outstanding. I am building a bag for my son for xmas, and the fairway speed drivers is a really open topic for us .. the only one he throws now is the valkerie .. i throw firebirds and have a roadrunner for turnovers (we are both primarily forehand, and i use overhand a lot) ... i'm building a bag that my son can use to learn from (he's 14) .. this video has helped me to nail-down the area between his zones and the wraiths i'm packing in for the high-side ... warms my heart that he's starting to see the value (and fun!) of field work
This is internet gold. The format and voice and everything were very well done. You could use more varieties in other words having everyone through backhand. Then have everyone through for hand. The idea of the tracking is really really good and I would like to see more manufacturer of doing stuff like this. I was a little disappointed to see that this channel has very little going on for updates I do think you should get on top of that
Thanks for the thoughtful feedback. We sincerely appreciate it. Look for more videos like this from us in 2020. We do plan on including some forehands and lefties in future videos. If the Glide shop isn't good enough!! They also have fantastic disc information vids?? Why did youtube wait so long to show me this?? Great video, great shop and the owner is a absolutely awesome guy that always is a pleasure to bounce questions off and talk to in general.
Really cool to see an overhead flight tracker of the different flights of the discs from each player. Very helpful. Hope to see some more of these with different speeds.
This is such a great video. I love how you organize it with speed 9 discs, and think every section like that could have one. This is what a lot of casual disc golfers are looking for when they're thinking about buying discs.
I am quite disappointed that you only have this one video of the "Test Flight" series. I would really like to see more JUST like this. Please make more and to start, let's do all the Innovas.
Love this video, and would love to see more exactly like it for other speed classes and manufacturers of discs, not a beginner;but definitely am an amateur still.
The best video I’ve seen of flight paths for a disc. Subscribing in hopes for a trilogy flight video. Only to be able to share it to the trilogy page so all the other reviewers know how it should be done.lol. The trilogy brands themselves rarely do an drone shot of the flight path when a new disc comes out. They could learn a few things from this kind of video. Good job!
Thanks a lot Ryan. Glad you liked this video. Look for more like this from us in 2020. They will include other manufacturers. Lat 64, Westside and DD are on our short list.
I'd LOVE to see more of the Roadrunner, specifically how to take advantage of its ability to roll down hills or fairways to pick up extra distance. Thanks!
I appreciate the video and time everyone put into. I could be wrong but I don’t think they were throwing it 60-70%, those guys were crushing those discs! Also, I feel like that the hyzerflip is a little more advanced technique and would be more ideal for beginners to see flight patterns without it.
Fair points. Some of the guys like Adam have big arms so he was probably legitimately throwing 60%-70%. Some other guys might have been trying to keep up by throwing harder. Unfortunately, we had a headwind to deal with so some hyzer flips were necessary. Otherwise, most of the drives would've been turning over. Next time, we're going to stick with one type of plastic of reduce the number of variables. Thanks a lot for checking it out. We appreciate the feedback. Look for more videos from us in 2020.
I LOOOOOVE this video. My main Innova Speed 9 disc is the roadrunner so I would love to see a similar video with just as many people trying to hyzer flip or turn one of those over for 300-500’ shots.
Useful video! I would love to have a teaching tool video where you show a handful of players chosen by 'speed'. So watching a speed 3 'arm' with a speed 3 disc, on up to a speed 9 arm with speed 9 discs. Absolutely great video. I subscribed to hopefully see much more videos like this. What I would like to request for Axiom/MVP discs as they seem to be gathering popularity and I don't understand the lack of flight numbers in the discs. I did read on Reddit that it's flight path is hidden in the design. Hope to see more of these and great job on the drone follow flights!
Really cool video, I would have enjoyed seeing an overlay of every flight path from 1 player at the end to get a nice understanding of how the discs compare.
Great video! I would love to see future additions to this series for discs of other speeds. In particular I would find it useful for other fairway drivers (Leopard, TeeBird, TeeBird3, etc).
you know what would be interesting to see: testing out some midranges but thrown harder, to see how they perform at longer distances. which get better distance (due to shape). you have a good sampling of throwers here to do that kind of stuff.
I really liked what you did here, guys. Well done. Great use of technology. I pimped it at reddit, to try and get some more views and subs for you. You only had 210 subscribers!
Thanks so much Chris. We really appreciate that. We're now over 1,000 subscribers. More importantly, we'll be putting out more videos like this in 2020. Stay tuned.
I get most of my distance work done with Speed 9's. Too many people are sleeping on the Viking. It's a very good mold & I think it just needs a top pro to give it some attention.
Love it! Small nit-picky suggestion: Don't have the trail of the disc fade on the left after they're thrown. I think it'd be good to be able to see the whole flight path. Not just a small portion as it keeps flying.
Three years since the last video? Yep, it's time to do some more videos. I'd like to see some mid-range disc's thrown like this to get an idea how they fly. But I'd like more explanation in the flight numbers that Innova uses. The Mako3 for instance 5500 for me flies straight as a board whereas my Roc3 which I believe is a 5503 with the bubble lip is very hard to throw. Doesn't seem to have much glide, but then again, the design is quite different than any other disc I've ever thrown too.
It would be great if you could translate "power" into how fast (mph) the ideal throwing speed is for a disc. For new players, I think the best approach is selecting a disc that with their power the flight pattern matches the ideal flight pattern of a disc. Once they establish that baseline, they can select other discs with an understanding of what they can expect the flight pattern to be. Ideally, they would be able to determine how fast they throw (power/mph) a disc at 80%. If they can't calculate that with a speed gun, in takes a lot of experimenting and buying discs. However, if they did know their 80% power and what the ideal power is for a disc, it would be a much simpler process to determine their appropriate starting point disc. As they gained experience and increased their power, they'd have a clear path to follow as they select higher speed discs. Also, what weight discs are being used in the demos as weight effects power as well.
