Greetings from Scotland! Yes, what a voice! For me, there is no other female singer in this world with such a voice and with such a vocal talent! That hauntingly beautiful opening is breath-taking!
Every May 9th Diana and her family honour Diana's Grandad - Pavel Ivovich Ponik (Павел Ивович Поник) - Guard Sergeant, Red Army and all the fallen in the Great War all those years ago.
This was a tribute to all those lost souls.
"Victory Day" is a holiday that commemorates the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in 1945. It was first inaugurated in the 15 republics of the Soviet Union following the signing of the German Instrument of Surrender late in the evening on 8 May 1945 (9 May Moscow Time).

Like Diana'sGrandfather, my Grandfather, Great Uncles also served during WWII. The young Ladies of the time also sacrificed much, my Great Aunts worked in the factories and farms to support their family's. We call this.... the greatest generation. Sadly, they are almost all gone now, may they rest in peace.

👉 On May 9, Diana Ankudinova sang the famous Soviet song 'Polyushko-Polye'. She sang it in memory of the heroes who fell in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). Did you see her eyes... so sad. I have tears in my eyes and goosebumps all over.
This song has been sung for 90 years. It was written in 1933 and was included in the repertoire of Leonid Utesov (*1895-1982. He is considered one of the founding fathers of Soviet jazz) and other famous performers of that time.

This was performed in films and at holiday concerts, as well as at military parades. Diana sang in memory of the soldiers of all countries who fought against fascism in 41-45.😎
Only the song was written in 1933 and dedicated to the Red Army, in 1941-1945 there was the Soviet Army.
