I have to include this here since this video has been gaining a lot of attention now (thank you!) but I know that these suggestions of mine are not perfect! I know that there's reasons Animal Jam might not be able to fix these things. I'm young and don't know much, honestly, so this video was me just speculating and pointing things out- and most of all, ranting about things that make me angry with the game at the moment. I felt the need to express this because some of the comments lately have been a little too harsh, and I had to delete quite a few because I think some people missed the point of the video! This is purely my own stance on what sucks about the game, and was made purely to list from grievances I had. If you disagree, that is okay! I'm open to seeing what you might think, but please be kind about it. Especially to other people, relating to their experiences in the comments. Remember that this video was made to be opinion and observation, not absolute fact. Do not harass others for their stances, experiences, or opinions. There is no need to be mean or aggressive towards others. Your comment will be deleted without hesitation if I see this happen. This is a safe space. Thank you so much for understanding! 🩵

You'd think that it jambassadors could do it then we could do it too, but no??☹️☹️☹️I'm so sorry that happened. Bffr animal jam.
@@jovizEXEI mean I dont know how it is now because I havent been as invested in AJ anymore but I remember when watching some yt like WisteriaMoon and Aparri (is that how you spell it?) do that then they said they actually got warned by AJ themselves to not do it again cause its against the rules
back around 2017ish animal jam banned me because the credit card company told them to stop charging my mom for a membership i didn't have. genuinely not exaggerating-- they banned ME because THEY were caught stealing money.
OH THAT'S VILE! I've seen banned people complaining about how AJ kept charging them for a membership for months after their ban and they were unable to cancel the membership since AJ kept ignoring them. This company is disgusting.
I’M NOT EVEN KIDDING, SOMETHING SIMILAR HAPPENED TO ME TOO!!! It has been a core memory of mine where my Mom talked and was at the computer stressing over being charged TWICE for the membership in the same month so she tried to cancel the membership due to it and they completely banned my five year old account and my Mom was so mad after that she told me to never play that game again. I never forgave Animal Jam since 🥲
the fact that shops are unavailable to nonmembers is crazy to me. like 90% of players prefer to sell/buy things from each other rather than trading nowadays...

I had played animal jam for about 5 years and amassed a ridiculous amount of wealth in items. I changed my password regularly and took safety measures, but when the data breach happened my account was CLEANED. Everything gone. Most of my friends quit after the data breach as most of them had been cleaned as well. The game used to be fun, but there's literally no point in playing after that happened.
There is though because you don’t have to play for wealth… just play for fun. I remember being nonmember for months at a time and yes it sucked but I still logged on everyday just to do adventures and chat w friends. Not trade and become rare
@@Rainn8426 I played for the trading aspect and for playing with my friends, I can't trade anymore and my friends quit. There is not reason for me to play any more.
@Twilightwolf34820 like ANY game with cosmetics, pets and other collectables, there will be players who play mostly for the trading and collection aspect of the game. who cares as long as they don’t have an unhealthy relationship with it. different people r going to find different aspects of the game more enjoyable than others, it’s just a matter of personal preference. again, this person’s also mentioned their friends quit too. lots of people would be demotivated to play again because of that alone
I was hit in the data breach and when I emailed AJHQ's support team about getting my stuff back or doing literally anything they just said "We can't help you. Fun fact: most hacks happen because of account sharing! You need to take precautions to protect your account! Fuck you! Ugly." The audacity of telling players it's their fault knowing they had their emails, passwords, birthdays, billing address, and literally anything else attached to that account LEAKED because their security is straight up dookie. My email was signed up for spam mail right after the hack and AJHQ couldn't even say sorry. I can't open my email without being flooded with GARBAGE. I been playing this game since 2011 and been paying for it since 2012 and I don't even get a genuine human message when I email them about a decades worth of work being stolen and my EMAIL GETTING SIGNED UP FOR SPAM. Not even my billing address was safe bro. Back in May, one of my spares got banned despite not being active on it for years. The ban email literally just said "Op, you're banned!" like I'm literally so confused I fear logging onto my new account and losing everything again and I'm more fearful of talking to their support team bc why is their automated messages so backhanded all the time
@@rodimussy THIS. IS. SO. REAL. And so unfuriating, oh my god. I literally feel the anger from this message, and reading how incompetent support is, is just downright ridiculous. It was their fault, so why are they putting it on us to deal with? Telling us we need to take precautions when we followed their instructions on how to be safe in the first place and then throwing us a middle finger when we try to make them understand is so aggitating!! The audacity is unreal.
Wait was there another data breach?? Or are you talking about the one that happened years ago, now im scared cause I havent heard of it and didnt change my password if its a new one
I stopped playing Animal jam on both Classic and Play Wild because in Classic no one roleplays anymore or does anything remotely exciting its just "Buy this! Or Trade me this!" Not to mention that they dropped the story the were working on with the adventures. I stopped playing Play Wild, because I feel unsafe talking to literally anyone on the game because so many predators have gotten into the game. There isn't really anything pulling me back until they find ways to fix these issues.

the only way I can think of them actually listening to us is if no one plays animal jam for a month, we pull another feral discord incident, we pull another quakity incident or some hacker group does yk,, weird hacker shit . @@jovizEXE They removed spiked collars from adventures because people kept using bots/hacks to farm them. This is what happened with nonmember clothing betas and why their value dropped immensely. Holy. Crap. I thought this was only an issue with me. I got permanently banned for no reason a few months ago on an account I had spent hundreds of dollars on for sapphires, completely out of the blue. I’ve had this account since the dawn of play wild and I was very frustrated when I tried to log in to see the message telling me that my account was PERMANENTLY banned without warning. It’s frustrating yet a little comforting to know that this wasn’t just an issue with me.
I remember losing an old account I had since 2013/2014 around 2019 and I had to make a new account. There was no reason, nothing. I couldn’t log back in and was upset. Random suspensions are wild
This same thing happened to my friend, she randomly got banned from her old account because AJHQ thought she was buying membership from a third party site even though she hadn’t bought membership on that account in forever and even when she did she always bought it from the official site
OMG ME TOO. Around 2019 also, had the account the same amount of years you did, too... makes me wonder if something happened? I contacted them back then and they weren't any help unfortunately..
