I was there that day. In the parade ring a deafening silence greeted the winner. Punters couldn’t believe the great horse got beat. But over 1 mile 2 f !
Want to compare stud careers? Crazy how these things work out. Even though Fantastic Light had a stellar lineage, his progeny did not fare well at all. You know who Galileo sired.
@@robertdelacy3434 NO WAY!. Around 100 years ago a high class handicapper called Pharlaris started his stud career. Today pretty much any thoroughbred racehorse that wins a group race anywhere in the world comes from his line. To do that in around 100 years is exdrodanairy. There are quite a few candidates for "greatest stallion of all time". I prefer the most influential stallion, and that is Pharlaris.
2 great horses these constant head to heads hardly ever happen anymore racing should look back at these days. Perfect example of why less racing is better
A performace enhanced drugged up fantastic light. Godolphin was drugging his horses at this time and was caught twice later on and got banned. Shows you how good a horse GALILEO was and ghis showed from his progeny
I was there that day with my late dad. One of the greatest races ive witnessed in person.
A fantastic horse race by two great hoses !!and two great jockeys !!!
He visto esta carrera infinidades de veces, y cada vez que la vuelvo a ver , se me erizan los pelos, magistral. ❤❤❤
Great race! Good example of how a ride can make the winning difference when there's fine margins in horses ability.
Also Galileo probably better at 1mile4f. But you know Fantastic Light deserved this and what made it so special.
Fantastic Light was not going to be denied
Twenty years ago, only seems like yesterday
Horse racing at is absolute best second to none 🎉❤💪 👌 👍 😍 🥰 ☺️ 🎉
All are Legends the jockey and the 🐎 horse 🏇🙌 brilliant 👏👌😀👍

the inside line is what made the difference
I think there is a better call for this race where the narrator is absolutely excited
Was there this day with two very good friends of mine 😊two furlongs out hammer and thongs great race gallileo just couldn't get past

Frankie doing a Lester in the closing stages
Excellente monte de dettorri,
Au contraire du jockey du 5,

Rodney Mickes. 2 great horses battling it out. Bustino and Grundy and it broke both of them.
Galileo had plenty of time to go by. Fantastic light best on the day.
Fantastic light like all Godolphin horses were given drugs to improve performance at this time.

Fantastic light needed to stalk galileo to win but instead he got stalked by galileo
First time that commentator ever got out of first gear wasn’t it?
By this stage of his career Galileo probably needed 12f.
Galileo pacemaker ffkkdd up. The pace he went rendered his role pointless. Should have stayed handier.
Sorry meant galileo not fantastic light 🤦♂️
Montjeu absolutely annihilated Fantastic Light in the King George (He'd have done the same to Galileo). One of the all time greats!
Beetrootman, what a load of crap you talk 😢
nonsense comment
Maybe, maybe not
Horses don’t run at their absolute best every time they race.
To compare in such a simplistic way is meaningless
@@elgransenor1472 nice to see a logical, sensible answer ,I’m afraid we do have a few dreamers on here😉
Hilarious comments from some real halfwits 🤣🤣🤣🤣
