Al is not lying about Kyle's chords being haunting . That Nite and Day beat is so haunting yet so triumphant. To this day I still have heard nothing like that instrumental
Me too. I first heard the use of the music when it was sampled for LL Cool Js song Loungin on his Mr Smith album. Something made me deeply research who was behind the music and the trail led to Albie Sure prod by Kyle West. I then concluded I love everything Kyle coz I liked where I wanna be by Donnell, Alone with You by Tevin...to this day, those are still standout R&B tracks...even from a keyboard arrangement point of view..
I Just couldn't stop smiling thru this interview. I boughtf Al b sure records and Kyle West productions. Thanks for bringing this interview. Its very special.🎉
"I can testify to the enormous work that was done on the album by Al B Sure! "In Effect Mode" because I am fortunate enough to own 9 audio cassettes containing different demo versions of Nite and Day, Off On Your Own (Girl), Rescue Me.. .Rescue Me Madness (a different version of Rescue Me)... There is also a track that was called "I'm Through With All The Shame" at the time (later Ooooh This Love Is So) and No Matter What You Do. All dated 1987 with some of them indicating that the cassette is intended for producer Andre Harrell, even with his phone number!! In Effect Mode is my favorite New Jack Swing album! Al B Sure! and Kyle West have made me dream with their music for years. I thank them immensely!!" They are the perfect team!!
Thank you. Al B Sure trusts that I focus on celebrating them not looking for gossip. He's been a supporter of Halftime Chat and reached out to suprise his cousin 😁
I remember that album from around 2009 Terrence Quentin Dudley whom he worked with before contributed to it he would be great on here what a talented guy.
Slammin' interview with Kyle West & Al B. Sure. Coincidently, I became a good friend of Beverly Bond (Black Girls Rock) 12 years after she appeared as Al B. Sure's love interest in his debut video "Nite and Day." Exotically beautiful she was in his video then, and still is beautiful till this day. Also, my older brother tells me Al B. Sure hung out with them at "Rock Bottom", back in the day in Harlem (131 Street & Lenox Ave.) If Al B. Sure can confirm that early 80s story, I'll grant my older brother a long-overdue musical collaboration between us. 😄 Thanks for another awesome interview Halftime Chat!!! 🏆🥇💯💯💯💯
🙏🏿Many stars ascended from where I grew up, and it's wonderful seeing the successes of the selected few. Halftime Chat and works contributes MUCH to the culture.✊🏿 We're having a blast seeing our past favorites share their stories!!!👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
@@musiclover-cn7tb Yes, Beverly was a model before she surprisingly morphed into a prominent dj at "Joe's Pub" in East Village, NYC. She says she learned MUCH music from me back in the days lol. We became friends after we both met in Manhattan at a record shop i worked at (One Love Records.) Also, she was featured in Christion's 1997 video "Full of Smoke." Pay close attention to catch her in brief shots, among MANY other beautiful sistas in that video...En Vogue members included. Peace to you music lover1984.
Hey, AJ...... I mean Al B., u look good, Brother. No one knows, but I knew him, as AJ, in our earlier years, at The Telephone Center, in New Rochelle. Off the hwy. They hired us cause we had good speaking voices to do telephone surveys.... When I saw his single “Night & Day” at a record store, in 23rd Street, in NY, I was like “He’s on his way!”.👍🏾
@@HalftimeChat Either way, it’s all good. Some ppl like to forget some things they use to do coming up. When u worked at The Telephone Center, u had the option to use a different name, he went by the name AJ, so that stayed with me. But when I met him there, he was class. Gentlemen, low key, kept to himself. Never had drama. Didn’t stay long.👍🏾
It's not. Al B. did an interview where he was holding a cane on the couch signifying something like he has the "cane" because he's "abel". Don't quote me; I suck, bro. lolololololol
If you notice that I was shocked when he said he was in the hospital with his mum, I couldn't believe it then we find out that he's talking from her room. Levels 😇
Al knew he was sexy on Sexy Verzuz when that chick Freddi or some male name she had that sung co-lead with Al on "I Die 4 You" which should have been a single. She was in the 1991 Had Enuf? Soul Train stage performance with Al whe Al introduced her to the late Don Cornelius on stage after that stellar performance.
Very interesting to hear the man behind 🎵Kyle West, break it down!🎵 @7:29 - Albert means noble, bright. "Origin: German. Meaning: noble, bright, famous. Just think of Einstein and Schweitzer. Your baby boy is in outstanding company if you choose the name Albert. It comes as no surprise that this name is of German origin and means “noble,” “bright,” and “famous.” Such a definition has never been so fitting for one name!" Source: The Bump
Hey, Nnamdi, let me know what part 1 was. I think it was u describing him with different ppl like Tim Gatling, Father MC, Jimmy Jenkins, & AJ... I mean Al B. in the studio with Teddy working on a new track?.👍🏾
Two things I need to say: (1) am I the only one whom respect Nnamdi for letting them talk by not making it a traditional interview? Al B. wants to come back because he felt so comfortable; continue that format with Al B., Nnamdi. Good job, man. (2) the chemistry is unweathered and unfettered between Kyle and Al B. Two K. Wests: Kyle and non-related Kan(ye), both talented, but Kyle was the first K. West to do it!!!! (3) I LIED: Bonus: since Nnamdi won't do it, but I will, "Al! Ayo fam! Finish writing that book and give us that new Trap Soul R&B CD. Teach Quincy Brown how to make a real B. Sure famlee album! Teach Lil Al how to make a real Trap Soul album.