I'm a play wild player and i always ended up getting suspended for saying the most ridiculous stuff, saying "ok but dont tell them" because i was about to surprise them with the notice that i have gotten an alpha chest and i get suspended. Really Aj? And when i came back i got suspended the same day for saying something basically that isn't even wrong. Tbh i think on just giving everything away and quitting now.
I quit Animal Jam the moment I found free to play games that offered WAY more fun and content completely FREE! But I still miss playing as a cute animal, dressing up and decorating my den.
@@Caninu there's something called Pony Town and a custom server of the game called Ashes Town. Both are GREAT to play you can decorate your own party island and make a TONE of characters. (Ashes town has WAY more character slots than pony town though.) You can go absolutely HAM with the character creators. And there's always people hanging out and looking for roleplays. Completely F2P. There are shops in ashes town but they're not necessary if you just want to hang out and have fun. And caps are relatively easy to get. In Pony Town you can collect gifts/ eggs and more depending on the season! I think sweets for Halloween. And those will give you plushies that you can wear on your head! You don't have to buy any of the items in order to decorate your island!/house! It's very fun and I can't recommend it enough!
after more then a decade im actually quitting AJ due to my acc being hacked from a data breach i had no idea about. i tried to contact them to get my items back because it was a security problem on THEIR part that i lost a ton of my items, but they completely shut me down and were actually pretty passive aggressive! this is a stark contrast to their old customer service where they'd give you back the items you lost. i saw other commenters speaking on this a bit so i wanted to share my experience. what a sad thing my childhood game turned into
Yes!!!! Support isn't even support anymore! It's like talking to a rude bot, and that is so unprofessional of them, they should feel ashamed to treat their playerbase that way! @@wizardfucker8999 Yeah, it was an entire situation with their latest project, Feral. Feral was shut down because it was a 'beta' for Cinder, their NFT game. Feral had its issues sure but it still had potential to be a good 13+ Animal Jam, and then Wildworks turned their slimy backs on everybody. Thankfully, fans did get Feral back up and running and I think they're also responsible for bringing back School of Dragons after it shut down too.
Dude, I quit animal jam because of these (as in wished some kid good luck and got suspended for it), multiple people-all very obviously adults-trying to date me (no punishment because why should groomers be punished), and the chat block got to the point where we couldn’t even say our genders. also non members can barely use shops in play wild, the get charged extra. Is it possible you misspelled luck without realizing? I wouldn't be surprised if AJ was stupid enough to suspend you for saying good luck, but it might be more likely that you just accidentally cussed
Animal jam putting those “Dont give your passwords out!” messages on the newsletters were a hard slap in the face for me since my account was hacked during the data breach 😭 Ive sent them proof that I own the account yet no response yet
Tbh I think that they need to add a trade history! 4-5 years ago I got the membership and got 3000 gems along with it, about 1/2 through it I stopped playing. I decided to long on to find all my gems gone and all my pets gone. My password most likely got leaked and I’m almost certain that I won’t be able to get my stuff back if I contact support. They should have a system to check their trade history like adopt me on Roblox to where they will have you show proof of the trade and email of your support email from Roblox and then they will give you back all of your stuff back that you lost when you got hacked.
@@jovizEXE it literally happened to me first time I ever played the game. I was too young to understand the seriousness of it or what was even happening. They were a wolf doing the howling action, after they told me to do the "sleep" action. I was just too young and confused to realise it's seriousness. They disappeared out of nowhere though, so they either got kicked or they left before they could be reported. And that's another problem, it wasn't obvious for new players (especially at such a young age) to know how to report.
ever since i had been hacked i had basically quit the game, there’s just no fun anymore knowing all my hard work was for nothing and everything i had earned ( mainly my pets, items only for my avatars ) were gone , i had the account for YEARS. when i had contacted animal jam for help, i never even got a response. it feels like they just don’t care and now are just trying to get money from their game and that’s it :/ what sucks is the person who hacked me i FOUND and reported and they still did nothing. they just don’t care.
I quit Animal Jam years ago because of the rampant scamming, toxicity, glitching and AJHQ refusing to do anything to fix the game, ban scammers/players engaging in toxic or creepy behavior, or even helping a younger me get my items back that were stolen. The game just wasn't fun for me anymore which sucks because I used to really love it. Awesome to see nothing has changed and has in fact gotten even worse. It's like they WANT AJ classic to shut down. Terrible company.
My 6+ year old account, which I never paid premium for, was deleted due not “logging in often”, help was refused because the damage was done. They’ve been long lost at this rate.
5:50 in regards to IP bans, I can think of two reasons (one optimistic and one pessimistic) as to why they aren't IP banning returning banned users. OPTIMISTIC: Due to the massive backlash from the banwaves (particularly with the amount of innocently banned people) they want to avoid accidentally false-Ip banning someone who's so desperate to return and play AJ that they make a new account. PESSIMISTIC: Scammers, Minnowers, etc. have a chance of re-buying membership so they can get back to scamming/minnowing, and so every time they're banned and COME BACK, they are likely to give AJ more money.
Animal jam has always had problems to begin with, and its mainly because the majority of the people playing are kids (right now in 2024, I actually think its more teens and young adults who are coming back for the nostalgia rather than actual kids), but it has always been so easy to take advantage of these kids and just do whatever, such as "trust", convincing them to share passwords, and lots of other things. When AJ play wild first started out, im going to be honest, I didn't like it because I thought AJ was putting more effort into that, and it made me sad. guess what, they literally changed the name, now its the actual Animal Jam and this is called "classic". I think that was when AJ truly fell apart, updates stopped, there were no new events, no love or effort put into the game, and its just really sad to see one of my favorite childhood games that I started 9 years ago turn into this. I made 2 new accounts about a year or two ago for THE NOSTALGIA, and one of them got hacked. I sent an email and they replied with an email on "how to keep my account safe". Yea cuz thats totally helpful when I already did ALL OF THAT and my account STILL GOT HACKED. My other account I bought a membership and ended up with 700 diamonds, but then the membership ended, and I literally have nowhere to spend it all. I hate to admit it but its so boring to play AJ now.😢Even when I want to do an adventure with others for fun, most people just go in and leave, so they can hack out the prizes. That's just disappointing. I really want the game to do better, but I don't think thats going to happen anymore :(

just letting you know, membership is crossed between the two games. You get diamonds/sapphires for both games. if you've had membership before I highly recommend downloading the new animal jam just to get membership since u can buy it with 600 sapphires in the diamond shop
@@KitZilla-fp5ue Oh yea I tried that! I got another month, but then I got busy with life and didn't play AJ that much, so the second membership ended and I'm still stuck with 700 diamonds. I'm kind of curious why they raised it 🤔
About the IP ban… IP bans are reserved for like, the worst of the worst, because IP banning someone can ban an area around them, like a neighbourhood. Anyways, I totally agree with this video. I’m on Play Wild, but inventory space and scamming is equally a problem for me. I’m so tired of having to choose which den items to give away by the hundreds so I can continue to buy ones I want a little bit more… I also knew a buddy who was trying to trade for a double tail (That’s basically most of people’s first huge rare) for 8 YEARS and they got it scammed the minute they got it 😭… I felt so bad.
