My grandparents were Mennonite, I was raised Catholic, but left in my middle 20’s..My grandma wore a head covering to church and in public..she wore darker dresses and shoes. She was everything to me. Fifty years ago I accepted Jesus as my Savior and I can still remember the joy my grandmother felt. She knew that my relationship with Christ was more important than anything. She probably would have been happy to see me wearing head coverings, but never mentioned it. She was just happy to know that I loved the Lord and accepted His Gift of salvation. I greatly respect you, Megan, as I did her. You’re a beautiful young lady! 💕
Love this time of year. I wear a head covering for church. But other than that, I usually wear a hat when I go out. I'm a baptist, but I do believe in head covering for church when I publically pray in a public setting. Or if I teach or attend church, Sunday school, or ladies' settings.
I just love this channel. It is the simple non toxic daily family life I needed as a new “homemaker”. It’s the adult version of UA-camrs I watched as a teen 😂
With my 3rd and 4th pregnancies, I didn’t look at the scale and asked my doctor and her assistant to not tell me my weight or write it on any paper. They were gracious to accommodate me and it was SO wonderful to not be stressed about it! I’m also petite and have a good relationship with food (I’m a dietitian, actually 😅), but man, body changes in pregnancy are HARD!
I agree. We also cover our heads when we pray because Bible does say that “every wife who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head”. Love your head coverings they look so comfortable ❤️
Recently started head covering too- tried a few different ones you’ve mentioned and that I’ve seen recommended around the internet, but ended up with a garlands of Grace covering. Absolutely love it! Once there’s room in my budget, I will be ordering from them again! 👏👏👏
I have bought from Joyce's before, and also from a few small etsy sellers. It took a while to figure out what styles felt right, but it is a reminder of God's care and protection that also helps me feel more connected to my sisters in Christ.
Hi! My husbond had leukemia 15 years ago, and had to take a zillion blood tests the 42 months his treatment went on, and the years after. He got one very good tip when it came to helping the nurses to find his blood veins: Drink at least 1 pint the hours before the test. It really works. I also have a medical issue that requires blood tests every sixth week. When I drink a lot before the tests there are no difficulties. If you are weight concious, just know how much you drank, and tell the midwife (and yourself ;-). My husbond is well and kicking today, btw ;-)
I can’t express enough how much I love your videos! They are so encouraging and inspiring. I’m not a mom yet but when I become one I know I want to be just like you! I look forward to Thursday every week!
September Farms, we visit every time we go to Lancaster. Your family is growing so fast, can’t wait to meet your new bundle of joy. Your energy is amazing!
I ordered from Joyce’s after watching your video from a couple years ago. While my husband does not prefer the traditional veils, I’m able to get some from her shop that are supposed to be worn as a longer veil in back and I fold them similar to how you did with yours so it gives more of a large headband look. They’re the softest t-shirt material and hold up so well. I also love garlands of grace
What helps with blood tests is drinking water hydrates the vein making it easier for them to poke it. If I don’t drink water, I’m black & blue from them trying.
Megan, your video was beautiful; you have such a wonderful life. Did you have think about writing a book with all the drinks you create? You have so many; and all your drinks look delicous. I would definitely buy the book. I'm so happy your doctor's appointment went well; I knew you were so nervous! Thanks for sharing your life with us; love your videos.
Yes definitely in agreement with head covering Meghan ❤🙏🏻 I cover my head during church, prayer or whenever I beseech the Lord or want to commune with Him 🙏🏻❤️🙌🏻
I know sometims Mennonites can claim this practice as a Mennonite thing, but it really isn't. There are so many other believers who take the passage literally today!

Hey Megan, baking with cranberries is easier than you might think. If you get them fresh or frozen, just fold them into any batter like you would chocolate chips. If you get them, dried up, soak them in boiling water for a half hour to soften them up and make them plump and then fold them in, again, like you would chocolate chips. My favourite thing to make with cranberries is white chocolate and cranberry shortbread cookies. Cookies are the only exception, I feel like, to the soaking rule. You just use the shrivelled up cranberries like you would raisins.
I remember my Mom always being extremely stressed out when she "had to have guests". And that was such a pity because it meant that neither she nor us children could enjoy spending time with the people that came to visit - and that we hardly ever had guests at all. So I would just like to share what I concluded from this experience: Please do remember that your guests come to visit YOU, not your house. They come for the company, not for the food. But then there are people who love to visit me because they know they can just relax and feel at home. It's just not possible to please everyone.
Oh yes! I am the same way when it comes to weighing in at the OB/gyn office during pregnancy. My blood pressure even elevates when I get on the scale. It's ridiculous 😅. So, you're not alone! 😊
You look so pretty in white Meghan and your head covering. You inspire me to wear it more often not only when I’m praying! God will reward you for being the light in this world!!!
