@@jayalexander9033 To be perfectly honest, I absolutely do not think Genesis K5LA horns are crap (Except for the raised letters). They just sound different than older 80’s ones like this. I think the narrow font K5LA’s on the Genesis locomotives sound just about as good as this one sounds.
Those down swept echoes are just beautiful, I've got a great spot in a pine plantation for echo and reverberation but those Cali hills are something else. Great work!
That was beautiful. Really takes me back to my childhood. Amtrak’s drove by my grandma’s house all the time. It would be 11:00 o’clock at night and I would still get out of bed, open up the door, and listen to that amazing sounding K5LA in the distance.
I can't stop listening to this! It really brings back childhood memories. Everytime when I would see Amtrak, and CSX trains, they would always blow these absolutely beautiful K5LAs. Such a shame they are replacing these horns with those sucky Raised-letter ones these days!
I honestly have no words. That’s a beautiful K5LA and those echos are ABSOLUTELY INSANE! Although it’s not the best K5LA I’ve ever, and I still think the Early 90s B32-8WH K5LA sounded better that was on this channel.
This takes me back to the mid-late '90s, spending a whole Saturday into the late evening at my grandma's house a block from a super busy NS line. I can picture that little space between the houses across the street I'd peek through and watch either a load of autoracks or a string of Triple Crown roadrailers rolling through. Of course, that was in Indiana so the only echoes were off all the houses in the neighborhood and they didn't roll anything like this. It's almost been 20 years since the last time any of us got to visit her... Anyway, I've heard just about every recording out there of an echoing K5LA and this might top them all
the 5 bell orifice actually has a ¼-20 hex plug installed so I can adjust how the 5 bell sits in the chord. This allows me to change the octave match and fine tune the horn to different pressures.
@@hornhub3410 How did you modify the #5 bell to accept a plug? What effect does plugging it have on the pitch, does it go higher? Also is this a small bore #5?
hey, i have a question. I am trying to get a setup for my car. I have a horn, but, i'm kinda tired of honking it right by my house. Are there any tanks or compressors you recommend? Also, im looking for more than just a crossing sequence. maybe a good 30 to 40 seconds of horn. car is nissan xterra
A beautiful old-school Airchime K5LA. Nostalgic sound, I mean music.
They should never change them those Genesis ones are crap

MassDotFan1062 Productions the F40s are the best engines, period.
Priority#6 agreed. Metra is has the largest fleet of F40s.
MassDotFan1062 Productions metra uses the Airchime P5A instead of the K5LA
