new DnDer, his insight is invaluable. I also love Brian's enthusiasm. I found this podcast on iTunes a few weeks ago and have been listening to every episode from the beginning and have gotten to about the halfway mark so far. Easily my favorite resource for learning about DnD. I feel like I am very much like Brian! When this podcast started, he was new to DnD as well. We learned about DnD together!
I love the blade singer and prefer to go straight bladesinger. but you have to remember you still get only wizard's hp pool. Best thing i found is play it as a regular wizard, using your spells, but with Bladesong active if people get ontop of you, unlike other mages you will be hard to hit, and skill with a blade mixed with boomingblade and greenflame blade, or steel wind strike can make melee enemies regret ever getting close to you.
Thanks, guys! Btw, I am one wizard who actually likes to go last on initiative, only because it gives me the ability to intelligently implement my spells more usefully, after the initial scene/round plays itself out.
Going first under your prospective basically gives you two actions in the first round. (First in the next round could be consider as being last in the prior round since the seance will be the same.) Going last means being one action behind. And also means enemies are likely having more actions.
The first thing that came to mind for your hobgoblin bladesinger was rattling bone jewelry. Made from the bones of your enemies, they rattle loudly in time with your dance. They could serve as spell focuses and/or be the source of your class features.
Favorite character was a Bladesinger/Hunter Ranger. Once I got to somewhere around level 14 I multiclassed into Grave domain Cleric. AC bonus from mage armor, bladesong, shield, and haste batted aside almost any attack that wasn't a natural 20, and multiattack defense kept anyone from getting a second hit. (he was a character in the second and third campaign of the setting; died at the very end of the second!)
In the second name of the wind Kvothe is not the only one outside the "culture" to learn their way people join and stay all the time he just learnt before he joined and was aloud and didn't stay
I’m from the future and if you want to know splacks future Watch Super Quest Saga All I can say is he dance with all heart Till he could dance no more He Burned bright and fell hard Prayers for slacks quick recovery
Hey Gentlemen! Love all of your videos and all the content you put out. However there is something that I have seen and I was really looking forward to a potential video. If at all possible could you guys make a video covering the “Elder Elementals” and everything there is to know about them? Thank you guys for all that you do and the effort you put into it! Love you guys! Shoutout to demigorgon!
The Battlerager isn’t as bad as you said, it’s definitely grappling based but free HP a turn and the ability to dash as a bonus action is pretty good at low levels and the capstone for the archetype is free damage. Also, please do the Ravnica guilds.
BTW, Patrick is NEVER going to finish the 3rd book. He's a victim of his own success. He has probably written several drafts and just doesn't think they're good enough. Every year he waits, the pressure builds and the expectation grows. I've made my peace with it. You've made me rethink the war wizard.
Your blade singer hobgoblin should not be a blade singer. but they should rename it. ... I think something like Sword Stompa or blade boogie blaster :)
will you ever cover non official classes or races and potentially rate them in balance, there is a swordmage class from the dungeons masters guild that ive used (By Anthony Turco).
@@Thedungeoncast The game is big surprise for me to be honest, altrough it had a rough start. Most of the bugs are now fixed. That was the main reason why it had a lot of bad reviews on Steam at the release, but now It's doing just fine. As much as I can tell characters are flashed out really nicely storywise(that pessimistic dwarf) and in leveling aspects as well. Story is really thematic and catchy and I think you'll love voice acting of the characters(Linzi the gnome bard who is basically the narrator of the story). Gameplay can be as brutal as you can imagine with all those dices rolling, but I don't think that will be a problem :D. Who likes easy games anyway. So all in all if I would have to recommend a game which was released fairly recently for a guy who likes tabletop RPGs, it would be I think this one

I had this idea for a Hobgoblin Eldritch Knight/War Wizard that is all about battlefield control and making those Con saves to maintain concentration.
Bladesinger+Toughness feat+Mage Armor+Blur+Shield+Absorb Elements=Unkillable
WAIT DID THAY JUST SAY FANTASY PHYSICS FOR COSMIC BEINGS!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I love blade singer, I'm running a BS2/ AT rogue 5, currently, and its hella fun. Shadow blade, and whip, AOOs for days.
also shield, helps with the tankiness
Here’s a character idea, mountain dwarf war wizard, you get a small thick boy with a battle axe and armor that spanks you with war magic
In the second name of the wind Kvothe is not the only one outside the "culture" to learn their way people join and stay all the time he just learnt before he joined and was aloud and didn't stay
Awesome episode!
I’m from the future and if you want to know splacks future Watch Super Quest Saga

The DC for concentration is 10 or half of the damage whichever is higher.

Always great to see your take on the different classes. Are you also going to have a review on guild masters guide to ravnica?
Love it, I'd love it if you guys picked up atlas exterus and did stuff on mechanus, limbo, mount Celestia and the 7 heavens .
We have plans to!

If I had watched this before SQS I would have flipped out when splack showed up.
When you're a wizard, everyone is off too see you :)
Bladesinger is awesome
If you thought fighters were shit before, just wait until you see the blade singer.

I love Sword Stompa.
Wow I can't wait to be a whisperingly witty warmonger warlock
BS 8 / AT 12 is so much fun.
I miss the Sword Mage from 4e, blade singer just isnt the same.
blood hunter class
i just made an Air Genasi bladesinger that was born to elven parents, i wanted to try and keep with the lore but i didnt wanna play an elf, again. lol
Will you make a video about magic ?

Kingkiller conicals ftw
I mean, wizards are cool and all, but the guy in the thumbnail looks like a plains walker to me 🤷🏻♂️
IMA WARLOCK!!!
Guys you should check up Pathfinder: Kingmaker :) Great game
I have been eyeing it. how is it?

Nice! We may decide to record our playthrough and post it on our gaming channel!
I made a wizard homebrew that instead of spells he used memes
Magical Beasts 2 is suffering from bad writing.
