I've been watching too much InRangeTV, I see their cunning plan to not only stress you out by climbing a berm, but also putting said berm in the way so they could score the paper while you were still shooting the 2nd half. Clever use of stage design to speed up the time between shooters.
I wonder why wasn't colored plastic mesh used on the barricades, like we do here. It is much more presentable, easier to work with, more effective and equally safe.
A WW2 themed 3 gun would be very interesting. Say having a USGI with Garand, 1911 and Model 10/ Win 1887 And a german G43,Drilling/other Nazi era shotgun and P08.
ManDrake Vermilyea a WW2 themed 3 gun match would be very cool a battle rifle , a intermediate weapon Thompson or M1 carbine or other intermediate cartridge maybe streach the rules a bit to allow a SKS and a period sidearm A intersting postol stage might seated pistol shooting a plate rack through a slot like from the end of Saving Private Ryan by Tom Hanks as the Captain
A Drilling hasn't much to do with the Nazi era... it's a very common hunting rifle here in Germany, at least it was in the last century because of its a broad usability. You see them less nowadays.
Aethlwulf Wulfson Colt imported some Sauer drillings in 12 and 30-06 in the 1980s Didn't Ian do a Forgotten Weapons on a a German miltary survival drilling like 9.3 X something and shotgun ?
They've said that they are going to make WWII content in collaboration with Indy Neidel's WWII project. That starts September 1st, 2018. I think we'll likely see at least a few WWII themed 2G ACM in the near future. With the H&M STG-44's nearly complete, you'll likely see that thing in the mix head to head with an M1 carbine or something.
Those see through "walls" would really throw me off I think. I watch the run through and I'm like, "Why isn't he shooting that? It's visibil... oh right that's a notional wall. Gah visible means I can see it, not that I can see it if there isn't chicken wire in the way."
I just got the email about you alls attendance in the Varusteleka grand opening in Finland. Please please post lots and lots of footage for us who sadly could not go. Have fun in Finland.
I noticed that Russell's rifle double taps seemed faster than Karl's. Was that a function of the trigger/fire control group, training and practice, or a combination of both? Also, I noticed that Karl fired one shot at each "toaster" clay pigeon, while Russell fired multiple shots. Was that a deliberate decision on both your parts or just the way that it worked out. In any case that looked like a fun stage -- a nice combination of rifle and pistol, and especially the "rabbit".
Paul Suh my rifle is built for fast split times; gas system, low mass carrier, muzzle brake, and the short reset of the SLT-2 trigger. As long as a clay is in the air I’m going to try to hit it. Remember I also have double the ammo capacity Karl has. I’m shooting faster but he’s moving faster; on this stage the net result wasn’t much difference.
Micheal Peterson clearing the gun by dropping the mag and firing a round was allowed at this match as long as it went into the berm. Not all matches allow this. It is better practice to fire the last round into a target (which is what I did) because that is allowed at all Multigun match venues.
I think I noticed Karl engaged some targets with three shots while Russel only did 2. Is there a reason for that? Do they tell you how many times you're supposed to shoot each target? Does it change from target to target?
No. Karl fired a round into the berm to clear the rifle with the magazine removed rather than waste time fumbling around racking the charging handle. Was allowed in this match.

thanks for addressing the wire walls thing. i had wondered why the walls weren't wrapped in tyvek, or something, to better simulate a real 'can't see thru the wall' environment. seems like the clay tosser forces quick target acquisition (sounds like a good skill to me), but i've never shot at something like that, and may be talking out of my ass.
Question: Let's assume you were in charge of arming a small army, one that may or may not face intermittent combat (ie: Ukrainian proxy war, etc), and you had a budget of about $750 USD per gun, what would you arm them with? You can choose arms you cannot normally obtain in the US (ie: M305s rather than M1As) I'm talking squads... - Squad automatic weapon -Marksman's rifle -Squad leader's arm (whichever you choose) -Main infantry rifle -Sidearms for any applicable member.
Tagging the rabbit was a lot of fun. After your stage brief, I was wondering if you guys had noticed that the center platform could be skipped, and so you had. Several in my squad had a penalty on the no shoot in the back left corner, was that the one that got you guys? It seems to have gotten quite a few shooters.
SinistralRifleman IIRC, we noticed during pasting for reset that it had a lot more pasters, and therefore hits, than any of the other no-shoots we’d seen.
IMO the pistol clay pigeons are way more luck than skill based and thus should not be in competitive matches. As Karl said, for shotgun matches it'd be fine but with a pistol you just spam some rounds and hope you get it. No point in having something this random and luck based in a competitive environment.
Käsmeister they’ve said the same about other target arrays in the past. It’s new, we’ll see if it persists. Less than 10% of the shooters at all 4 matches I’ve encountered them at have been successful.

Really nice run on this stage, guys. The "rabbit" indeed seemed like a fun target. Must've been satisfying to pop that one!
Glen Stilson of Independence Training had the fastest Trooper-Armored time on this stage with 99.07 seconds.
Did he get either popper toaster? Just curious.
Jerry Long no he did not
End of video cuts abruptly, the two of them keep arguing about getting the target for another 20 minutes
XD
Dean how to shoot pistol clays coming in the future???
"Get a shotgun"
An actual excuse to buy a serbu super shorty.
I like the "demonetized" patch.
Me too!
Excellent run guys. Too bad on the clay poppers for both of you, but then again its a pistol against a teeny tiny clay.
My favorite part is Russell hitting the first plate by accident anyway while trying to take out the clay.

Bearded Bjorn yep that's the one I am thinking big enough to kill anything that is not extinct

Nice shooting on an interesting stage. :)
Karl, was that an accidental discharge at @4:30? Looks like you move off the block and fire one.
I believe he did this to save time from running the charging handle to clear the rifle.
Atta boy Carl great shooting on that stage. I noticed a significant increase in the pace
A fun stage! Good shooting guys!
Smaller target, bigger accomplishment.
Very nice guys!

this Karl Fagan guy is a fucking force.
3:36 I immediately pictured Ian at his computer getting triggered when he said that. :P

Anyone else catch that?

InRange TV Please make video h&k g36 mud test It would be interesting to know gun will run or not.
Save the Irish plate rack for last? Hoping to get some poor sucker to run dry, so the rack gets spinning nice and fast?
I think I noticed Karl engaged some targets with three shots while Russel only did 2. Is there a reason for that? Do they tell you how many times you're supposed to shoot each target? Does it change from target to target?
Bishop M 1 a zone or 2 hits anywhere. If you're not sure of your hits shoot more.
SinistralRifleman oh shit a reply from sinistral himself. Thanks dude! I'm kinda new to competitive shooting.
Was that a N.D. at @4:30?
No. Karl fired a round into the berm to clear the rifle with the magazine removed rather than waste time fumbling around racking the charging handle. Was allowed in this match.
Where they using a shot timer app? I noticed the ro holding a tablet?

Cool thanks. I've always wanted to go to some matches but life gets in the way.
Maybe to keep track of faults like shooting while steping off the skateboard shooting platform

Matthew Conner IIRC yes same target

what camo are you wearing at the beginning? I see black in the digital patterns.
BrownBessOwner AOR 2

wish there would be a '3 gun stage' some time, would be great seeing all 3 including Ian
That lady had cupcakes!
22plinkster could have hit that clay pigeon.
Not paper memorization. GOOD. 31 paper targets isn't practical its just a waste of ammo.
