As someone who has lived in different regions in Ghana and visited a lot of villages, I can say that a toilet facility is one of the most important needs in any community. It's really not easy out there... we are in Accra here and taking things like WCs for granted...travel and see.

Scanty, what need is more pressing than the health of a community. A community plagued with high morbidity increases its mortality rate, affecting its effective labour or working force. The school you're talking about, if the children are always ill building the school will be a waste cos learning wouldn't be effective, with the roads, roads are mainly to aid commerce and if you have a sick community with a low working force the supposed benefit of the road would be markedly diminished. The MP obviously can't do everything together, and the fact that she started there tells me she's smart. What is more efficient than using less (toilet facility) to accomplish more (boosting health and labour force). I just hope this is not a one-off thing. Cos with proper planning you can achieve more with your limited funds
