Wow I can't believe I'm just coming across you now Patti! You are such a deadly player! Everyone should subscribe to her page she's so great. I started my own tune a day challenge but I teach them. Just now coming across you! Great stuff! Do you have any new projects in the works?
I love this version with that unexpected little key change (watch Alex's reaction !) and ALL the other songs thrown in it ! I watch it very often ! Can somebody tell me the title of the 1st one ? (before "Pretty Woman") I know I heard this before, it sounds like a western tv show ! ... and what a fabulous guitarist is Jeremy Rusu !!
You know, playing 5-string banjo for what is now 45 years, I've heard so many different versions of OBS that I'm pretty sick of the song... that is, until I heard your arrangement. You put a lot, and I mean a LOT, of feeling into this song with some REALLY nice and unexpected stuff that keeps it fun and interesting for the listener. Bottom line: NICE JOB!
Holy Cow, Patti! That was just fantastic! You guys are really talented! You play that fiddle like you been at it for years. I can only get my fiddle to screech and run the cat under the bed. I love that song and wish I could play it someday. I have to play your video again already.

Hahahaha...the Mad Bulgar snuck in there for a few seconds! Good stuff. And only one thumb-down so far! Not bad for playing the most reviled tune in fiddledom. :) Ever try OBS in Bb?
Merlyn Schutterle thanks for your input. Where would one find a recording of the “real”tune? Every version that I’ve heard has some improv in the A part while it vamps on the E chord. What would you prefer to hear? Or what is it that you play?
@@PattiKusturokOfficial I really enjoy your lessons and your music and I didn't give you a thumbs down. I really like the way Jeremy starts it off. I play it on the 5-string. They don't insert a completely different song at a jam session because almost all banjo players or guitar players would not be able to know where to go. The whole idea is to make it sound like a train. The tune itself is almost unimportant and the improvisation makes it great. I just don't think Lady Madonna has anything to do with a train. It even changes the rhythm. There are loads of examples on you tube that keeps the original flavor. Try Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, Michael Cleveland, Bristodeau Family Band, Annie plays orange blossom Special. I wish you well from Rochester, MN
Me too ! what a great resource for fiddlers and rhythm players interested in traditional music . Bravo !!!
You folks are SUPERB!!!! Thank you.x

Thanks so much. I've been playing for more than 40 years so it's been pretty much forever. Keep working at it! The screeches will eventually go away!

@@PattiKusturokOfficial Do you just make up the music for this, or do you get sheet music from someone else?
I wish fiddlers would quit playing junk in the middle that was never part of the real tune.
