Hi there, I have one of these and I love it, EXCEPT, it has a stuck iris making it not so great as a recording device unless i like filming solid black. Any suggestions on how I might get to the iris to un-stick it? Ever experienced this?
@@njbreeze2330 You know I've know really had it on enough to figure that out. I would look for a user manual online. I'll be looking into it soon though. I'm getting mine back from a fella who was able to "shock" my 450's iris back into working order.. hopefully it stays that way.. best takeaway.. don't leave the AG450 off for 20-30 years.. :)
Hello ! I have two of these and they power up when plugged in and everything seems operational, but the viewfinder shows no image and they seem not to record when I press record. Any suggestions? Thanks !!! Love your video !!!!
I bought the exact same camcorder. I tried to return mine because the manual iris never worked properly. But they said that was a known issue and wouldn't take it back.
@@RobbieStrike I got it mail order out of NY, when I told him the problem he said it was a known issue with that model. I told him how could I have known that? He said I should have tried one out in a store near me before I bought it. The manual iris would work partially, but it would fully close if you turned it past half closed or so. I think I paid close to $1500 for it. I was a huge fan of Panasonic camcorders and VCR's. The AG-450 was my 4th Panasonic videocamera ( and first camcorder ) at the time. Looking back I was way more impressed with the WV-3260 when I first got it. The picture was incredible for the time. Whereas the AG-450 seemed not much better than the consumer level S-VHS Camcorders at the time.
Question. All i do to charge the battery is leave it plugged into the adapter & it’ll just do the rest? ; only asking because i just purchased one and when i test it out it works while plugged in but I’m assuming the batteries just need more time to charge? ; if u could get back to me on this I’d highly appreciate it!
Was my batteries are over 20 years old so they don't work anymore. Just the age of the old one's. When I ran it in this video I had it plugged in the whole time I was operating. I haven't looked to see if you can actually buy new ones but I doubt it considering the fact that that model has been made in years
ottawaoctane yeah kinda figure that one out, when I realized it through the eye monitor on the camera 🎥 🙁 I had such high hopes for it but was resulted to disappointment.
@@RobbieStrike I'm based in New York, but I know FedEx does free pickup. Maybe we can arrange it that way? I'm very interested in purchasing this from you. Is there a good e-mail to contact you?
@ottawaoctane What exactly are you connecting the two RCA cables from the AC adaptor to on your VCR? Are these composite video connections? Can't seem to find a manual anywhere online for the AG-B3 AC adaptor.
Benjamin Lopez not sure if you bought one yet but you can get them pretty cheap if you look on places like Facebook market place. I’m picking one up tomorrow complete in its box for only $60

you could swap the viewfinder with a different Panasonic camcorder!
I have swapped the two viewfinders, but it looks like they both don't work! I'm gonna try and fix them...
Can you help me set the date on my AG 450
I have one, but I can't seem to get video to record or show up in the viewfinder, or even on a TV, any ideas?
Do you have the output adapter? It switches modes when you slide the cover for the buttons. Maybe the switch there is not working!

"known issue" What kind of excuse is that, They should have got you a new one. Hopefully you did not buy from that store again!

I have a similar but it refuses to play old vhs tapes because I was testing and just gave me lines on my screen.
Something is broke in it :(
