In Philippines, you're good if you can reach high notes and he was able to do that when he was a kid, so losing that resulted to the loss of confidence.. but Pablo gave him that vote of confidence back, teaching how he can maximize his low voice.. 😊
I love Ken's deep voice,which drew me to him.But more than his voice,I love his talent,artistry, character and authenticity.
Filipinos prefer belters before. That is why, Ken felt insecure with his voice. But not now, Filipinos is starting to appreciate low/bass voice singers, all thanks to Ken.
Ken belter before puberty hits him
Ken is such a mysterious beautiful talented man. When he went through puberty, his voice became deep and he wasn’t really confident with singing. Then when he joined SB19, Pablo said, you don’t have to have to hit high notes, it’s all about the skill and technique on how you use your voice. And once he discovered this and developed his skills and technique he is the first member to release a solo song. Amazing story. Love him! Love them 5! No one said it wasn’t liked, he assumed it won’t be liked. But now that he discovered his voice, OMG! Right!?🔥🔥🔥

It was more in terms of singing. Coz Filipinos prefer belters (high pitch singers?). But I love and prefer Ken’s voice. Powerful, vibrating, yet warm.

Maybe he did put out more solos ahead he is one of the 100 Top paid Filipino singers of 2024 and SB19 in the top 20s I think. But it comes with hard work much respect to them.

Here in the philippines, if you’re an aspiring singer.. those who can reach high notes and do belting tends to be the most popular. I think he’s not confident to his singing voice since high notes is a challenge for him. And maybe filipino in general tends to lean more on artist who can sing songs from celine dion and mariah carey.
Among the 5th members of sb19 Ken has the most bashers maybe they're jealous of Ken's talent

When it comes to singing in the male category, most Filipinos prefer male singers who can "birit"/ belt out or can sing higher 4th Octave.
Well I prefer male singers who can hit lower notes somewhere in 3rd and 2nd Octaves. And I think more and more Filipinos prefer deep voices because of singers like FELIP (he's actually a one-of-a-kind artist).

he probably was able to sing high notes then puberty hit and he can’t sing the way he used to sing. But Pablo tell him that it’s about the technique of how he utilized the voice no matter what range it is.
Philippines is known to be “the land of Belters”. If you cant hit a high note, you’re not considered a good singer. So Ken used to have high notes not until Puberty and then he lost all his confidence in singing. Must have been the reason why he shifted to Sports and Dance.
And then he joined SB19. Gosh! good thing SB19 happened cause a lot of change happen in OPM. they truly empodied their name Soundbreak 19.
So thankful for sb19🙏 they are literally a gift to this world❤️
15:15 the deep voice and not liking it was in the perspective of singing ability. i guess he couldn't hit those high notes and thought that's what singing was all about and never looked at or knew about the deep tones until pablo made him realize it

Even Men can sing High notes here..and People who can do that are considered really skilled singers in the philippines... People with low tones here are rappers only but lately that's changing...

It's because the standard here in the Philippines to be considered you a good singer is if you able to hit the high notes and still the same standard not until SB19 came in the scene. SB19 really changed the standards here in our country. thanks to Pablo that has the BALLS to break through that so called standards. not all may not agree but SB19 for me became a LEGEND. they are the new SHI* 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️

Maybe he did not like his voice while it was changing at puberty and he stopped singing all together. He got training and that was how he developed his voice again. He needed to be told he’s got a good voice to build his confidence again.
