Mysore was a vassal state of the Marathas but after the rise and subsequent take-over of throne of the erstwhile Wodeyar ruler of Mysore, by Haider Ali, it became independent. But nonetheless remained a tributary state of the Marathas until the time of Tipu Sultan's fall in 1799.
Marathas recovered from the aftermath affects of their defeat at Panipat(1761). Marathas reestablished their hold over Northern India by 1770s. Schools need to be reformed. No more attacking Jews and rehashing the past.
Teach focusing on bettering the community and working with others.

1. The Arabs need to understand that the Jews are not going anywhere.
2. They should stop carrying out terrorist attacks and dream of another Arab state.
3. They should appreciate life, want to live and make a living like any normal person.
If they don't want to, they can move to another country or return to the countries where their parents or grandparents came from (the majority from Egypt and Jordan).

What has happened is that the facts of Mo's lifestyle and religion has become mainstream knowledge in Kerala like never before, and that often forces the believer to make a choice. You either become extreme or you leave altogether, the usual whitewashed "moderate" religion is harder to sustain.
Ex-Muslim movement is an offshoot of the rationalist movement in Kerala, It took off since the 1980s, though there were no dedicated Ex-Muslim organizations in the stricter sense, but there were many Ex-Muslims within the atheist/rationalist movement since those early times..

Harris, in this discussion, I noticed a diffrent Harris, whose understanding of Indian society is now more mature. I suppose this was to happen naturally with time and discussions like today's. You view is now becoming balanced, you seems to understand the many strands of Indian society which sometimes lead to conflicts, the fight for survial etc.

Hindus recognize that human beings have divinity within them and certain practices and reading the Shastra’s and upanishads aid you in the effort! But human beings are at different levels of realization and therefore Karma is important. Philosophy of Advaitya versus Dwaitya. Therefore Hindu is a Culture not a religion. Within the Culture there are Shaivites and Vaishnavites and Aryasamaj , Brahmosmaj and many others! Have fun! Never forget to question everything!
Hindu philosophy is a double edged sword for Hindus...good because it allows us to discover our individuality and bad because it failed to unite Hindus which led to the destruction of our country and we are still not united to fight against the predatory religion.
