I've been recently watching up cycling jeans from several channels and I swear yours is hands down the best. You didn't make it complicated just clear and concise on how to do this wonderful maxi skirt. Thank you thank you thank you I will be making this skirt today for me to wear this weekend. ❤❤❤❤❤
This reminds me of the mid 70's when I was a teenager, graduated in 76 and this skirt was so popular in our high school, still love it and the boho, hippie, gypsy style!!! My era, my favorite!!❤❤❤❤
Knowing that I'll never fit in my favorite jeans again is so depressing but this is a great way to make them fit again ❤! Love so many of your designs. You are so creative and amazing! So glad I found your channel! ❤❤❤
I had been using old jeans I pick up for nearly nothing to make bags. I saw your video and decided to make a skirt from jeans that are worn nearly out. Thanx for making this easy to follow.
While you were cutting all the parts of the pants and putting on the embellishments, I was thinking about how this would all come together. It is an absolutely adorable skirt.
I finally did it, made jeans into a maxi skirt and had so much fun doing it. It does do my head in having un-neatened seams. My mother was a seamstress in the 20's & 30's and taught my sister and myself the fundamentals of dressmaking and unfinished seams and hems was a no no. I have enjoyed the experience. Thank you. Keep your tutorials coming, I love them.
I’ve been making skirts out of jeans for quite a few years now, and I’ve probably made at least 50 skirts by now! Definitely I enjoy incorporating the “extra stitching” (inseam) into my skirt designs. After creating so many jeans skirts, you start experimenting with other possibilities, and not the traditional A-line denim skirt. By the way, I LOVE your maxi skirt! It’s super cute, and you did a really creative design!!😍
Hi 👋 Tracy !! I haven’t been able 2 watch for about 3 weeks trying to care for my EXTREMELY disabled brother ( but standing on FATHERS PROMISES & having faith he WILL BE HEALED! ROMANS 4:17 CALL THOSE THINGS THAT ARE NOT AS IF THEY WERE !!!)!! I saw you wearing this skirt in your newest vid and I absolutely love it so much , that I couldn’t wait & had to watch it first . LOLOL. 😂😂 I have watched a lot of these & have seen a million on Pinterest & I PROMISE YOU , YOUR JEAN SKIRT , your pattern-style - IS THE BEST OUT OF ALL OF THEM! What I really dig and it makes such a huge difference is that one extra triangle piece you sewed on the outside of what was the pant leg . Somehow it gives the skirt an entirely different look and as I said I absolutely love it !! And you ARE THE ONLY ONE I’ve ever seen do it !!! I wanted to say congratulations on all your new followers ! Your channel just seems to be taking off bc everyone loves your boho creativity lol. I say Boho bc every chance you get you try to put some sorta Tracy Boho spin on whatever project you are working on LOLOL! AND EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH COMES OUT FRIGGEN AMAZING ! In all seriousness I foresee you hitting a million and I believe it will come pretty quick at least compared to others bc your creativity is totally unique & ppl can’t get enough and just love it !! I wanted to ask u if you could give me some suggestions on how I can use these 3 huge garbage bags filled with different colored satin material and other super luxurious materials I’ve been saving for that perfect pattern or project …. Well now that years have passed & afraid I’ll waste it . Your creativity is on a totally different level so maybe you could even come up w/ some kind of project that you could do using satin or something close, & at the same time we all get to see your creative juices at work lol! BOTTOM LINE ITS NOT COTTON OR JEAN MATERIAL so can you show us what cute project / projects you could come up with ? ( crossing my fingers u take on the challenge ) THANK YOU !! ❤😇😁😎🧸
Just when I think that you can’t get any more awesome you make something like this I totally love it. I’m so grateful I found your channel. Love your designs your personality. It’s so nice and refreshing to see someone so creative. Get out there and share their talents. Thank you, Tracy.
I have just discovered your channel, thank you YT! I love repurposing clothes for myself. It started when I was 13 years old (‘66) with a pair of jeans, then on to my aunts gorgeous felt circular skirt, that became a cape and I have been happily adapting clothes ever since. What started as necessities, became a great way to have one off pieces. I am going to like it here! ☘️💚☘️
This was fun to watch!! I made one of these back in the 70’s (I’m 68 now) and painted on it with acrylic paints. I also made a short skirt with bib overalls. Thanks for the flash back!!
@@tmyershandmade978 I truly did!! I just retired 3 years ago because my husband had a massive stroke, and passed in July in the nursing home. My sister encouraged me to “find a hobby” to occupy my mind. I always loved sewing/creating, love fabrics and colors. I am just now getting my mojo back and have begun playing again. The reason I’m sharing this is to let you know how you have positively affected my life. Watching you “do your art” has helped to spark me to “do my art”. I’ve been just doing small things to re-acclimate my brain’s wiring for creating. Thrift shopping has been a blast; seeing/feeling the fabrics and building my storehouse is completed and I feel I’m ready to really play!! I know this is a long post, but I just wanted to give you a heart felt thanks!! Carry on, my friend! 😘💕
Aww I appreciate that so much. I'm so sorry to hear about your husband. When you talk about fabrics, I can totally relate. I get so excited to find quality beautiful fabrics, it might very well be the reason I do what I do. I think starting small and easing your way back into it is a brilliant plan. I always love hearing from you, thank for sharing. I look forward to following your journey, please keep me updated.💞💞💞💞

This was so fun for me to watch ... a total blast from the past. My best friend in high school (early 80's) used to do this with her old jeans. The more things change, the more they stay the same!
Im working on this so far I cut the jeans next it will be making the panels for the inside I think this n is one of the best tutorials I seen so far on a Jean skirt thank you!
I was searching for long denim skirts online and then I decided to search how to make one out of old jeans and came across you video. Wow, blown away. So cute and such good instructions. Time to get out my sewing machine.
Adorable !! I love how versatile your looks are 🤩 I agree completely that you can really change the look by changing the shoes, jewelry, and top... TOO CUTE !! 😍
This is so inspiring. I have a much-mended pair of jeans that I love, but I think the inner thigh is about done. I think this video might have shown me their next incarnation.
Thank you so much for this!…making my skirt at the moment but was confused as to what to do at one point, but after watching this video,I know exactly what to do now👏🏼👌🏼

But I went on to making my own clothes from flour sacks and any thing else my mom would let me have. I have to admit, I didn't quite catch on to the raw edges aspect! Not sure why, usually I am a very quick thinker- and some part of me was arguing inwardly, lol, over the twists in the front seams pieces. And your casual attitude about cutting the hemline. But it dawned on me, at a certain point. I went along, trusting you, though this is the first time I am seeing you. It came together just beautifully. I bought some jeans that I just loved the fabric of- tried them on at home, and they just don't sit right, was going to cut them all apart- i love cutting clothes apart to make new things...BUT No, instead, I am going to cut them apart for a really voluminous skirt, and re-live some of my youth that I was too old for, back then--Just like the song: Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now. 🥀🥀🥀

Thank you so much 💞💞💞💞💞
I have to admit, I didn't quite catch on to the raw edges aspect! 🥀🥀🥀
