Neat video as always!
Yo Matt! Check out an interesting Polish camo pattern for the current field uniform. Not adopted to Polish Army but very unique and rumors are a very effective one. It's called MAPA (the map), and it's made in Poland by military personal protection company Mask-Pol
Matsimus your thoughts. ua-cam.com/video/5mUiX3oBz28/v-deo.html
Trudeau a facist.
Wow.....like father like son huh?.
Lol stay safe and hopefully the Canucks military won't kill its own citizens.
Love your channel actually. Stay safe
As a fellow western Canadian and former CF member, thank you for your service in dispelling the stigma that all Canadians drink bagged milk. You are truly doing the Lord's work.
Lmao!! 😁🤣😂 thanks brother
Yeah! We easterners drink bagged milk, you guys drink gravy. Balanced as all things should be
Really nice to hear Matsimus refer to himself as any kind of Canadian, bagged milk or no!
I never bought bagged milk for myself until I moved to Montréal.
Wish I could get ahold of some real Canadian cadpat. I also love that Canada isn't joining everyone else and going with friggin multicam look. I miss the days of woodland camo, DPM, etc etc etc.
It's a good day when you can wear a bush cap while patroling in the snow.
The problem I have with puffer coats and jackets like this is that when you compress them they loose all their insulating properties. So normally there are areas on your mody that compress them like on your elbow or your knee if you wear puffer trousers and I find it uncomfortable. They also tear easily in the woods so they dont' really last very long. Granted they do insulate very well otherwise though I just like a wooly jumper a lot more. I also find that synethics feel very cold to the trouch unlike wool which always feels warm and cosy to me.
I agree. Under heavy body armor and a 200 round magazine loadout any 'puffy' compresses to be almost useless. I think wool or fleece under a windbreaker jacket under your armor and pack is best. Then can have a puffy for over all of that stuff if you don't have to move. In real wars in cold winter environments like Canada, Finland or Russia, body armor is probably coming off and soldiers that want to live will be wearing a heavy insulated jacket, ditching heavy side arms and probably carrying a single rifle anyways. -20 Celsius or lower prevents soldiers from wearing much of this crap for long
This may sound stupid to some but you have to remember that jackets don't create heat, they just keep it in. Little trick from a life long Canadian...if you are getting cold outside in the weather, even though dressed for it...just do a quick jog or run on the spot and you will find yourself warm instantly. Just don't do to much so you start sweating, and of course, you need that wind breaker layer to stop the wind from entering your clothing and taking away that heat. I have met many shivering in the cold and I have told them to jog to a near by object and back again and they are instantly warm, which with a good jacket, will last a long time.
True
Thank you very much for this video review was jealous of the guys with their puffy while I was chugging along with my polar and this decided to look for something. Gonna be great to use while up here in Eastern Europe. Thanks for the review.
Going out to Meaford for 9 days soon. Puffy jacket plus the CADPAT rain jacket is the way my dudes.
We used to line our field jackets with Woobies back in the day, almost worked too!
Ye old puffer jackets are the bomb
Ranger blanket is the best issued kit hands down 😊
I need to check this out before my next exercise lol especially if i get posted out west XD
Please do more gear reviews, they are very helpful!
Wow. This would be great under the US M-65 jacket. I'm looking in to this!
Only thing it might need are Velcro spots for patches
fabulous i will get the green flag and other great look product
I bought this and I am relatively happy with it. Mine arrived with zero labels on it. No size, no manufacturer, no washing instructions, nothing. Does yours have any labels? That is in violation of the Textile Labelling Act.
This seem to be a really useful piece of clothing for any outdoor people. A civilian could of course use whatever colour they prefer.
Cadpat is quite purdy!
nice, thanks for sharing
Caspat kinda looks cool
that camo will blend in great in the snow ...
They issue winter kit for that…
@@UbiqueGrid right , it is shown in a winter scene , in green camo
@@Ebolter1 Noo, they issue camo whites. I literally have them…
Haw big do they make them in, and can I order one.
Can you do a video on the CADPAT MT camo?
They make great products would like to get the puffy
Looks like a great layer. Just looked at the link....no "fat boy" sizes. :-(
6'5" /255 lbs of old U.S. Marine. ;-)
Thanks for the review. Need this for West Michigan winter.
Could please maybe make a video of the new challenger 3 vs M1A2 sepv 3 or the newer sepv 4 please and which one you think is the better tank
Can you tell me where you get the roman infantry of intro clip ?
Getting to this video a little late but could I possibly recommend a nomex vest for you I work up in nwt on a rig as a derrick hand on a rig there super warm and have alott of mobility
Cool
Me me! I wanna be a camo down jacket man too!
Hey Matsimus quick question what do you carry in your combat shirt pockets.
Sorry if it’s a stupid question.
Hey matsimus, quite a random question but how difficult is the arty dp1 im going into it in the spring and curious on the math end of it typically haven’t been the best at hit and I’m kinda worried on the end more than the physical side. Any info/help would be great thanks!
Don’t worry about the math! I suck at it! Just listen to what you’re told, get your fitness up now and study your basic fire discipline!! Get some help from your unit and get a gun drill book to study
@@_Matsimus_ thank you for the insight much appreciated!
It’s not hard math, it’s Arty Math. If you can count to 10 and do the most basic addition and subtraction you are good to go for your first trade course. It gets only slightly more challenging if you go on to other qualifications like Recce and CP tech. If you go on to master the tech stuff it does involve lots of math, BUT… they teach it to you, and you will figure it out.
