I'm a original Frankenstein and Universal Monster fan and this is the best Monster figure ever made untill today. The size, the likeness and even the suit is just perfect.
@Ryan Ward That's right! Yes I'd read that somewhere and I think he missed a huge opportunity in his career that he always kinda regretted but it just wasn't meant to be. He did get to play The Monster in Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman as you'd probably know, and gave us the infamous slow, lumbering walk with arms outstretched, which itself became iconic. Karloff was the best choice for The Monster though easily don't you think?!?
Im so happy universal monsters are finally getting some love, probably my favorite license. The one let down i have with this guy is that he doesnt come with a sad expression head. The most important part of the character to me is how simpathetic and sad the character is.
I'd be all for getting Karloff Bride of Frankenstein figure with different heads and accessories... And a Son of Frankenstein with the big fur shirt, for that matter!
I'm all for this line. A lot of companies have done these characters as figures before. But I feel like this was the one everyone was waiting for and didn't even know it. And I feel like I've been saying that a lot the last two years about several lines.
I grew up watching the old Universal Monster movies and I’ve loved this guy since the first time I saw him, and I pre-ordered him right away, he just looks cool. I’m definitely getting the rest of them when they’re announced as well. The Wolfman looks cool along with Dracula and the Mummy, I hope they do a Creature From The Black Lagoon, thanks for the review Robo.
I got this guy a few days ago, and it's for sure one of my favorite ones up to date! Its walmart exclusive at the moment, it got released early for Fathers day, but he'll become a normal release soon! Amazing review! Keep up the good work! God bless! 💜💥
@@xtremedubstep89 dude like Neca does so much good shit. My neca godzilla 64 is god like figure. Also props to Neca for not overpricing their products like bandai
They usually do. NECA is definitely my favorite company to collect from as far as 7-inch scaled figures go. Although, in recent years, McFarlane Toys has started to catch up. Todd finally set his dislike for articulation aside and is stepping things up a notch.
@@SlasherIncorporated no shit dude. I am so excited for Gunslinger Spawn. But Todd could just step up his game with shipping his classic remaster of spawn to other countries since i can't find him anywhere.
Awaiting mine still. The Universal Monsters are classic and NECA appears to have nailed the figs (ordered Wolfman too). Great review as always. You are on fire! (The Monster is so afraid of you Robo).
You know, I'm honestly not a big Universal Monsters guy either. I actually haven't seen any of those classic films. I find it very difficult trying to go back and watch anything before the 1960s. BUT...like you said, I find the designs of the monsters interesting (as well as iconic) and that figure is so incredibly gorgeous that I think I might need to have it...
Are there 2 versions of this? I have seen other vids that show a little different version apparently, of Franky... Others appear to have a slightly larger head, and different wrists.. I am wondering if Neca "improved" it??
I buy a lot of NECA product, and I watch a lot of Fwoosh reviews. Nice to see the two cross over. I very much want this Frankenstein's Monster, and nice to see NECA getting a bit smoother and less finicky with their newest releases.
this might sound stupid but is it weird i actually think they could maybe do a future re-release of this figure with maybe some lab machines or maybe some different alternate heads like one resembling boris karloff, and some resembling Bela lugosi, lon chaney jr and glenn strange's versions of the character, and maybe a son of frankenstein version, that would still alow for switching the heads and hands if you wanna change expressions or maybe even kinda make your own version of the monster, like lugosi frankenstein in the fur coat holding the flowers or something like that
Decided what the hey, I'll give this figure an open. Go to bed his left leg and with next to no force, it snaps. Now he's super glued in one position for the entirety of its life. Second Neca break instantly after opening.
It's odd how it's different figure to figure. I went to town on all the joints right out of the package and didn't have any trouble except the jacket trying to open in the front when I got too crazy with the torso joints.
@@TheFwoosh it's sad but it's expected at this point. You really can't complain too much since you're only paying $30 for a super pretty figure that other companies would probably charge $60+ for.
Stop it Robo! There's still no news on UK release date for the colour version of this figure, or any of the recent Father's Day NECA releases, so why'd you have to torment me with an awesome review?! I swear, if it doesn't get a release by October here, maybe I'll take a leaf out of his book and go on a rampage in the European countryside to vent my frustrations. Still as a HUGE classic monster movies fan I love the look of this figure, the colours are what sold me on it since most other versions overdo the green, the Mezco colour is what most figures out there have, here it looks so much more natural. The heads I appreciate they went so specific, I think the final one you showed is meant to be the moment when he scares Frankenstein's wife. This and the Wolfman are must haves since I never had a classic Wolfman in this scale, it'll be hard to top the Select Creature from the Black Lagoon though, if they ever get around to that.
I'm a big Universal monsters fan I grew up with them and was my first horror movies, I would watch them every Holloween, and I still watch them. I'm also a NECA ultimate horror collecter so he's a must have for me.🤷♂️ I at least want the Universal monsters trinity Frank, Wolfie and Drac😉
Oh, that is gorgeous! I think I might have to get both versions so I can display at least two of the scenes. I'd also love a "illustrated" figure like we got from King Kong, and different figures from Bride and Son. Ooh! And maybe a Lugosi monster from Vs The Wolfman! Either way, I'm going to get whatever NECA gives us. I just hope they go beyond the core 6 or 7 that we always get. Also, I wonder what's going on with the Hammer license they were announced to have gotten. I have the Mego, but I need a higher end Christopher Lee Dracula!
Big Frankenstein fan and definitely ok board for all of these figures now... was also thinking of getting the B&W versions too but the colors ok this one look just so perfect especially the repaired flesh details! Like I needed a new line to collect but they definitely convinced me
Just figured out what seems off about this figure, Karloff had a bridge that he would take out then suck in his cheek to give the monster a sunken cheek, I can’t see this in this sculpt
Not sure which direction he was talking about, whether or not all of them will get B&W versions, or whether or not all of them will get colorized versions.
Picked up the B&W version frankenstein for now,but will prob get the colour version aswell as it does look really good in colour.then I shall wait to see what necas next move is as regards the rest of the universal monsters figure range.really hoping they do them all in B&W keeping them more movie accurate as regards the original B&W movie releases.like the wolfman etc.
I don’t know if this is going to be hard on your wall or not but I am actually looking forward you’d be reviewing more of these bad boys You could have an entire universal monster shelf
If this Frankenstein which I love has shown me is that NECA totally needs to do a Munsters line.... I could see this body as a great reuse for Herman Munster. =)
I wonder if Neca is going to do a Nosferatu/The Vanpyre fugure like Sideshow did. Will be nice if they do. Also, The Mezco Frank is missing some special touch, like you said, and looke way too generic compared to the neca figure.
Just an FYI... that articulation you were gushing over is how they do all of their reel toys line now.. horror, terminator, BttF, all figures (wearing pants lol) have that incredible invisible joint look. It's great... they just gotta work on QC
Would be really disappointing not to get all pending Neca Universal Monsters in B & W versions. Could only get the B & W Frankie in Australia so far. Not so sold on the colour versions.