I am LCMS Lutheran, and I have noticed that some of the younger women in more orthodox congregations have begun head-covering in the Divine Service. My mother grew up as a Lutheran in the 40's and 50's, and she said that women always wore a hat to church. I don't know if that was a head-covering thing or just the fashion of the time.
Greetings from the middle of Nebraska. I so enjoy your videos!! So glad your OBGYN appt went well. Your patio has turned in to such a wonderful entertaining area. Back in my day growing up in a Catholic church and school we wore chapel veils at mass. If we forgot our veil, our nuns would bobby pin a kleenex on our heads. I loved wearing chapel veils. No longer required in our Catholic faith but some women still wear a head covering to mass. Your area is so beautiful for biking and walking. Your videos always bring joy to my day so thank you for taking us along!! The kiddos are darling!
Kuntryside Orchard has fresh apple cider for $6.00 a gallon. We love it and it's definitely our favorite! Thought you might like that price verses $10.😉
I love the knit head covering. I saw you wearing one in an Instagram story that had flowers on it. Is that from Amazon too? I've only been headcovering for about a year but my husband prefers the scarves. I can't resist wearing the menonite style lace Coverings from Joyce's Coverings. They are sooo much easier. You put them on and don't have to touch it again. I feel like with the scarf ones I have yo re tie all day. We were raised being taught a women's hair is her covering, but now that I'm an adult rereading... I realize the chapter even says it is not. 😳
I was raised with the thought that the hair was the covering too. But now as an adult, I'm reading deeper and trying to make the best choice for myself.
@@laurenj.5312the headcovering movement has a lot of information. One point they have is the Greek word for cover. The word cover is used 6 times in the passage Five times katakalupto (covered) / akatakaluptos (uncovered) is used In verse 15 the word cover is a different word, peribolaion. Even though English translates both Greek words as cover, Paul uses a different word to distinguish natural covering to artificial covering.
My cousin works at Ágape! Beautiful place. Love watching your videos. All my family lives around your area. Wish I could meet you in person. You seem like such a fun person!
22:00 its about $10-$15 for a gallon of good, local cider. I would say that it’s 100% worth the cost compared to the grocery store stuff. I usually buy 2 gallons a year, a small price for an enjoyable treat
I'm Muslim and non binary and cover my head differently depending on the day. During Ramadan I try to cover up more and i struggle during summer bc of the heat.
Wow, your children are all adorable - they grow so fast don't they?Seems Miller was just born but now he is a toddler and Fletcher has outgrown toddler & become a kid.

Hi, i read the scripture about head coverings. He was addressing the people who practiced a custom. With Christ being our mediator at His resurrection we go through Him not through ANYONE else when we pray. The covering is no longer needed.
Thank you for such a lovely video! How special that you had some mom-daughter time with your sweet angel! I am praying for you and baby and hope you are keeping well. Lots of blessings to you and yours! ☀️
I miss going to agape! We'd go at like 230 so there wasn't usually a wait, but never went on a Saturday. I think it's great how busy they always are! Where we live now I haven't found anything like what's in Lancaster county. I miss living there 😔
Megan, I LOVE your videos! I'm a fellow Lancaster County native and can't believe I didn't find you sooner. I love when you show local places because I've been to so many of them :) (Griddle and Grind is amazing, btw) I grew up going to Mennonite school (I went to Kraybill Mennonite K-8) and I wore a head covering for a while in my late teens. God has taken me on such a unique journey and I don't have children yet (will be getting married in about 6-7 months!), but I have the desire to stay at home and raise children. Your videos are so inspiring when I think about my future, and I love the cozy reminders of how simple pleasures in life are the best.
$13 here in Montana for the good cider! Ugh! And the cinnamon stick smell 1000% always reminds me of my mom's fabric craft apples lol. I did not know other moms made those!
I'm catholic and when we were growing up, it was mandatory to wear a head covering. That changed in the 60s, but I'm noticing more and more, that women in my church are starting to wear head coverings such as what you are wearing. Or, they have the longer veils, I think they used to call them Mantillas. I've been considering wearing them again, so I will definitely look at your friend's site. I enjoy your videos, even though I am at a different stage in life (I have 4 grandchildren) than you are.🥰
I think you did an awesome job on the thumbnail, it's beautiful! I'm enjoying this video after finding the right one- by mistake, I started on one of yours from last year & kept thinking why does everyone look so much younger than I remember? I couldn't believe you cut the extension cord again, so I checked which video I was actually watching 😜
Always love your videos! I look forward to Thursdays when I can sit down and watch your new video. I now have Lancaster, PA at the top of my vacation list and can't wait to see the country, the towns and experience attending a Mennonite church service while I'm in the area hopefully next year. You are an inspiration to all us stay-at-home moms.
