What's unusual is that if an officer has ANY questions about what's going on, they usually handcuff the person for BOTH of their safety. Sometimes they even put them in the backseat of the police car until it's all sorted out.
This could have gone SO wrong, in SO many ways.

Well the moral of that story is, if you're going to run around with a DB in the trunk, don't speed, signal turns, and don't have a light out. Unfortunately in Colorado no one is allowed to approach a police stop scene. If you do, you risk being cuffed or shot. It's just not safe for the officer, especially if he/she is state and backup is 150 miles away.

  • @grumblesa10

Criminals are idiots but they aren't stupid. You are correct, if you don't speed the odds of any cop pulling you over are minimal. After a few hours bodies start to bloat and smell. Also, he wouldn't exactly be moving around in the trunk or thumping on the lid...But yes, after the bullshit about the license, address AND weed he probably should've been in cuffs. It's possible the cop was trying to give him a break, thinking he was just driving high. The smell MIGHT have given him probable cause to search but i'm not a lawyer.
In the US you DO NOT have to consent to a search of your vehicle; and lawyers will advise you to NEVER consent. If you are under arrest however, that option is removed due to probable cause.
We also have the "5th" which essentially means you do not have speak to the police without a lawyer present. Dumbass should've have simply said, "I'm not answering questions"

Ik of ppl who was robbing someone bc he needed money for his baby’s diapers and food (don’t say to get a job bc so many people are charged with bs felonies as teens which then makes employers pass them off) who’s guns have went off. Some ppl do pity k*llings if they know it’s fatal but they are in pain, some panic bc they can’t get locked up and continue shoot*ng. So many go unsolved.
