First: Scientists have detected bursts of plasma, called chorus waves, in an unexpected part of space. This discovery raises questions about how they were formed. Anna Matteo has the details. (1:15)
Next: A New York food bank was offered more than 18,100 kilograms of salmon. But there was a problem. The Food Bank of Central New York needed to find a way to remove about 13,000 fish from the water and then process them into fillets. They did it with the help of the business and many volunteers. John Russell reports.
Then: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a treatment to reduce severe high blood pressure. The treatment targets some nerves in the kidneys using ultrasound. Doctors think the treatment might reduce nerve signals that can affect blood pressure. Andrew Smith reports on the subject for this week's Health and Lifestyle Report. (10:06)
Finally: The Lesson of the Day. Jill Robbins and Andrew Smith base their instruction on the LE video series Let's Learn English. Today, they talk about episode 23, which focuses on food trucks and international cuisine. Learn the language of US coin money and some fast-spoken English terms. "Whaddaya" think Andrew and Jill might teach us? (17:12)
Caty and Mario close the show.