I was looking into head coverings from your videos and I see how if you don't wear a wedding ring it would absolutely be something a married woman should do for me being someone who has another symbol for being married I don't feel I need to wear one. That being said there are a lot of times I do wear one because I was doing it consistently for about 2 weeks while I was looking into it and discovered a long list of practical reasons to wear them especially as a mom but yeah after studying the passage and and the history behind it that is just where I've landed on the subject for right now. When I wear them I made some that are like the second style you tried on out of some fabric scraps from my grandma
I love Agave ! It’s so good there. I also love going to September Farms but I have to admit I haven’t been there since before Covid hit. Fox Meadow is close to me. I just love living in this area. Thank you for such wonderful videos I look forward to them every Thursday 😊
That's so funny cinnamon makes you think of crafts because it makes ME think of craft stores like Michael's or JoAnn Fabrics!! 😂😂 Memories of going in there with my mom when I was little. Love it. 🥰
I had a time many years ago now when I talked with my husband about how I wanted to wear a head covering. He said that in biblical times it was worn to not draw attention to the women but that if I did it in our church it would have the opposite effect as I would be the only one . I've gone back and forth on it. I loved your church outfit and saw the link to the shirt. Do you have one for the skirt as well? Thanks for another wonderful video!
I'm the only person in my church and area that covers my head, and I do get discouraged at times. I get weird looks all the time. But I remind myself that I am obeying God and His opinion is the only one that matters! 😊 I am also fortunate that my husband is in agreement with me covering. Be strong, sister in Christ. ❤
I also struggle back and forth in this one - I can't see a conclusive yes/no from my reading, both sides have good points, I wouldn't mind wearing one because they're pretty but I don't want to only cover because ai like how it looks, I want it to be a proper conviction. I'll keep on praying about it 😊 good luck with your journey!
It is a tradition that I think is having a come back at least amongst Catholics, for most of our history women covered their head when attending church. It´s a beautiful tradition.
I love watching your videos that one look like a lot of fun. Very blessed beautiful children. See you in the next video. I want to see your fall Decour have a blessed Thursday night.❤
The “long hair” we interpret as a head covering is specifically uncut hair grown to its natural length. We believe it’s “removed” when it’s cut or trimmed :) while I simply maintain uncut hair, I think a physical veiling is nice as well
Paul is concerned with covering at specific times (prayer and prophesying), so must be that it is a removable covering to put on and take off not something permanent like our hair. Also if you study the Greek words used, they're all the same except for verse 15 where a different word is used to refer to natural hair verses a covering. Just some things to consider!
At first I didn’t follow your channel after watching a few videos, cus I though we’ll, she’s a mom and Mennonite and I’m neither lol but I kept coming back to your videos so I subscribed. Then again I didn’t really watch that much cus again same thing lolll but every time I watch your videos I think I need to watch more because your videos are calm yet interesting, cozy yet exciting and it puts me in such a good mood for the day after watching your video at breakfast!!! The only I have in common is I am a housewife so I also like the getting chores done attitude! 😆😆😆
I like the way you explain the reason you wear your hair covering I am of the Pentecostal faith and we do not cut or hair or trim it, we do not wear the hair covering but we do believe that the married woman should wear their hair up, stating that it’s for God and their husband! Most of all I’m thankful to know about having a personal relationship with Jesus! That’s what’s really important and everything else will follow May God bless you and your family

I read this In Corinthians because I never knew what a Mennonite actually was until I saw your page. I always thought it was Paul talking about the Corinthians in the context of their culture because women were showing they were not “conservative “ by not wearing a scarf. ? I tried it but I felt super strange in the context of my own culture- it just wasn’t for me. But for what it’s worth- it looks super cute on others. I’m glad we are still family in Christ on issues that really matter. Love your vlogs. 😊

Yes those are from amazon as well.
I was raised with the thought that the hair was the covering too. But now as an adult, I'm reading deeper and trying to make the best choice for myself.
👍
@@laurenj.5312the headcovering movement has a lot of information. One point they have is the Greek word for cover.
The word cover is used 6 times in the passage
Five times katakalupto (covered) / akatakaluptos (uncovered) is used
In verse 15 the word cover is a different word, peribolaion.
I started covering my hair because I visit patients in their home, to avoid the smells. However, I really do enjoy wearing them now.
Wow, your children are all adorable - they grow so fast don't they?Seems Miller was just born but now he is a toddler and Fletcher has outgrown toddler & become a kid.
there's about 6 mama vloggers I try to keep up with currently. You have become my #1 favorite lately. very fun. thank you for enjoyable content. i appreciate your dedication to your beautiful family and your OWN interests and aspirations! can't wait to follow you through-out your next journey of pregnancy and baby. :)
Who else do you follow? I love finding new mama vloggers!
