I reckon Priest did a good job here. Halfords return was brilliant but Tim doesn't deserve the hate he gets, he's a damn good singer & did exactly what Priest paid him to do. At least they didn't just copy/paste the Halford style & run on autopilot.
T S W @ late reply, but i've been listening to this for years, it was a nice break. Halford put out some good albums as well during his time off.Ripper was awesome for this album. But you can tell it was written by guitarists
Very underrated cd, ripper is a great vocalist and his style fit what priest was looking for and Rob did his own thing which also was great music, why compare just enjoy
Today i'm 1st time listening to this song ever..! I'm just big fan of avenged sevenfold... And i'm dying for SYN.. I just what a song.... I mean what!! What am i listing .... And that rifff 🙂🙂🙂 forgive me (I'm from Bangladesh)
Sure, it's experimental. Sure, it's not classic Judas Priest. Does it make it a bad song just on those alone? It shouldn't, and never should IMO. Judge it by other factors, instead of "it's not Rob Halford on vocals so it's shit", or "it doesn't sound like British Steel/Screaming For Vengeance/Hell Bent For Leather Judas Priest so it's shit". It's funky, sure, but it's not completely intolerable, at least to me. There are better songs, sure, like "Feed On Me", "Hell is Home", and "Metal Messiah", but this song's at least tolerable.
I think it's a great song! With the hypnotic relentless pumping, I kind of start feeling like I'm Mad Max out on the road in the badlands when I'm listening to it. :D
Cataclyzmika I find that statement to be quite ridiculous. I did in fact hear Halford first; Painkiller to be exact. Actually, now that I think about it I had heard every Halford album before the Ripper ones. And I think that Ripper was a perfect replacement. Rob Halford himself said that he is a perfect "Halford clone." People are quick to point out how terrible that this is, but nobody says anything about the shit that Rob put out with 2wo or Fight. And saying that this "blows ass" in comparison? I would much rather listen to this than songs like Breaking the Law or Living After Midnight, which I think are very overrated. And nobody should be blaming Ripper anyway. He didn't write any of this. If anyone, you should be blaming Glenn, because he literally wrote every song on this album, except 2 or 3 that he had help from K.K. and Scott.
This not classic priest sound, sound like alternative metal, i dislike this new sound, i prefer old sound with Halford. Priest are a heavy metal classic band not alternative metal
@@Antarezium I totally agree with you. In addition, Priest always innovated and did different things on each album over the years since Rocka Rolla. Ok, in some more than others, but still always innovated. Only on the last two albums without KK that unfortunately they became very average and recycled which was very disappointing for me. But the average metal comunnity seems liked it a lot, but for me it's shameful and never was the standard of Priest ideology.
Judas priest never makes bad music
*AMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNN*

Well put.
Classic Priest riff, good song. Thanks for uploading.
This song is Bad ASS!!!! Love it!
Why do people come on here and blast something they don't like? If you don't like it, don't listen to it.
Ripper Owens kickin Ass with Judas Priest Devil Digger
Pompano Beach Florida Shout Out. Nice

Damn good song, full of power.
KK's Priest: Beginning
This one and Nostradamus are the two best Priest albums ever. True masterpieces!
Interesting choices. I like them both, but more Nostradamus.
FUCK YEAH!
Ken Downing and Tim Owens should form a new band... ;)
And they finally did. Here comes KK's Priest.

@@robertomessa9126 yeah sure look at thier new album
Your wish has come true…. Happy with the result?
Ripper Owens was the best thing that ever happened to Judas Priest. There I said it.
Respectfully disagree. Tim Owens isn't a bad singer by any stretch but the direction JP took during his tenure was not a favorite of mine.

Best Priest album!
There you go. I said it! 🇦🇺

Exactly: anybody who doesn't like this is wrong - simply wrong...

This wouldn't be out of place in a Marilyn Manson album. That being said, it's a great tune.
It is very Manson-like, I agree. Could be a track on The Golden Age of Grotesque.
it would be out of place because it blows anything manson did out of the water. don't disrespect priest like that
This is...Marilyn Priest
More like Rob ZomPriest.

Wtf is up with Scott Travis here? What happened to that kick ass drumming in Painkiller? All very weird yet still great.

IF I WERE GLENN , I WOULD NOT BRING ROB BACK... I LIKE THIS SOUND SO MUCH... TIM IS A GREAT SINGER...
Ripper Rowens is amazing vocalist.. This album is below power.. It is a album which didn't go anywhere..
I really like this song (not the singer), and I can't help wondering how awesome this would be with Halford.
Decent/good album, not a very good Judas Priest album, though :/

I disagree. People have the right to experiment. Playing the same thing is complete shit
