"Eugene Merle Shoemaker (April 28, 1928 - July 18, 1997) was an American geologist. He co-discovered Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 with his wife Carolyn S. Shoemaker and David H. Levy. This comet hit Jupiter in July 1994: the impact was televised around the world. Shoemaker also studied terrestrial craters, such as Barringer Meteor Crater in Arizona, and along with Edward Chao provided the first conclusive evidence of its origin as an impact crater. He was also the first director of the United States Geological Survey's Astrogeology Research Program. He was killed in a car accident while visiting an impact crater site in Australia. After his death, some of his ashes were carried to the Moon with the Lunar Prospector mission".
Yesterwynde: This album is like an old concept album by Pink Floyd, you might take the time to listen to it from the first song all thru to the last one. After about 50 times now it grew on me up to the 5 best albums I own - and I am 64 now and have about 8000 records. The last song -Lanternlight- is my personal song of the year 2024 by far. It is very, VERY different but exactly that is the reason. For me Nightwish has evolved to one of those rare bands, that create art without any consideration to what anybody expected or to say it the short way: Nightwish does Nightwish things. And I predict this record will be recognized in decades, just like Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the moon. Some records last forever. Greetings from Germany
The new album is great and different, summing up the trilogy of the recent albums. Listen to it from the beginning to the end . Wonderful!!!!!! Thank you for this reaction ! Greetings from NW army. Sweden
Many banger on Yesterwynde - surely something you should react to IMO❣️ Very different and unique songs. I love the most An ocean of strange islands, Spider silk,The Weave and my song of the year Laternlight❣️
You really need to react to Shoemaker live, Hellfest 2022 . My second favorite song after Ghost Love Score. Symphonic Metal at it`s best. Tuomas is in my opinion the greatest songwriter in the world. And Floor OMG what a singer also the best in the world. I`ve been listening to them for over 15 years and still obsessed with them, no other band brings out so much emotion in me doesn`t matter if its a ballad, rock or pure metal they can do it all !!
Human Nature, for me, has one stand-out track after another, but Yesterwynde was something different which hasn't yet engaged me. I think it might be an album which has to grow on me, but the songs on Human Nature immediately had an impact on me; I think, for that reason, it's their best album for reactions.
I feel the same. I still can't recall any melody from Yesterwynde, and my concept of it is a bit of a blur. Human Nature, for me, was startling, exhilarating, musically thrilling, varied, daring and challenging. For me, Yesterwynde seems bland by comparison.

Shoemaker dreamed of becoming an astronaut and visit the moon, Instead he taught geology to astronauts.
Eugene Shomaker , the only man buried on the MOON
Johanna Kurkela , Tuomas wife was reading the quote ...
"Laudato si ad astra" - from the Latin, "Praise be to the stars".
Floor can, and has, performed this live.
"Laudato si" means "praise be to you" or "may you be praised". So a better translation would be "praise be to you unto the stars"
@@EyesOfGehennaand Laudate Si is the first poem in Italian by Francis of assisi
@@EyesOfGehenna I stand corrected.

Greetings from Germany
The quote from Romeo and Juliet is written on the capsule in which Shoemaker's ashes is buried on the moon.
This song have been a sort of a Anthem for NASA

You are not alone, I feel the same way.
Yesterwinde demands several listening to really get you. But after that it becomes one of the best albums in the world. It really needs to grow on you
My thoughts exactly, Endless Forms Most Beautiful also loved both albums from the start.

Human Nature ( both sides are great). You have to react to see or hear Marko the ex Bassist sing
Do you also headbang on funerals? Do some research first.
Its a reaction channel so why should they research before.
You should see a New Orleans funerals. Very disrespectful to mondanes like you.
But to us, fun way to celebrate a life.
Relax a bit.
Nightwish...always live.
O yes they should listen to this live
I think this is one of the exceptions to that rule. This video really tells the story behind the song.
@@ecbftl Yes thats right. And Nightwish fans know about who its written for. So first this one and than the live version
