I am absolutely loving Oklahoma. I have one delivery left to make for the event, going up to Woodward. I always love watching your videos to see what you think of the new DLCs too. Something that may help you out when turning at night, like when you had to turn in to that small area for the scenic point, is putting your window down. There's no default keybinding for it, you do have to set it up, but the window does slightly obscure your vision at night with slight reflections, so I find having it down can help make those dark turns.
I really enjoyed the SE section of the state today, that was so well done. On the whole I'm really happy with the state so far, and I've got the middle section and western handle yet to explore. The attention to detail is fantastic now. And thanks for the window tip, that's a good idea!
Hi Mike enjoying Oklahoma too, like you I get totally immersed in the game. It may help you if enable the steering rotation camera in the game play tab, helps a lot when turning. Also you can enable cabin zoom in the same tab very useful for reading the dashboard details and zooming into signs or signals. Think the bus was an old one and was going to the waste facility to be converted to a staff bus for transporting the employee's to work maybe Keep on trucking buddy great series.
I was just wondering about the steering rotation. I had that on, but I wonder if an update turned it off somehow. (My voice navigation was off too.) I'll have to go in and look again. Thanks! I wasn't aware of the dashboard zoom, thanks! I'll check that out. It would be really helpful for me trying to figure out if my lights are on. And that's a great point on the school busses. I'll run with that!
Hi Mike, greetings from the UK. I have completed the 10 drives in or out of the cities in Oklahoma. The achievement is a rather cool paint job for the truck. Really enjoy watching your vlogs. Keep up the great work 👍🛻
Wait? Really? I've seen those tumbleweeds but I don't believe I've ever seen a deer. I'm going to Washington after this and driving continuously until I spot one. "The Great ATS Deer Hunt!"
If the mountains are filet mignon, then the midwest is POTATOES! Filling, can eat them any time and make them in so many ways--the backbone of the food chain! LOL--getting damage getting an optional picture. Though I DO agree that there was a lack of lighting to the side of the truck to even see how you got in there to begin with. That said, I liked seeing the spillway at night. And that either there ARE shady people in OK, or else the game has no sense of when to put people about, based on time-of-day.
Fully agree with it being tough to see stuff at night to the side. I've already had a few 'incidents' where I've use the force to make the turn and completely misjudged it.
Good to know I'm not alone. I can see nothing to the sides. I real life I'd have better vision for that. I think there might be a mod for better night lighting or something. I might check it out. Basically I feel like the non-lit part of the night is too dark.
Deer actual do run accross the road in Farm Sim, but you run through them not over them...lol. I've had some flying deer also, fun glitch at Christmas. For my RL job I deliver food, I have delivered food to big trucks before. Often if they time out they will call delivery because they can't drive. I love when the delivery instructions are I'm in the back parking lot, it's a red truck between two white ones. I don't drive cross country but I do spend a lot of time behind the wheel. I made enough today to pick up the pack, hopefully tomorrow I'll have time to explore. Missouri had a fundraiser from the waste management to supply school busses for financially disadvantaged school districts. Could it be that? It makes me feel a little better that you don't always park perfect. So just call that a boost to my confidence. You did it on purpose to make Custard Prophet and me feel better...ROFL. Blessings Mike.
That's cool that you deliver food to trucks! Makes total sense, awesome. :) And I really have to get going on Farming Simulator 22. And apparently there are deer in the game, in Washington perhaps. :)
Not sure if you mentioned Ardmore in this video or the last one, but that was a flash back to when I was picking up quite often from EJ-Ardmore Foundry, its right of off i35, used to pick up alot of casting for storm drains. And as a flatbed driver I rarely ever drove at night, my rule of thumb was try to get to a truck stop before it got dark and all the spots were taken, or if I wasn’t able to, now a days you can pay money or use points to reserve yourself a spot. But as a flatbed driver you mostly do pickups and deliveries during business hours, which is 7/8am to 5pm or so, some place wanted before noon, especially job sites you wanted to be there around or a little before 7am to be the first to get unloaded, unlike dry van and reefer drivers go in as early as 2 or 3am to make deliveries.
The next episode in Oklahoma is in the SE corner of the state, and it's really beautiful there. One of my favorite areas in the game, and lots of hidden roads too. :)
I got it, I'm all done with the event. Mostly because since you have to do every city I didn't want to have to keep track of which ones I'd counted for the event vs just driven through on the way. I definitely like that much like Montana a lot of it is off the interstates, passing through towns instead of over them so you get to see the historical districts and city sights and so on. Even though I finished the event I definitely intend to carry on exploring the rest of Oklahoma, seeing more of the towns and traveling down the windy road down the east edge of the state. Anyway my next goal is to explore the parts of Route 66 that got added, and I definitely think it would be neat if they go back and add the entirety of Route 66 to the existing maps when Illinois comes out in a few years time. Then maybe have an achievement for driving on all of it.
Very cool, congrats! So fast! And I definitely like the towns in the game. I think that's a smart move for them emphasizing that. That's great you like it, I'm looking forward to exploring more. :)
Sorry for the slow reply, YT shuffled this off to spam. No clue why. :) Probably at some point I'd grab a base here? I think I might want to get a base or two in some of the bigger Texas cities first.
Another fine possibility, yes. This would be believable, too. My mind tends to drift to suspicious mode, but it could be a generous gesture for sure. :)
The late night view was strange, at one point I was looking at a black screen, must have been difficult for you. Police should have been dealing with the two shady characters rather than chasing you down. Another enjoyable journey.
Another highly suspicious delivery, Zilla - you’re lucky that cop that caught you speeding didn’t stop you to examine your delivery papers 🕵️♂️ p.s. In my experience, you only have a buffer of about 3mph above the speed limit before you can be fined. I play with the speeding warning sound switched on, and it always starts bleeping when I hit 4mph over the limit 🚨
I guess I've always assumed that when you get the warning, you're still 1-3mph safe, but maybe that's not the case. I'll have to drive by police cars at set speeds above the limit and see when they give us tickets. :)

Congrats on the completion, nicely done! I'm looking forward to the paint job, will make more progress today. Thanks!
ATS does have deer cross the road. I have seen it once, when I was driving in Washington.

Yes tje view points photos are totally better in day time
Ain't that the truth. :) I always seem to end up at them at night. I couldn't see a thing this time. :)

It's going to be great when the entire midwest gets filled out. I'm really enjoying Oklahoma.

That is definitely something that isn't modeled in the game: delivery windows. As much as I'd like the realism, I'm glad it's not in the game, tbh. :)
Feels like a fun state! But yeah, not quite the vistas we got before

Once you have discovered a viewpoint, you can view it in the Gallery. You don’t have to return to the viewpoint on the map.
It's a good thing one of us on this channel is smart! Great thinking, thanks! :)
BTW, IC Bus is part of Navistar, which is now part of VW's Traton.
Hmm, quite mysterious, your destination, eh?
Ah, good info, thanks! I'm still trying to figure out why a waste management company is stockpiling school busses, yes. Seems a bit ... suspicious. 🤔
@@ZillaBlitzPC i forgot to ask, will you get a base in OK?

Perhaps Waste Management is donating School buses to the local school district.

you can drive a school bus in ats
That'd be fun to try. :)
The late night view was strange, at one point I was looking at a black screen, must have been difficult for you. Police should have been dealing with the two shady characters rather than chasing you down. Another enjoyable journey.
It's especially tricky because I've got bright recording lights behind the monitors, so that make seeing the screen harder. Use the force, Obiwan! :)
