Her name is Lucy Ann Polk... My father's sister. They started out as a young singing group even in their teens they were taking it but she made it to the big time my dad did too but he was in orchestra. I met her when I was 25 and she was 55 and we were hip to hip for days. I was so in love with her. That woman could walk into a room and everyone would just STOP. True story I still miss her.
Some great players in the band! Looks like Zoot Sims's brother, Ray did that tastefully done trombone solo, and Dave Pell did the tenor sax solo. On the right end of the trombone section was Les Brown's brother, "Stumpy" on bass trombone. Great band.
Love this man and his insightfully inspirational music!!! I can still see my Mum and Dad grooving to this and their Parents. This music will always appeal to the Romantic and Wholesome at heart!!! What Magnificient Melodies that will never die!!! 1million stars to whom ever put this music up for my entire pleasure THANKS MEGA!!!!
Joli ! my Nicky !
Have a good swingin' time , NICKY .
The Greatest Generation no other Generation compares to this era not even 1950s.