@@Be727z I see! I can definitely see why they're reserving them now ... Thank you for the insight! :O There has to be SOME sort of way to prevent them from making new accounts though! Animal jam has created two games- you'd think they'd learn from one of them😭 I also feel SO bad for your friend. :(
Isn’t there a way to like, ban a specific device from making accounts? I’m not like, a techy person but surely there’s something like that which can be done?
@@asnytex That does exist actually! But, it can be bypassed with a VPN, sometimes by deinstalling your browser or app that you use to run the thing you got banned on, or by different means like switching your MAC address (it’s similar to IP but used to identify devices). Though, usually these people who get themselves banned have multiple devices, and hackers probably know a thing or two about how to bypass bans. I’m not gonna try to say that IP bans are 100% foolproof, you can bypass them with a VPN or tor browser. I felt like it was worth replying since you might find it interesting. Though, I do agree, device bans would at least keep the child scammers away, and it would be rather effective
@@asnytexI was about to say that! Of course, they can get new devices, but not without paying more money than they'd probably be willing to to keep making new accounts
On a less important scale, memberships in Classic sucks. If they want to lock most of the game behind a paywall, just have people buy the game upfront. Shopping and customizing your animals is the main selling point for AJ. Trying to play it off as anyone can enjoy the game, paid or not, when in reality most items and animals are behind the paywall. I think they remedied this in PW, sapphires are harder to get, BUT if you've saved enough anyone can buy anything (minus the member-exclusive shops). The game feels much more open to all audiences with the membership features being quality of life add-ons rather than locking integral parts of the game. Classic made a step in the right direction by allowing nonmembers to play any adventure (except TFD since there's still no nonmember flying animal) but the company made no further actions past that from what I remember.
i understand they delete accounts after inactivity but literally all my previous accounts are still active, i have access and have checked all their inventories for items to give my current account but my PREVIOUS account, with all my items i collected over my childhood including spikes and headdresses and those angel wing things and skullies and some betas has been deleted. like what😭 and they can’t do anything about it. the animal jam economy is so expensive now and it’s so hard to get those items back. asides from that just basic ahh glitches that have been there since my childhood are still present and despite AJC being converted to a desktop version, it’s still as laggy as when it was run by flash. we as fans/consumers need to riot or sumn cus theyre so lazy brah
@@grimm788 I understand too why they delete inactive accounts! I wish that they'd atleast send a warning to your email before deleting an account. It's highly troubling that they just assume an account is not going to be used, so they delete it without contacting the player!! I decided to play ajc a few days ago for the first time in forever and good lord this game aged poorly. After hearing about so many people being banned for no reason im constantly on edge playing the game or well TRYING to play the game, the lag is atrocious no matter how many things I do to try and reduce it like deleting files and games or taking all my items off. The lag is especially terrible when doing adventures which sucks because Ive always loved doing them its one of my favourite parts of aj, all I can really do is sit in my (very empty) den because the game cant handle anything else :/ ajc has a very special place in my heart and I wish ajhq would realise how much this game means to people and fix it
Yup. All of this is right. My JAGs have been glitched since 2020. The send button is gray, and it can't be pressed. I can't use JAGs, period. If I do succeed in trying to send something, it just freezes and doesn't send-- and my JAGs constantly crash other players. It's super annoying. Of course, telling AJHQ about it did nothing other than an automated response. I tried multiple times after the first response, but no luck. And the spare thing? Yup. I have five spares right now, and all of them have more than half-full inventory. And the shop thing? Yup. It takes forever. They need to raise it, too-- people constantly get scammed with buying solids. And the hacking thing is also very true. It's sad to see AJC deteriorating, but it's a fact that it is. I appreciate that you're acknowledging these issues, although it's not super likely that many of them will be fixed. The only things I play for are fashion shows and friends at this point-- there's just nothing intriguing about the game's nostalgia. The only entertaining features are player-made things at this point. I wish AJC would be revamped, but it just won't. I think we all know this. I've had terrible and great experiences, but recently just boredom. The game feels so much more rigid now, it honestly doesn't surprise me that so many people are hacking and scamming. Yes, there are a lot of bad things, but I also feel like because of all of these issues, some players have soured. There are so many random false accusations of scamming, hacking, even genuinely illegal things. It hurts to see something with potential-- because AJC, bare in mind, has no advertising anywhere, and has a decent amount of players considering that- go to waste. The end of Flash was definitely the start of all of these glitches and automated responses in return. Odds are the game will eventually shut down-- AJHQ has made it clear they don't want to spend effort on even things that Flash couldn't have affected too much, like the ban waves. And it's understandable that they don't automatically give items back, but how hard would it be to at least make sure accounts are recovered, or to give the player advice other than AI for "it's your fault, idiot."
@EnbyFrog42 - Everything you said is completely true, I agree with ALL of it. The amount of alternative accounts, wasted time AND currency if they get deleted, hacking and scamming rampant because the developers won't fix this issues. It's ridiculous at this point. I agree with the fact that eventually this game will crash and burn, either that or AJHQ will announce that they will not update the game anymore at some point, to focus more on other projects. Which sucks to think about. If neither of those, their playerbase will die down and no one will be around to play it anymore. Because we are SO fed up with everything. Yes. Support sucks so BAD. It's so dumb how you email them for any form of assistance just to get a glorrified middle finger in your face and NOTHING solved.