@@PollyWannaCracker21 farmhouse on boone, this mama's house, Natalie Bennet, Michelle Reed, this golden hour. Allison bickerstaff is great too. Love her! And for some peaceful non mama vloggers "trout and coffee" & "Lou C".
That store was amazing!!
Cranberries are SUPER easy to bake with! I have a cranberry pecan scone recipe that’s always a big hit!
Happy Birthday Evonnie. !!! Great video thanks for sharing
I miss living there 😔
Your videos really calm me
Drinking my coffee and watching your video. And following your journey.
I love your videos!! You have a calmness and peace that is definitely from the Lord which calms me after a crazy day. Thank you!!
$5 a gallon at Daniels orchard outside farmersville in Lancaster!😊 outside of the touristy area 😏
$13 here in Montana for the good cider! Ugh!
And the cinnamon stick smell 1000% always reminds me of my mom's fabric craft apples lol. I did not know other moms made those!
I love the Bible verse and the sunset at the end.
Great video Megan thanks for sharing your family and beautiful Lancaster County.
hey girl- loved the video! You are so fun!😀😉 yummy food. Glad the pregnancy is going well🥰
I'm catholic and when we were growing up, it was mandatory to wear a head covering. That changed in the 60s, but I'm noticing more and more, that women in my church are starting to wear head coverings such as what you are wearing. Or, they have the longer veils, I think they used to call them Mantillas. I've been considering wearing them again, so I will definitely look at your friend's site. I enjoy your videos, even though I am at a different stage in life (I have 4 grandchildren) than you are.🥰
You hit the nail on the head with the 60s women's liberation where headcoverings were no longer worn. ☹️ Churches in other countries still do it.
Megan, you are a beautiful soul and I love your content so very much. Very talented with videos and sound!!! ❤
I love all your fall decorations and all the good looking drinks you make ❤ looks so good
That's so funny cinnamon makes you think of crafts because it makes ME think of craft stores like Michael's or JoAnn Fabrics!! 😂😂 Memories of going in there with my mom when I was little. Love it. 🥰
Thank you so much for the break from life
I had a time many years ago now when I talked with my husband about how I wanted to wear a head covering.
Im not Mennonite but do headcover based on my own reading and conviction of scripture! I love Garlands of Grace!
Great, fun, full of love video Megan.
Beautiful video! Thank you for sharing life! ❤
I love watching your videos that one look like a lot of fun. Very blessed beautiful children. See you in the next video. I want to see your fall Decour have a blessed Thursday night.❤
I love the head covering thing.
The “long hair” we interpret as a head covering is specifically uncut hair grown to its natural length. We believe it’s “removed” when it’s cut or trimmed :) while I simply maintain uncut hair, I think a physical veiling is nice as well
1Corinthians 11:15 Your hair is your covering. Veils are a throwback from Catholic tradition.
Well said!
It's a matter of individual conviction . It's not a heaven or hell issue
@@vcrouch6041exactly !!
We make our own apple cider! My father-in-law has a cider press, and we've made it several years already!
Where do we find the recipe for the peach green tea?? 😀
Lovely from beginning to end! Thank you!
When will your Inherit Clothing collab launch? I'm so excited to see it!
Inspiring and so much fun! Thanks so much!
I like the way you explain the reason you wear your hair covering
I am of the Pentecostal faith and we do not cut or hair or trim it, we do not wear the hair covering but we do believe that the married woman should wear their hair up, stating that it’s for God and their husband!
Most of all I’m thankful to know about having a personal relationship with Jesus! That’s what’s really important and everything else will follow
May God bless you and your family
I’m an Eastern Orthodox Christian and I have always covered my head.
Was looking for that fall punch recipe you said you would post but couldn't find it. Good bless!!
Love the fallidays Megan! ☺️
We are visiting Lancaster county while this video came out! We had gone to Agape 2 days ago and had their raspberry/rosemary spritzer! I love when you share your recipes!!
Hey Megan, I also am nervous everytime I have to have blood work done because they never find good veins on me 😭
My kids a older now (18, 16 and 12) but when the bigger two where little both my grandmas where still alive and the really got to enjoy quite a bit of their greatgrandchildren.
K, I am using your ending bible verse all week. I love it, so great to focus on.
$7 for a gallon of cider at our local orchard in Central NY! Several orchards lots a lot of produce with late frosts this year. Costs are up, up, up!
Great video. I may try that Thanksgiving punch and green tea with peach syrup. Go EAGLES!!!
I love your beautiful family. Super fun video❣️
