I had professors asking if I wanted to do grad studies. I was already aware of a lot of these problems, but the more I hear, the more I'm glad I dodged that bullet. I had some great profs who I'm sure would have been great supervisors, but when the system's broken, that only counts for so much.
That is so true that’s the issue too, there are some great PIs but as you said if the entire infrastructure is an issue then there isn’t much we can do

I do indeed, thank you for the heads up I am looking into a better audio setup (shotgun mic pointed at me in close proximity out of frame) and then auto match in premiere pro
@@Aamirphd In most video editing softwares you can tune up the volume (usually in the audio mixer or master and sometimes in video effects, depending on the software used). Btw I just discovered your channel and wonder why you have so few views. Shared your videos with my student collegues, really good seeing someone talk about these topics instead of asking myself "Am I the only one thinking like this?". While I do speak a lot with my collegues about these topics, many do not seem to be that engaged or care that much to nurture a discussion on the depth level of your videos. Will take some time to go through your video history :)

Glad you brought up the unfairness of OA that everyone thinks is there for the poor. It's very bad for the poor and good for the rich countries.