Animal Jam was the biggest part of my life as a kid and i made friends that were there when i was really going through it. Seeing it come to this, people including me being afraid just to log in in fear of losing memories, honestly horrific. I cant even begin to describe my grief about this game.
Thank god someone is acknowledging this stuff too!!! It’s so bad right now. I have recently quit along with loads of my friends due to the ban wave, toxicity, awful community, and terrible support. I’d also like to add that me along with 4 other people have been completely banned for absolutely nothing. I’m no longer interested in anything AJ related because of this :(
I haven't played animal jam since I started highschool (im 23 now) but this is such an informed and concise way of airing out all of animal jam's dirty laundry. Good video! I don't exactly have any high hopes for a game that relies on children stealing their mom's credit card to pay for memberships, but perhaps one day it'll get relinquished to a different company that can handle it better. Right now WildWorks is not the correct company to handle a game like this I feel like.
I like the idea of notifying if someone’s been suspended or banned for scamming but I once got trade suspended for “scamming” because I talked with my buddy in-game on how I got scammed that day and who to report and then nothing happened to my scammer-Happy I wasn’t banned though but their support team is trash when it comes to reviewing reports
@@BroSoMad Suspending you and NOT your scammer is literally crazy😭😭You'd think they read the chat logs you sent rather than just letting the scammer go unpunished. I think the idea is good too! But with the point you brought up about you accidentally getting suspended, I think it should only notify someone if a jammer has had a few offenses. If the jammer doesn't appeal this, or tries to appeal it and gets disproved by a moderator looking at their case, then it'll stick to their profile with each account they create going forward. ALSO, AGREED! AJ Support sucks at reviewing reports. It feels like they aren't on your side 90% of the time. 😭
@@jovizEXE yeah and they must of been tracking my chat logs because it was just me and my buddy in my den talking about the situation doubt my buddy reported me I didn’t want to bring up the mistake in a support ticket because I felt like that would make them annoyed and just ban me instead I felt lucky even getting off with a trade suspension for a day Still annoyed to see it on my record years later though and I get scared that one day they’ll just go along with the ban
They’ve been banning my account over and over and over for “scamming”, as someone who’s been scammed so many times as a kid playing it I would never do that. It’s SO frustrating!! I’m genuinely so annoyed by it at this point.
I think the biggest issue is how easy it is to just create a new account and start trading. There should be a waiting period to add buddies, trade, or jam-a-gram when you create a new account. The game should encourage earning new items through earning gems, playing adventures, and the little scrapbook you find animals/vegetation with. Though it won't stop it entirely, I feel as though it would help if they won't IP ban.
minnowers are annoying but its pretty easy to avoid if u have access to your parent dashboard, since they cannot crash your game if you turn trading off. its insanely irritating though, and the fact WE are blamed for it is insane. what has always worried me is the mishandling of predators on animal jam. I had interactions with multiple grown adults who acted inappropriately towards me and my friends when i was as young as 11 year olds, and ajhq never did anything about it.
ABSOLUTELY TRUE.!! glad to have sat through this; you have a nice voice,- easy flowing and nice to sit through.!! i actually enjoyed watching this video, and i'm not usually big on commentary.!! i, like a lot of other people, used to love animal jam and it was a massive part of my childhood; it's so glad to see that it's still got a community that's still living on!!
@slavrolo Thank you so much for listening!! I was actually very worried this video would be boring, since I'm not a big fan of commentaries either. So I'm glad you enjoyed it! Means alot to me. 🩵🩵 And yes!! The community is still running strong after years, and I'm glad to see it aswell!
Animal jam used to be my whole childhood and now i cant even play it without remembering the times my account was hit with the data breach and when i contacted them for help it just felt like they responded with "its not our problem", i spent 7-8 years on that account, i even bought membership on both games and now i cant enjoy it anymore since i would have to start over again
Honestly true i got suspended for no reason and got a npc message when i emailed Im so paranoid that im avoiding trading on bradys because take ages to get there cuz full and boom ur minnowed and u need to spam join again *wow!*
This game used to be my favorite childhood game, which I loved so much. But I hate the fact that AJHQ has poor security and problems with their system. I NEVER shared my Animal Jam Classic (2D, PC version) and Animal Jam Play Wild (3D, Mobile version) passwords but at the end, I still mysteriously lost all of my beta/rare stuff from both accounts. I don't know if it was data breach or if I truly was hacked by someone. Yes, I still could log into my accounts but what's the point to play it when you loose your most precious stuff, for which you worked hard. There was no point to access AJHQ because they don't answer immediately and probably would reply with "it's your fault, you didn't have to share your password with anyone". So, I just deleted entirely my two accounts for safety. Very disappointed that it happens to many players, I am not the only one, who suffered from this. Sometimes I miss old times when I played these games but it was worth it to leave everything behind. Hopefully someday AJHQ team will change and make their games better.
Don't know much about Wildworks stuff in general, but honestly from the content in this video I'm... Really not surprised. I've met an illustrator who was a covid layoff from Wildworks who did a lot of concept art for both Animal Jam and Feral. And from what I remember (because I went to a talk he did in 2021), the way he talked about his work he was fed up with the company himself. He even said "I can't believe I'm giving them free advertising" when someone asked for the website for Feral. So from my understanding, things are pretty bad both for the playerbase and employees. I really hope things change for y'all's sakes.
so true I was scammed a few days ago by a new jammer and their STILL on the game NO consequences and it takes so long to get higher up in rarity how have to grind for hours but aj is aj 😍😍
The reason that I believe that Animal Jam isn’t doing IP address bans, is literally so you can make another account. If you get false reported, you can just make a new account. Spam reporters are everywhere, that’s why I don’t really enjoy public games anymore. But if there is an actual hacker, literally hacking, please animal jam. I wish that there could be some moderator in game.