It’s a breeze, it’s 30 days long and it’s the shortest of all the combat trades DP1s, everyone I know had loads of fun on their last field ex. But they are also changing DP1 for arty and adding the STA portion of artillery to the course, instead of firing the guns, that will be left for regiments to train (which is WAY more chill)
Hi... dont see it on the website? Sold out? And what is the insulation made of I did not pick that up? primaloft or?
It looks like NEX Logistics or Nippon Shipping's removable to their all weather or long shoreman's coat ( whatever you want to call it) that comes with an outer tough water proof exterior. It has a thinsulate or special polyester down in it & is extremely warm, very light, compresses to a very small size, & yet rebounds to provide excellent insulation. Perhaps this company should make an outer water covering for it and navalized it. Our company jacket is excellent for those who must endure cold & wet environments. I believe that I own something very similar and can say with all honesty that its probably worth the $139 Canadian. With outer covering my coat would probably cost in the $140 to $150 US today but its worth every penny. It's considered to be a rather expensive coat today so discuss it with your wife first so that doesn't get her nose out of joint or worse sleep in it in her unheated she shed.
6'3" 250lbs of prime Anglo-Saxon beef.
hi, will the puffy be restocked soon? its off the website.
I'm from another time. I started in OD's and finished in woodlands. Rain gear, jacket & pants, smelled like puke and just too hot. Poncho's? They get us killed or injured, although some jobs site it'd be okay. Puffy would be a hazard.
Old rain jacket was a sauna!! Loved when the gortex ( especially the jacket) came in.
How is the flame resistance? does it burn?
For got the word "liner" as in a coat liner.
You would think they are trees from far XD nice camo
Well they aren’t going to dress you in Pink Camouflage gear
@@YaMomsOyster LoL couldn´t agree more
(Attempt 2!)
Hey Matsimus I just watched your video on the Bofors 40mm.
Cool to see someone using my footage in their videos. Can I ask where you got it from?
Particularly the clips from 0:10 to 0:39.
Cheers!
Haha you sent it to me!! 😅 do you not remember?…
@@_Matsimus_ I did? Damn. Shouldn’t have been sniffing those gunpowder fumes as hard I suppose. I had completely forgotten! 😂
😎👍
Awesome video!
I got some CADPAT pants, I found out they were a Frontenac copy. Trying to find info about the company, it seems these use original fabric but are made in a different cut. I originally supposed they were made as a civilian alternative without all the legal stuff. There is like zero info I could find.
Do you have any information about this Frontenac and their CADPAT repros?
I have also heard that their gear is used over issued gear in the CAF, and I am trying to find out as much as I can about the company.
Thank you!
Hey matsimus i git a artillery question
Why cant we put shells onto kinda mags or clips, basically a scaled up gun that fores artillery shells?, to lift the shells up you got a crane then like ye, casual gun mechanism stuff
We can, but it just costs too much lol
@@_Matsimus_ auto fireing shells shall be a thing of 2100
Hey Matt. I had a question for you. How would you rate the Colt Canada C7A2?
I like it a lot
👍😎🍺🍩,
Where can someone find the flag that's hanging on your wall?
No bags of milk? poor guy, I feel sorry for you. They really are the best way to go.
If you stop the video at 8:53 you can see how high can the snow be in Alberta in January.
😂
Yes indeed and when you pause at 8:47 you can see ancient roman greerting :0
Please review K9 Howitzer from south korea
👍👍👊
Is it Canada goose down? 🇨🇦eh
Does Canada own the NFT on that yet?
This product is not owned by the Government of Canada. It's privately trademarked and owned by a private company. Anything to make a buck, eh?

Why does Canada use 105mm artilery? I can't imagine many things in a large area getting hurt by that, especially compared to a 155mm.
Most nations use 105mm or similar sized howitzers because they work and work well and in most cases are all you need. Canada also has the 155mm too but for general field artillery, a medium sized gun is best for portability of both the gun and rounds. Medium artillery of the 105mm size is the perfect balance of fire power, mobility and economic cost. Certainly modern 155s howitzers and mortars are fine pieces too and are an improvement of what as available in the past but 105s still have their place in a modern army.
@@Peorhum didn't know we had 155s.
@@michaelp3010 M777. Got them for Afgan..
@@jeffho1727 well then I wouldn't mind using one of those. Too bad it ain't self propelled.
@@michaelp3010 Yeah, the shift from the Cold War SP to the Fire Bases of Afghanistan might come back and bite with Cold War 2 Ukrainian Boogaloo.
Surely your chain of command should care more about you being warm, than if one of your layers is army issue or not and the exact colours of CADPAT 🤔
Ah guys don’t even have the new C6A1 that’s a shame 😂
You at 29 reg?
Wew Mat, you should be carefull swinging ur arm like that it that manner, almost looks like ur doing something else if i pause it hahaha
If they want an international trial hit me up lol

6'2 325 is my guess
Nice gender neutral coat!
Not issued, not authorized for wear and that includes PRes units.
Lol. Someone’s a little testy. It is authorized if requested via your CO.
@@_Matsimus_ sorry but no it is not, the CO does not have overriding powers to amend or modify dress policy when it comes to kit not issued to the soldiers something the MO world fails to comprehend.
@@deanclarke706 ok. Well that’s fine. I’ll make sure I Jack up all the troops wearing these on your behalf. Thanks for the concern