Thanks Mike. We appreciate the feedback. When Vibram made discs, their flight numbers took speed into consideration. It might've been good in theory. Just not sure how practical it was.
Great video! the only thing I wish was in it was if they hyzer or anhyzer to get the s curves, and if each disc is under/overstable. Besides that it was amazing
Great vid. Would much rather see a solid line for the flight path. Maybe when the “bing” of where the disc landed comes up have the entire flight path solidify. Thanx
Thanks Enzo. Glad you liked it. Look for more videos like this from us in 2020. They will definitely include some slower speed discs. Maybe some faster ones too. Stay tuned.
The Viper was very popular at one time. Look for more videos like this from us in 2020 including some Innova fairway drivers including the TeeBird and Eagle.
No promises, but we'll see what we can do. One of the challenges of higher speed drivers is that the drone has to be even higher up to get a wide enough shot for the longer throws.
Any chance these same players could throw those same discs with forehand throws? Nubies, like me, are interested in seeing the difference in distance with the same discs thrown backhand and forehand by pros like them in similar conditions. This would help me gauge how much difference I should be experiencing between my backhand and forehand throws
Thanks Nic. We don't think having them throw backhand and forehand will answer your question because everyone is different. Some people throw further backhand. Others throw further forehand. For some, there's a small disparity between the two types of throws. For others, the disparity is great.
Just grip it like a driver and rip. In my experience you typically have to release putters on a slight hyzer when drivingto avoid turning over too much
A person throwing a disc is very unreliable for results. Until a machine is designed to toss discs the data is sketchy at best. Like the video and all. What 1 person can do does not mean all people can do. Peace Watch the haters strike!!!! Lolol
Thanks. Glad you liked it. Fair point. The video was less scientific and more generally informative. We've got to something until the disc throwing robots are available on Amazon!
Great video, thanks. Just a suggestion, but if you're trying to make instructional/sales videos for the average golfer, maybe feature some average golfers trying the discs.
@@GlideDiscGolf - I am generally interested in learning what and how the pros throw, but I find live "in the bag" sessions with players just a bit better than me to be more useful.
Great video! Newer Player here. ??? My shots tend to go right to left a lot. I want to get some understable discs to compensate for that. How far negative number should a newer player go before it's to far negative?
Please do more of these, the format is great.

The Viper was very popular at one time. Look for more videos like this from us in 2020 including some Innova fairway drivers including the TeeBird and Eagle.
great video, more please!
Thanks Jussi. We're glad you liked it. Look for more videos from us in 2020.
Would love to see this for the Wraith!!
No promises, but we'll see what we can do. One of the challenges of higher speed drivers is that the drone has to be even higher up to get a wide enough shot for the longer throws.
Get two drones ;)
@@youngskunk ...lol...we will probably look for a different place to throw that isn't so close to an airport!
Love this I’ve been looking for a vid like this great work keep it up !!!!
Thanks Justin. Look for more videos like this one from us later this year!
Champion and gstar sidewinder 👍
Any chance these same players could throw those same discs with forehand throws? Nubies, like me, are interested in seeing the difference in distance with the same discs thrown backhand and forehand by pros like them in similar conditions. This would help me gauge how much difference I should be experiencing between my backhand and forehand throws
Thanks Nic. We don't think having them throw backhand and forehand will answer your question because everyone is different. Some people throw further backhand. Others throw further forehand. For some, there's a small disparity between the two types of throws. For others, the disparity is great.
Another good way to remember overstable is "left overs" over to the left!
We like it Kim...thanks!
This was extremely helpful. Thank you for this video.
You're very welcome! Look for more videos like this from us in 2020.
Roadrunner is my go to
Great choice!
Loved the vid ! Keep em coming.

i've seen pro's driving with putters. can you do a video on tips for turning your putter into a driver?
Just grip it like a driver and rip. In my experience you typically have to release putters on a slight hyzer when drivingto avoid turning over too much
Thanks for the suggestion. Look for more videos like this from us in 2020 including some drives with putters.
A person throwing a disc is very unreliable for results. Until a machine is designed to toss discs the data is sketchy at best. Like the video and all. What 1 person can do does not mean all people can do. Peace
Watch the haters strike!!!! Lolol
Thanks. Glad you liked it. Fair point. The video was less scientific and more generally informative. We've got to something until the disc throwing robots are available on Amazon!
This is fantastic but you have to tell us whether they have a head or tail wind and how much... Makes a huge difference.
This video was great!!!! Do more vids!!
Thanks so much. You got it. Look for more videos like this from us in 2020.
Great video, thanks. Just a suggestion, but if you're trying to make instructional/sales videos for the average golfer, maybe feature some average golfers trying the discs.
Thanks David. Glad you liked it. Also, thanks for the suggestion. We do plan on using more "average joes" in the future.
@@GlideDiscGolf - I am generally interested in learning what and how the pros throw, but I find live "in the bag" sessions with players just a bit better than me to be more useful.
@@mapgeek ...we agree. The key is finding average players with good form.
Great video! Newer Player here. ??? My shots tend to go right to left a lot. I want to get some understable discs to compensate for that. How far negative number should a newer player go before it's to far negative?