I don't play Animal Jam much nowadays, but I wanted to quickly share my own story with the utter unprofessionalism, manipulation and overall irresponsibility I faced when I was suspended not once, but TWICE for a reason I still cannot explain. I'm thankful to not be banned (yet at least, I haven't logged on in a few months so who knows), but I wanted to share my own story. I would like to quickly preface that I myself work in customer support for another online game and I understand that sometimes, as a support worker, we cannot always give the response users may want to hear. However, the fact Animal Jam denied giving me information about my own suspension is ridiculous. I've been playing Animal Jam since 2011, so well over half of my life by this point. I went on hiatus after not playing the game in about 5 years, and decided to return for fun, repurchase a membership, and enjoy the game as an adult in early 2022. I was unfortunate enough to encounter a scam giveaway on my first day back, which I promptly reported the user and left, and went on with my day. I spent most of my time playing the Forgotten Desert, since that's the adventure I loved as most a kid. Then, I wake up the next day. I'm suspended for 3 days for "scamming." Obviously I didn't do anything, so I send a message to customer support asking what I did wrong. Keep in mind I'm playing under my own email address, and I was over 18 years old when this happened. When I asked what I did to deserve being punished, the customer support service informed me that this is a question for my parents to ask, and that I should contact them on my parent email instead (which, I was sending the message from the same email I use for my dashboard). So, I send another email back. I kindly explained to them that this is my parent email, and that I'm an adult player who would simply like to know what I did to deserve the suspension. However, I was still denied this information, and the customer support worker responding me basically called me a child and refused to answer any of my questions. By this point, I didn't even bother sending an email back, because my suspension was over. I go online, I play the Forgotten Desert, and I figured that would be the end of things. However, guess what happens when I log in the next day? I've been suspended for another 3 days for scamming, despite not having done anything besides play adventures that day. When I tried to contact customer support again, my request was ignored and they couldn't even do the bare minimum of telling me what content I said/posted that warranted a violation of their rules. I've dealt with bad customer support before (looking at Discord suspending users for using their report system), but the fact these are the kind of people running the support system for a kids game is beyond me. I have never encountered such socially inept, rude, and incompetent workers in my entire life and I seriously don't know how these people have a job. Back in the day, when Animal Jam used to still have a number you could call, the receptionists were incredibly friendly and helpful. I just don't know what went wrong. If anyone sees this (especially RegardlesslyAJ) and would like to see screenshots or have more information, feel free to respond to this comment because I still have the logs of my suspensions and the emails saved from when this happened. Until then, I'm just staying away from the game altogether until this is officially addressed and new people are hired. To everyone who has ever been wronged by a support system, I apologize on the behalf of every single bad experience you've had. I devote myself to never be the kind of person while on the job. Edit: I viewed my dashboard and for some reason it states that my first suspension only lasted 24 hours, however I explicitly remember this not being true. I have the emails to verify this as well, which is incredibly shady. Either my memory is a bit off, or they literally changed my discipline history to cover up what happened and give a reason not to respond to my email anymore.
I dropped Animal Jam sometime after the addition of sheep, that's when I finally accepted that they will not be adding new content for non-members nearly as much as they cater to the members. Couple that with the insane chat censorship, how cliquey the community is, and now I'm hearing about ban waves? I'm much happier with my Club Penguin Online account. (It seems that I enjoyed Animal Jam so little that I was all but unaffected in the data breach, helps that I never gave it my mom's bank info.)
I lost my account over 4 years ago for mysterious reasons. I contacted support multiple times and they were f$#@ing *_clueless._* The account is still gone, spikes sheepcloak & all.
as someone who's never even played this mmo and has only remembered it's tv commercial, the current problems you explained about it kind of surprises me
I remember when I used to play AJ, People actually used to ROLEPLAY and have fun than now where 98% of people are silent and just roam around. Also the fact that sapphires for non-members are impossible to get? + How you're unable to get a different animal that's not behind a paywall? (This game is supposedly to be for SMALL CHILDREN and yet they put almost EVERYTHING behind PW where you let your CHILDREN TO PAY? Yeaah, no.) I installed the game again (after some years) where I found out nothing has changed, so I left because how it seems, devs gave up on the game. It's gen sad and dissapointing how the game turned out, never playing it again unless they put their hands up and do something about it. Laughable.
i made my account all the way back in 2011-12, so when the hack wave happened my account was hit HARD 😭 i stopped playing after that. i come back maybe once a year just to run around but it's not as fun as it used to be. my friends and i joke FREQUENTLY about aj kingdom/good vs evil/ school/warrior cats/etc. roleplays and whatever because that was really the most fun a lot of us had when we were younger, and honestly i wish people still held those! nobody even throws parties anymore in the party tab, and i remember back when those came out and the tab would be full ALL THE TIME. trading was never really my priority in aj, but i did have a lot of pretty good items (yk, before the hack wave). i don't think the bitter nostalgia feeling would be so bad if people still played the way they did like idk, 6 years ago or however long it's been, but im not surprised that the game has gone this way. i think everyone still playing can definitely feel the lack of support or care from ajhq, so the game feels largely soulless now. ALL a of the emphasis is just on trading and rares now, which isn't REALLY anything new, but there doesn't seem to be any fun had in the game anymore if it isn't related to rares or shops :(
I read your description and I also got scammed by vampiebat :') A few months ago she said she would give me a hd if I gave her 5k sapphires on playwild. I don't ever play the other animaljam game, so I decided to go for it. Normally, I wouldn't do something just because someone said, but they had a jammer wall, full of accounts and member accounts that seemed legit, saying they were trustworthy. This really sucked. I remember contacting AJHQ but they did nothing about it. Account is still up despite them scamming multiple people.
I'm so sorry to hear you were also a victim of vampiebat :(( Same thing happened to me, and I reported him thinking that action was taken against her, but she's still out there scamming people. The report system feels useless....
I think another issue that needs to be adressed is AJ's spiral into borderline gambling. AJPW specifically is plagued by this with their tokens and wish coins for those new animals (Dragon and Unicorn) It was fine with dinosaurs becausr you could get an egg with sapphires but the same doesn't apply for the others which means the only way to get them is to buy a wish coin and regardless you are getting a random pet so either you get something absolutely doodoo with bad colors, something useable or something desireable by others. The idea that you could get rare just if you buy more wish coins to essentially get more pulls on this lottery is literally 1:1 gambling and the fact that it's in a kids game is deplorable.
Love the editing in this video. :3 Fr though every point you made is so true, i really hope they'll someday fix at least someee of the issues. Mainly the hacking and random banning, cause thats just beyond unfair. I mean we **are** paying them money and they're treating us like a pebble at the bottom of a lake.
