Now I'm prompted to respond to your ideas. Ending the day this way for years is a great way to wrap up and revisit. I try to keep it positive...or at least find the positive even if things went awry. Thanks for the reinforcement. Also strongly agree it must be written and not just thought.
Sometimes my evening check-in slips: if I'm too tired or down, say. But they are as important as morning pages for reflection and mental clarity. I discovered Julia and morning pages years and years ago, did them sporadically, then…stopped. Ikve journaled frequently and have started writing a line a day, which sometimes turns into a paragraph or two. Now, however, I see how those efforts were not that useful without reflection. I will restart morning pages, and follow up with evening reflection. It makes sense! Thank you for making this video. And I love your drawings. A picture is always worth a thousand words.
Thank you for watching and leaving such a lovely comment. Go easy on yourself if you need to, Don't feel you have to jump right in immediately. Just write a few lines here and there to get back up to speed -- if you want to get back up to speed, that is. I'm preparing a video about this now; look out for it. Good luck! 🙏
😊 What a lovely thing to say, thank you! Do subscribe if you haven't already: more to come, with another one due in the next couple of days. Thanks for watching 🙏
@@sketchley Thank you! Already subscribed but I've turned on the notifications for your next video. We are loving the morning pages and nice to have a format for the review page. Thank again for your great videos.
thank you so very much ! I have been doing morning pages, bullet journaling (future collage) daily reflections etc. I am thinking of creating an online course and perhaps an after school or home school zoom classes.... it would be so good for children brains:) its great to listen to your content and become refreshed !
@@sketchley I did, the part about why affirming the good is he'll to b counteract our natural survival instinct of focusing on pain points was well put. I found the whole video really well edited and entertaining too!
great video! Thank you , I realised I already do most of this in a slightly different way - gratitude book, nature noticing notes and day's highlights, just need to add the question...
Really like this companion to morning pages. Did you create this addition to your routine based on the research you mentioned? Positive psychology having people use journals? Could you, in writing, lay out your outline for the evening reflection?
Hi, Drew. Thanks for watching 🙏. I'd read about the importance of expressing gratitude at the end of the day, I think Dr James Pennebaker, and watched Prof. Richard Wiseman talk about luck journaling, and integrated them both into my daily routine. I write no more than half a side of A5 at the end of the day, but it is interesting to reflect, and good for our mental health to look for the positives no matter regardless of how the day has been. I have changed my morning pages routine over the last few weeks, so look out for a video on that soon! And there's a new one due out later this week, too, so do subscribe if you haven't already. Thanks again!
