Yea but the Raza Qurbana in Ekm-Angamaly Archeparchy is for the dead and therefore the songs are somber and focus on the dead, and are also much shorter, as opposed to the Raza Qurbana of many other diocesess, which is usually done during important feasts. I believe the version used in Ekm Archeparchy is also heavily Latinized as well.
@@JobyPanachickal the usage of purple is definitely a latinization, it came from the latin rite. Traditionally, the color used for Requiem Masses and the Good Friday Vespers was always black. If you go to the Chaldeans in Thrissur or the Chaldean Catholics in Iraq they use black in such instances. Traditionally in the Roman rite as well black was used, and black vestments are used in the Byzantine rite as well..I think it's time we reintroduce the practice in the Syro Malabar Church, as black is more appropriate than purple. Also many priests wear latin vestments, which is also messed up becuz we never see the latins wearing Syro Malabar vestments and it's liturgically incorrect. The shortening of " Athyunthamam" is just like the practice of omitting the Gloria in the Latin Mass. Even the omitting of the Credd is a latin practice, in the traditional Syro Malabar practice the Creed was always said, including Yama Prarthana ( towards the end.) The shortening of prayers in general is a latinization. You asked why... It's cause many priests are used to the latinizations inflicted ever since the time of the Portuguese and don't want to go back to the original practice, like Vatican 2 commanded us to do in the encyclical Lumen Orientale. Many priests have intentionally twisted the history of our church and Vatican 2, such as the introduction of Qurbana facing the people. The truth is, this format of the Qurbana was merely an option presented for the latin rite, not for any other rites like the Syro Malabar Church. In truth the participation of the Qurbana does not depend upon who the priest is facing but the knowledge of the people. In fact if u come to Europe you'll see very little participation even tho the qurbana there is celebrated facing the people.

The term "Chaldean" means members of the East Syriac Churches that are in communion with Rome. It was first used by the "Nestorian" (they aren't really Nestorian as confirmed by the Common Christology Declaration. They are fully Diaphysite) side of the Church of East during their schism to describe people who are in communion with Rome.