@@shroodlecandy Thank you so much!! :O And I completely agree, we all deserve to be treated better than this since we are the ones who are keeping this game alive. :( I hope someday they fix all of these issues aswell.
I'm literally so scared to play aj for the fear that my account will get banned, or that it already is- Animal Jam really gotta get their shit together
My account i had since i was 12 (i am now an adult) i played for 5 years on then i didnt log in for like 9 months and THEY DELETED IT and i was a member for 5 years. After thay i never picked AJ up again. Its been years since i played and i guess it was a blessing in disguise.
AJ was one of my favourite childhood games. I haven't played it in years, but recently I remembered it and was feeling happy and nostalgic - UNTIL I saw the state of the game right now. It's absolutely unacceptable. My inner child is fuming. It makes me livid that AJ is getting away with this! Everyday I hear worse and worse things about what's happening in the game right now. It's unprofessional, cruel and ridiculous. Hopefully AJ will do something about this. Best wishes to everybody affected by this absurdity!
i stopped playing in like 2020, and i tried playing it again a few months ago, but omg WHAT HAPPENED TO THE PHANTOM FELLERS… WHERE ARE THE SILLY PHANTOM MONSTERS THAT I USED TO BE SO SCARED OF…
I just checked up on my childhood acc and it’s permanently banned 😭 I didn’t share my account with ANYBODY, and it makes me so sad that it’s gone. Hopefully one day it will come back ☹️
i haven't played animal jam since 2019 and randomly came across your video and then i just notice all the non-member items they made MEMBER while you're decorating your den, that's insane and so disappointing
I haven’t played this game in ages and got this on my recommended. This game was my life throughout 2013-2017ish, got permanently banned for “selling items” only for them to unban me 28 days later because they “made a mistake”…? How do you accidentally do that lmao? Wild to see this kind of thing is still happening, though. Yikes. 😧
@@damhra That sounds so awful.... how do they make a mistake like that?! The only way I can think of this happening is someone falsely accusing you, but even if someone did, AJ should know better😭😭What the heck!! And yeah... they still have so many things to fix, it's getting worse by the day. 😔
@@jovizEXE They banned my sister too but never reinstated her account or any of our alts…? 😭 I think I only got mine back because this was when you could call them and I was absolutely gutted, the lady I spoke to probably felt bad and thankfully looked into it more. They gave me a blue long and buddied me on the AJHQ account as compensation but wtf 😭
OKAY, YEA, THIS MAKES SO MUCH MORE SENSE 😭I randomly got an alert that the AJ classic account (which had a ton of super rare items, art pieces, and betas) I haven't logged into since I was like 10 got perma banned for innapropriate behavior, and I'm SO confused
great video 💪 glad to see im not the only person that was screwed over by ajhq being negligent to the needs and requests of the playerbase. my main account got hacked in october last year and i have actually no idea how anyone got my account to steal my items but that firstly should've been a big warning sign for that many items leaving my account via trade; but also the last time my account was fine was getting on in june for a nostalgia trip and i recall speaking to one person that wanted to trade me for i think a masterpiece. not sure if those two events are connected but i cannot report anyone since it had been 4 months qwq
I remember when people played the game purely to have fun, I remember when I was 7 I played AJ all the time, I made so many friends and role played all the time. I would go into the arctic wolf cave to do a family role play or whatever, it was fun and innocent. I never cared about the rarity of items, I just collected stuff to make my outfits look cooler and traded for pets I thought where really cute. Now the game is mostly filled with older teens-adults. Nobody really wants to have fun anymore, if you go in the chat there’s no people asking to rp, just My Shop advertisements, everything that comes to the game is in the premium shop. I log on from time to time but the game doesn’t have that same charm it did before it went downhill, it’s pretty sad.
4:08 even on higher end pcs minnowing still crashes us, i have a gaming pc and it crashes me, its all the animations playing at once along w aj being so poorly optimized, no clue why macs are immune, maybe it plays animations one by one instead? 4:27 removing them from the game would be worse than just making it so animated items dont play all at once, it would help w general optimazation 5:53 theyre lazy, too much work for them and people play the gaem anyway, also a loew playerbase means they dont want to ip ban potential players (maybe?) overall i agree w a lot of ur points and its generally a good video, my only complaint is the sudden loud voice or noise or music caught me off gaurd and i was adjusting my volume alot
@buzzshaw4037 - I love all of the points you made here, and I agree with them and see from your perspective! I also didn't know that some high end pc users didn't get crashed, it was just a small observation of mine, so now I know that! Tysm! Animal Jam has a lot to improve on, and the way they're treating their games right now IS lazy, you are completely right. Us players don't deserve this at all. This video was just a few problems I personally saw with the game so I tried my best to come up with suggestions, and it's okay if you don't agree! I think that different approaches in how us players view problems will help Animal Jam weigh what their issue is! Also, I'm sorry about having to adjust your volume... I tend to have a very chaotic editing style to reflect my personality! But I can see how it might be alarming to some people and catch them off guard. And thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts despite all of that, I really appreciate it! :Dd 🩵
ISTG! I've been banned 6 years ago and I was a member with amazing stuff. I hate AJ now bc of all the stuff that's been happening and I wish that AJ would actually fix problems.
I haven't played rhe game in months since it just hasnt been the same as it used to. I remember back in 2018 thinking id never quit. I didn't "quit" but i only log in just to make a masterpiece then disappear for a year 💀
Ouch. As someone who's been playing since 2014, it's AWFUL to see so many players having a bad experience. Things need to get better! :( (I, too, lost my account, Miloki, to a hack in 2020. I got banned!)
I've been thinking abt playing Animal Jam again and its so heartbreaking to see that it seems like the company behind it just doesn't care for its players anymore. I really hope things will change for the better.
I played for the first time since I was a kid a while ago and oh boy- You don't even get starting animal patterns? They force you to have a pet? A randomly generated pet? What is this? I uninstalled it after that what did they do to the little goober game where I demolish people in checkers and that one dodge the volcano creature minigame
It's never occurred to me how purchasing unknowingly super overpriced Animal Jam items could be a form of getting scammed. As a now very upset PW user alot of grindies owe me sapphires.
