@@TheWanderingHartz Local SIM. I'd use eSim, but I'd have to buy a new expensive phone 😮

Here are a few inexpensive esim enabled phones (all Android):
      Google Pixel 3 Series (3a, 3a XL, 3 XL)
Google Pixel 4 and 4a (including 5G version)
      Samsung Galaxy Z Flip
      Huawei P40 Series (P40, P40 Pro, P40 Pro Lite)
      Huawei Mate 20 Pro
They might be an option as a second phone (if you dont want to give up your current phone) and could possibly find them used too.

So much great information, I've been looking for content on this topic! Just subscribed to your channel and excited to learn more about your journey and full time travel tips :) My husband and I plan to travel 8 months a year abroad (outside the US), starting our travels in 1 year. A big thing I'm trying to solve is being able to use 2FA apps and receive texts to still access banks, financial institutions, etc. Airlo has been highly recommended by vloggers but can you somehow keep a US # while on Airlo and moving countries every few months? Thank you!!

Thanks, glad it is helpful. Sounds like a great travel plan!
So we ported our numbers to google voice and ue the voice app for all of our calls (data) and sms. It has worked for us so far. However there are other solutions (some similar) as well. I will add this to a list of videos to do as I need to do a little more research myself. Porting to google voice is a drastic transition.
As for airalo, it works fine as long as your mobile phone is unlock. It is data only, so no sms (2FA unless via data, is. voip). There are multiple esim providers and i have a few reviews of the ones we have been testing coming out soon.
WIth an esim you are purchasing data to use in each county or region. Very few provide local minutes or sms (asia).

Hi guys, my husband and I have been subscribers for a while now. We are starting our "Part time" travel journey. We moved to Portugal last year and plan to travel throughout Europe (on a budget) next year from June-October. We would really like to visit Bulgaria and are planning to attend the Nomadfest in 2025. I have tried to reach out to the Four Leaf clover for prices and bookings but no one is responding. Do you have any thoughts on that? Also, are there other places in Bansko you recommend for a month stay? Thank you. Alyssa

Hi Alyssa, We love Portugal! How super exciting.
Have you tried contacted them by email? You can also reach out via instagram (DM). They usually communicate via email or whatsapp (once they have made initial contact). We are there now, so if you can't get ahold via those two methods send us an email and we can try to connect you.
As for other places in Bansko, there are a few new Flatio rentals if you want ta platform, otherwise the FB groups are a good way to find stays in the summer.

@@TheWanderingHartz Thank you so much for this information. I have emailed them a couple of times. As of now I have not heard back. We are not on FB or Instagram (yet). If you could try to connect us that would be so helpful!! We watched your video on Albania last night, what area of Sarande were you in? I have been looking at Air bnb's there as well. If you are ever back in Portugal please let us know. We would love to meet up with you!

Shoot us an email (in our channel info page) and I'll give it to FLC.
We were central, near the promenade. A lot of stays on AirBnB are up on 5th road (up the hill abit) or on the outskirts of town (30 + min Walk to center). 😀
