Did you know that Microsoft actually released an unofficial Service Pack 2 for Windows 7? Yes, they did, and they never said anything about it. There is a prerequisite file that needs to be installed first, then the unofficial service pack 2 can be applied. That's all part of this complete breakfast in this video. Then I try to install the last version of Chrome for Windows 7, but Internet Exploder downloads it but refuses to run it. So I went to my archives and found the full installer file. Chrome went and installed no problem of course. Then I try to get Portable Update to run, knowing full well that it does run under 7 as such, but for whatever reason it was telling me that the system did not meet the minimum system requirements, even though clearly I have. I'll take care of that--I always do. But at the time this video was being recorded, I had to get back to dinner that I had cooking and I had enough of playing with this machine for the day. This will continue on, and it only gets better from here!

If I am understanding correctly, I think there was a similar issue on winders XP trying to install programs. An update fixed the issue.
That SSD sure makes quite a difference. Even on my system it seems slow to boot in to windows , as well as logging in. I recently did a fresh install too.
There are other programs that need to be installed like Visual C++ and whatnot else. All of that has been installed. I got everything I can possibly think of installed, but of course there were still more programs, minor stuff I forgot about.
I also (not shown in this series) installed WINEVDM which allows some 16-bit programs to install and run within a 64-bit environment. For example, I have a dictionary program from the Windows 3.1 days that I continue to use regularly. It's old, it's outdated, and it's not exactly the most comprehensive dictionary I have ever used, but it's been a mainstay. It shows a list of all the words on the right side, with WINEVDM it no longer shows that, but that's not a problem, because I use it when I already know a word and need a definition, so I just type it in.
That SSD is extremely fast, this thing is absolutely blazing. Like I had stated, in this part or the next one, it has slowed down in real use cases, but even at that, it's still 10 times faster than the old system. I will happily accept a 10-fold increase in speed, even if it's not up to today's standards, and is far from it at that!