I've never owned a computer and AJPW has been the only game I was able to play. I eventually stopped playing. Not because of the way they made the Siamese and alsatian. Though that was definitely off putting. Something about them felt more smoothed out and less natural compared to the rest of the game. Which was a shame because new animals were something I always wanted to see, even if I couldn't buy them. What did make me want to quit was exactly that. The introduction of memberships. Growing up I LOVED that AJPW didn't have memberships. It meant that you could enjoy it a whole lot more. There have always been players asking and begging for trades. But back then. The majority of people were wanting to roleplay. Now you go ANYWHERE and all people are asking for is to trade. Begging for items and stuff that's on their wish lists. Nobody wants to actually hang out and make friends anymore. Poisons. Some of them are fun and handy. But the sapphire poisons have brought in more trolls and scammers. After a few tries I stopped bothering with them. A way to get Sapphires. This sort of links into what you mentioned about more gems and diamonds. I feel like at least one mini game solely dedicated to earning sapphires would suffice. Something like touch pool. Just a casual game that's easy to do. And it doesn't have to give you tones either. Or maybe it could be in a party. But having it so that sapphires are only MOSTLY accessible through buying them with real money, is unacceptable. Sure you have the calendar and the daily spins. There's no guarantee that the spin will land on them. And the calendar sapphires are wayyy too far off. If you miss a day on the calendars then they could reset. And every Wednesday with the wheel. If you end up busy for the whole Wednesday and don't have the time for it. Then you miss out. And that sucks. If you're going to make items or animals the ones that have to be bought basically with the money from your own wallet. That's not entirely fair. At least give the players a way to get them at a much more fair rate. Alternatively, use the gems to buy the sapphires and leave the real money for the memberships only. And don't make the memberships so ridiculously highly priced either! It's crazy! What used to be a fun simple animal game to hang out and make friends, has honestly just turned into shark infested waters. At one point I found out that my account's password had been changed somehow. I was nearly in tears, I was so confused. It turned out that AJ HQ had changed players passwords to protect them from hackers. It was terrifying and I had to look up online about it. A message when logging in would have been a good idea. Basically everything I enjoyed about the game, either doesn't exist or isn't worth my time anymore. And that saddens me.
for some reason moderation sucks in most successful games right now. people on roblox are also getting banned for no reason 😭 (hasn’t happened to me yet but still scary lol)
Mhm, one of my best friends got tempbanned for uploading a perfectly sfw decal she made. meanwhile there's people running around casually doing ərp all across the platform that the mods just shrug at and ignore.
REAL, or people who actually break the rules don't get banned. It's so frustrating. Toxicity and bullying is such a common problem, and it feels like the company is purposely ignoring that problem,, and focusing on punishing the innocent players lmaoo
Minecrafts also being a pain with their private server modding etc. I've had an alt banned because of messages (that werent even that offensive) in my PRIVATE realm.
Back in May, I found out some of the accounts that I've had for well over 12 years were logged into by some random a month prior, and I had no idea they were accessed until I actually went in to check in on the game, for nostalgia's sake. When I logged on to them, all the valuable items on them were WIPED completely on PW and PC. I rolled my eyes so hard, because how can a company like that not even *notify* you of a sketchy login? I may not care much about this game anymore, but that doesn't dismiss the complete unprofessionalism on their end.
I had no idea that this was such a widespread issue on AJ! I occasionally return to the game and the last time I did so I noticed that all of my valuable items had vanished… Fortunately I still had 60% of my stuff, but anything that could have been considered valuable was just gone. Suddenly I wasn’t so excited to revisit the game anymore. I reached out to AJ support only to be told they wouldn’t do anything. Then, just recently I got the email that one of my backup accounts was banned for absolutely no reason. When I went to see the activity log in parental controls, the most recent login (a few days before the ban) was for a total of 0 SECONDS!!! How does that make any sense?! Very frustrating, but I will say that it’s reassuring to know it isn’t just me 😭
im genuinely scared to log in. ive had my account since i was 9, im now 18 and i occasionally have an itch to play, but i got 2 emails saying someone was trying to reset my password thankfully my account is locked and now seeing this video it strengthens my fear. i think the only way we can make any progress is if enough people stop putting money into the game, or if a lot of people quit. think of it like people not supporting a business due to a particular belief. AJ doesnt seem to care about their fanbase and players, they just want the money. i dont get why they just have hackers roaming around yet ban innocent people. or even boycotting the shit out of the game, have an insta, tiktok, facebook, youtube of peoples stories, spread awareness, spread times where players can just maybe not play for an entire day as an example. ik its like throwing a bone and hoping they catch it but if you take away 2 major things their going to *HAVE* to do something, the players who keep them funded, then the money. cant have money if they dont have the players they dont care about like you said, nobody should be scared to log into their favorite, or childhood game. from what i can tell most of the players are people who have played since kids and like them i dont want to lose my account yet i want to play but if i log in theres a chance im a victim of a hack, or then banned for no reason
Dude I hear you. I’m 21 now and I love logging in on a stressful day to reorganize my den. I’ve also been getting password reset emails, and I genuinely have nightmares about losing my account. It’s been a part of me for over a decade, and the idea of losing all of those memories is devastating. I’ve got my account in lockdown for now. I miss the community so much.
i stopped playing aj classic a few months ago just because of how difficult it is to do anything as a nonmember. We can’t shop, most of the new items are member only, and we can’t even make masterpieces even if we have the diamonds needed 😔
what's crazy is animal jam clearly sees this type of content discussing the issues about it, and yet chooses not to do ANYTHING about it!! this video goes over so many things I have an issue with and I can assume the majority of the ajc community agrees with you!!
Was just gonna watch and listen to your video as something in the background whilst doing other tasks, but when you talked about the AJHQ support system; oh my god?? I've never had someone articulate the words and feelings to describe the experience of ajhq. In the past I contact them many years ago, but recently I felt like I had to because my account was hacked after not playing for a little bit. I want to make it clear that I locked my account after each play session from repeating the aftermath of the security breach awhile back. They lowkey blamed me for not protecting my password and what not. Honestly it's so frustrating.
i got hacked literally twice a week after i got blackout and double tail. my hacker deleted my otter and unicorns some of my dens too just to be a jerk. i lost so muchhh stuff and the worst part is nobody ever believes you when you got hacked? plus literally all i did was ask ajhq to show me my trade history or account history, that’s literally all i needed because i could see who hacked me but nooo

I was too young to understand the seriousness of it or what was even happening.
