Maya is so classy and has so much poise. She looks like a tall glass of milk lol. Her struts and arm movements are on point. This was Bayou Classic you cant compare it to Mardi Gras. They had 3 back to back performances. Can’t wear them out completely lol

KP and Myia/Mya (not sure which is the correct spelling) are the reasons I am such a fan of this line. Never paid any attention to collegiate dance lines, but they commanded my attention...and I'm still a fan. I LOVE seeing Black Girl Magic and power in motion.

For me, it was all about the young lady doing tail duty!!!! Her lines and swag definitely stood out in a very good way IMHO.

I'm curious, just how long (miles) is that parade route and what neighborhoods does it go through?
It's about 5 1/2 miles and goes from Downtown at the SuperDome through the French Quarter.

See I didn't want to say anything because Doll fans will come for your throat (and yes I do like the Dolls) but in terms of aesthetic they look completely different to me. I think because their hair is straight. I miss the curls. On another note Im heartbroken Dani's first BC she isn't able to dance. Wishing her a speedy recovery.
They wear straight hair with this uniform every year. Maya is just following tradition.

other races have a disadvantage to make it; they aren't in high schools that feed these HBCU bands & auxiliary teams; nor those school bands have this HBCU- style structures. its a harder tryout
There are more high school bands than college and those OPENING slots are taken before it is opened.

Miriam Myrsiades for the same reason when other races have an organization it is composed of their own race of people entirely. Why is there never a question like this when it’s all whites or hispanics ? Why does everything that African Americans have or do need to be inclusive to other races but no one feels other races should include people of color ?
