    The climbers call this: ape index!
    Stretch your arms as wide as you can. Normal is: this wide is the same as your height. When you have maybe ape index +10, then the size of your arms is +10cm wider than your height.
    In this case, the lifter got a very high ape index i think

      Many advise trying to "push your belly button through your back and push your obliques out. Whatever allows you to keep your coor are tight as possible through the motion is optimal for you. He does a lot of beltless pulls so his style of brace doesn't surprise me

  • @JS_Precision
    @JS_Precision 18 днів тому

    Yeah people's build determine how their deadlift looks. Throw enough weight on the bar and the length of the back, legs and arms will determine how a deadlift looks. Some are more back dominant, some more leg dominant. To an extent it can be trained, but only to an extent. You cant change bone structure.

    Ben is more of a strongman, less a powerlifter. His first ever PL meet was just 3 months ago. His 825 kg total is obviously amazing for a first meet but still less of a success than his several strongman world records and u80 WSM title. I want to say I have faint memories of a 400 kilo gym deadlift of his but I may be misremembering things. He did say he wanted to be the first u80 to pull 400, some time ago. His heaviest in competition (strongman) is 388 as a u90 iirc, which was the WR last year but has since been broken.

    • @mustang8206
      @mustang8206 18 днів тому

      He broke the u80 deadlift WR and while he is far better at strongman than powerlifting, it seems he's quit strongman. He didn't do WSM this year or the PSL championships and he hasn't posted any strongman training

    I don't get why he is not using a belt? He uses kneewraps and belt when squatting so it is clearly not about him wanting to lift "raw".
    He would lift more if he learned how to brace with a belt. He should try a high belt position.