They were a wolf doing the howling action, after they told me to do the "sleep" action. I was just too young and confused to realise it's seriousness.
They disappeared out of nowhere though, so they either got kicked or they left before they could be reported.
And that's another problem, it wasn't obvious for new players (especially at such a young age) to know how to report.

that's crazy because literally today I was able to log onto a account I haven't touched in 4 years 😭
That's so weird I havnt touched my account in 2 years but I can still log in just fine

About the IP ban… IP bans are reserved for like, the worst of the worst, because IP banning someone can ban an area around them, like a neighbourhood.
Anyways, I totally agree with this video. I’m on Play Wild, but inventory space and scamming is equally a problem for me. @@asnytex That does exist actually! But, it can be bypassed with a VPN, sometimes by deinstalling your browser or app that you use to run the thing you got banned on, or by different means like switching your MAC address (it’s similar to IP but used to identify devices).

@@jovizEXE yeah and they must of been tracking my chat logs because it was just me and my buddy in my den talking about the situation doubt my buddy reported me

Still annoyed to see it on my record years later though and I get scared that one day they’ll just go along with the ban
Holy, this is such a great idea!! I totally agree with this 100%!
the reason animal jam classic cant add many more updates is because when flash died in 2020 it made the game incredibly hard to update and acces!!
minnowers are annoying but its pretty easy to avoid if u have access to your parent dashboard, since they cannot crash your game if you turn trading off. its insanely irritating though, and the fact WE are blamed for it is insane.
what has always worried me is the mishandling of predators on animal jam. I had interactions with multiple grown adults who acted inappropriately towards me and my friends when i was as young as 11 year olds, and ajhq never did anything about it.
4:28 The wah my neurons activated when I saw the FMan wolf again after so many years😥😥😥😥
ABSOLUTELY TRUE.!!
glad to have sat through this; you have a nice voice,- easy flowing and nice to sit through.!!
i actually enjoyed watching this video, and i'm not usually big on commentary.!!
i, like a lot of other people, used to love animal jam and it was a massive part of my childhood;
it's so glad to see that it's still got a community that's still living on!!
@slavrolo Thank you so much for listening!! I was actually very worried this video would be boring, since I'm not a big fan of commentaries either. So I'm glad you enjoyed it! Means alot to me. 🩵🩵
And yes!!
Honestly true i got suspended for no reason and got a npc message when i emailed
Im so paranoid that im avoiding trading on bradys because take ages to get there cuz full and boom ur minnowed and u need to spam join again *wow!*
@@rosez64aj This is SO upsetting 😭😭 and minnowers are extremely annoying. It sucks they can just sit there with nothing we can do about it.
thanks for yapping omega
Animal Jam ghosted me SO MANY TIMES trying to get my account back it’s insane. What a shitty company.
I contacted support multiple times and they were f$#@ing *_clueless._* The account is still gone, spikes sheepcloak & all.
as someone who's never even played this mmo and has only remembered it's tv commercial, the current problems you explained about it kind of surprises me
being scared of being banned = being scared of playing aj 😭
I remember when I used to play AJ, People actually used to ROLEPLAY and have fun than now where 98% of people are silent and just roam around.
Also the fact that sapphires for non-members are impossible to get? + How you're unable to get a different animal that's not behind a paywall? (This game is supposedly to be for SMALL CHILDREN and yet they put almost EVERYTHING behind PW where you let your CHILDREN TO PAY? Yeaah, no.)
I installed the game again (after some years) where I found out nothing has changed, so I left because how it seems, devs gave up on the game.
Fr though every point you made is so true, i really hope they'll someday fix at least someee of the issues. Mainly the hacking and random banning, cause thats just beyond unfair. I mean we **are** paying them money and they're treating us like a pebble at the bottom of a lake.
@@shroodlecandy Thank you so much!! :O
And I completely agree, we all deserve to be treated better than this since we are the ones who are keeping this game alive.
4:27 removing them from the game would be worse than just making it so animated items dont play all at once, it would help w general optimazation
5:53 theyre lazy, too much work for them and people play the gaem anyway, also a loew playerbase means they dont want to ip ban potential players (maybe?)
overall i agree w a lot of ur points and its generally a good video, my only complaint is the sudden loud voice or noise or music caught me off gaurd and i was adjusting my volume alot
(I, too, lost my account, Miloki, to a hack in 2020.
I may not care much about this game anymore, but that doesn't dismiss the complete unprofessionalism on their end.
i literally haven't even started the video yet but i saw ur venti pfp and i already love u
@@andiebelles 🩵!!!
AJ doesnt seem to care about their fanbase and players, they just want the money. i dont get why they just have hackers roaming around yet ban innocent people.
or even boycotting the shit out of the game, have an insta, tiktok, facebook, youtube of peoples stories, spread awareness, spread times where players can just maybe not play for an entire day as an example. ik its like throwing a bone and hoping they catch it but if you take away 2 major things their going to *HAVE* to do something, the players who keep them funded, then the money. cant have money if they dont have the players they dont care about
like you said, nobody should be scared to log into their favorite, or childhood game. from what i can tell most of the players are people who have played since kids and like them i dont want to lose my account yet i want to play but if i log in theres a chance im a victim of a hack, or then banned for no reason
Honestly it's so frustrating.
as a ajpw main, and a non member for both games, it is extremely hard to play classic as buying or doing ANYTHING requires a membership!!
They never make any new animals or items anymore, just cheap recolors.
I got perma banned for inappropriate language? Unless I've been hacked, I haven't touched my account in years.
i got hacked literally twice a week after i got blackout and double tail. my hacker deleted my otter and unicorns some of my dens too just to be a jerk. i lost so muchhh stuff and the worst part is nobody ever believes you when you got hacked? plus literally all i did was ask ajhq to show me my trade history or account history, that’s literally all i needed because i could see who hacked me but nooo
Since the quackity raid I don't think Animal Jam has ever been the same.
honestly yeah someone glitch accepted my trade and got no consequences when i contacted aj
