Thanks for being your wonderful self, Al!
I remember the days of Ask Al on Facebook Live. I was in college then, and I'd watch you while eating lunch between classes on a Wednesday. You might have remembered me as the guy who had a lot of questions (yeah, that aspect of me never went away).
I don't think some people quite grasp the BOOM of supply in things like calisthenics content. Even 10 years ago, there wasn't NEARLY as many resources, channels, and knowledge available as there is now.
Thanks for helping lead the charge in popularizing calisthenics. I think bodyweight training will continue to grow as a "viable option." Maybe someday people will even spell it correctly in the comments sections! Maybe.
Happy to hear about your family. Hope you're doing well, sir.

although there's nothing wrong in using weights and going to a gym; but for best results, there is nothing better for your body than using your own body weight. Calisthenics is the best form of exercise that anyone can have and do in the long run for best results. By using one's own weight body, your weight is controlled according to your own body strength. Other things that one can do is jump rope and use a AB wheel as well which definitely helps the core and also to burn calories and fat. What Al is showing here in this video of his is that anyone can do this for the most part if they work at it and as long as they're not physically impaired.

I started Cali from just doing pull ups and not being able to do a pull up, then a kid comes along and bangs out 5 in a row. I was like " damn, i need to get my strength up ". I digress.. I started seeing people in the park do weird tricks on the bar and hit youtube, then i saw people like yourself and brother, Hannibal, Austin, Thenx and barstarzz. I must confess man, those days i was a cheapskate so i got your book from a.. lets say underhanded way and started to apply the techs, you guys have a simple, effective tried and tested way of teaching that doesnt withhold vital parts of info for progression. Slowly i started to be interested in Gymnastics and Kinetics so i branched into flipping, dynamic strength and movement area and now tune into ido portal also. Thank you for starting/guiding this movement with your content, you've been an inspiration to myself and many friends.

You're taking words right outta my mouth. I've never been interested in lifting heavy sh*t either. Especially since I'm a short manlet, it would look like I was compensating to the outside (for my height), but calisthenics and parkour/free running gives you a great hobby no matter your height, and you can become a master without using drugs -- that's a big advantage compared to the gym. If you don't use roids, you'll never lift very heavy objects, but in calisthenics, you can still achieve everything naturally - albeit it'll take more time.

Hey Hey Hey, I've been following you for some time now, I've tried kettlebells Bulgarian bags and I do love them but always come back to the old bodyweight I never quite mastered any skills but enjoyed the journey trying them. Thanks for all the inspiration and motivation. We're working out!

Although I don't practice it, I have a lot of respect for this type of routine. It is the most practical form of exercise.

I met you and your brother 2013 in Sweden. Great to see you still doing calisthenics. I think I follow your YT channel since 10 years now... Keep going! I´m also still doing calisthenics. Still grinding for the one arm handstand haha. Have a great journey my friend! Maybe see you one day again. :)

It really has been a while. He was one of the first people to post calisthenics on youtube and to be honest it reached millions worldwide and inspired so many. Al's early videos in 2011 and his blog were the reason I was able to learn the one arm pull up at the age of 15 and kick start my own calisthenics journey. It's crazy how much time has passed since and I'm glad he achieved so much during it. Keep being an inspiration, Al!
P.S. I'm sure you will get that elusive one-arm handstand soon! :)
