    Sam, thanks so much for the visit - you were a lot of fun to talk to!
    Keep at it with the 360 and let's do all the other ECU, and immobilizer upgrades we can offer. You'll probably be the first person to have the most modern 360 out there once it's done.
    BTW if anyone would like answers to technical questions or just curious about ECUs, we'd love to answer their questions.

      They especially fill an important role for cars like this that emphasize form > function and have no OEM support. When the manufacturer uses 100% proprietary components, and when the approved dealerships try to price you out of any reasonable repairs, guys like Specialized ECU provide a 3rd option other than choosing between an expensive paperweight and near-bankruptcy having the car fixed.

      @neekovturbo 5 років тому +10

      You may be on to Something for sure. I have for sure seen a 360 kick on that same light when F1 fluid was low. There is a hose (or a few) by the F1 fluid reservoir that gets old and brittle and can leak the fluid causing this issue of not going in to gear. Its' a safety measure to save the tranny when it runs low on fluid. There may be some companies that offer the fluid by now a bit cheaper but, back in the early 2000s it was a lot of money for a quart of this stuff from the dealer. As soon as we got the fluid and fixed the leak the 360 was back to normal. Good luck Sam

      A car with properly designed electronics, made to be robust enough for use in an automobile offered for sale to the public, shouldn't have any damage from poor battery connections. Things like the car not starting and odd behavior would be possible but there shouldn't be any damage. But in this case it is a Ferrari and properly designed for robustness and Ferrari often don't go together.

    On the F1 transmission, theres 2 small shafts that move gears up and down. They have bronze bushings. Of course they wear off and the shaft start to have way more play up and down. That is enough for the electronics of the transmission to "see" it as an error. And yes, gets stuck in neutral as a fail safe. Can you get those bushings? Absolutely. In Italy only and very expensive. Is there way around? Yes there is

Thus removing the ground first has been the rule since the stone age of automobiles before they had computers.
